Discounts, when do you have to check in?

Years ago as long as you checked in before the last day of the deal you could still get it. Is this still true today? Or does your stay all have to be within the times of the discount? 2008 was the last time we were there. Hoping for a trip either in Nov 2015 or Jan 2016. Thanks!

Depends on the type of discount. Package discounts go by checking date. Room only discounts are date specific.

Thanks!! Makes sense why my friend couldn't get a deal for her entire stay, she was just using a room only discount.
