Discounts?

Hi everyone, I have a stupid question. I hear lots of talk about discounts, and ap rates and all sorts of things. How do you get these? I'm trying to plan my honeymoon for October and I would love to stay at AKL with a Savannah view but i just cant afford it. I went on the DW website just to price a 7 night vacation at that hotel and it came to $4000!
