Discounts and concierge level

I am considering staying concierge level for the first time. I am looking at the Poly, the Contemporary and the Wilderness, although I remain open to the GF. I am waiting for discount codes to come out for my Summer 2013 trip. My questions are these: (1) do these discount codes apply to concierge level rooms and (2) would I do better with an annual pass? I have been looking on mousesavers, and it doesn't look like the discount for annual pass differs from what the public is getting.

1 - yes, discounts can apply to CL rooms. But it just depends on the particular offer that Disney releases - it might not apply to them, it might apply to only particular resorts, etc.

2 - AP rates so far this year are really poor. In past years, AP discounts were better.

Yes, we just returned from a 10 night stay WL CL and had a 40% discount for it. Keep in mind that Disney only has a certain amount of rooms available for any given discount.

As others have posted, yes, discounts can be used on CL rooms. However, Disney releases discounts to fill rooms, so if a particular resort/room type is at or near capacity at the time a discount is released, there would be no need for Disney to include that in the promo. Also, having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied as there has to be availability for that room resort/room type under the promo to take advantage of a discount. With that said, it's always a good idea to have a 2nd (and sometimes a 3rd) choice in mind, just in case your 1st choice isn't available.

I have always reserved my room at rack rate & when the discount rate comes out, I have called & the discount has ALWAYS been applied to my reservation. I have found that Disney is very good at honoring this. I don't think you can go wrong w/ any of the CL resorts. Whatever you chose, good luck & enjoy!

Military discount was the only one that reached 40% this year.

We had a 30% off code for BC CL this past April. However, we really had to play with out dates to stay there. We ended up doing a split stay because there wasn't a club level room available the whole trip down there for BC.

As missy rose pointed out, it was a military discount.

We just got back and the only discount for the Poly was 10% through AAA. Disney only offered a 5% off for the Poly.

This is the first time in 9 years we did not have a Disney discount so the price for CL was very expensive!!!!! $6,000 for 9 nights.

Good luck for next summer, we are hoping for a better discount next year.

I think your smart to wait for discounts to come out. Because as mentioned, WDW is only discounting rooms or resorts that need to be filled. If they are enough booked at rack rate, they won't release a discount for that resort or room category.

This year all discounts were at least 5% lower for most resorts. I think the GP Deluxe discount for Late Summer was 30%, and AP was 35% But not across the board as mentioned. Some resorts were lower.

We get an AP because we go 2x a year, so it's cheaper then buying 2 sets of park tickets. Not only are AP discounts lower, they are being released a lot later, almost last minute
