Discounted Tickets website?

Has anyone purchased park hopper tickets through this website - www.disneyworldhotelsandtickets.com? They're charging $185 for an adult 4 day park hopper. Only catch is you have to pick up your tickets when you get down there or they'll deliver them to your hotel for a $5.00 delivery charge. Has anyone bought passes from here before and were they legitimate passes? Please give me any info you can on discount passes through this website. Thanks

Just FYI, the prices on that site do not include 7% tax (read the small print). When you add tax, the tickets are $198. I have two places listed on my Mouse Savers web site that can give you a slightly better deal AND they will mail them to you in advance.

Also, if you belong to AAA, give them a call and check rates. Usually their rates are similar to the site you mentioned, you'll be able to have your tickets in hand, and you won't pay shipping.

If you buy tix over the internet and get them mailed or FedExed to you the sales tax does not apply. You save the 7%. We bought from the link below in March and saved a bundle.

Ticketmania, has no sales tax?

We are trying to get two 3 day Universal tix, and the Universal sight for 2 , is about $200 with the $3 shipping and $11 tax


Ticketmania site has free shipping for a limited time.... that and no tax, makes me feel a little better....

FYI - The ticketmania prices already include tax in the numbers they are posting.

But I haven't found any site that is better than Disney Club prices.

Recently there was a report on TV exposing problems with those tickets purchased off site. Most were bad tickets! Disney punched a hole in them once they were confiscated at the gates, to invalidate them. Innocent families could just not go in the parks because it is illegal to resale tickets once issued by Disney.

I didn't see the show on buying the bad tickets, but have read about it on these boards. The tickets they were talking about (in that particular show anyway, as I understand it) were tickets that actually belonged to individuals, had some unused days left on them, were sold to unscrupulous folks in parking lots, and were re-sold to unsuspecting tourists by the unscrupulous folks.

Sorry if I made a mistake about Ticketmania including sales tax. I thought they did not, but appear have been mistaken.

As far as whether Ticketmania sells usable tickets, I have only read one post (in the Universal Studios forum) by someone who used them and said there was no problem. Mine arrived pronto, but we have not used them yet. If you're interested in Ticketmania in particular, try doing a search and see if there are any negative posts or other posts from people who have actually used the tickets.

barbnbrian, the website you referred to concerns me for several reasons: 1) although it says it's a secure browser, my status bar does not indicate that it is. (The little lock icon.) I'm not sure whether I can trust the cc info to be secure; 2) Prices do not include sales tax, as do all other sites. This seems a bit (deliberately?) misleading. 3) It gives you two options for delivery: a) to your hotel room, for an extra 5 bucks; or b) you can pick them up at the "Official Ticket Center in Orlando." Where that is, I haven't a clue, nor could I find the address on the website. Hmmmm. 4) It does not list a c/s number. 5) On the form to purchase tickets, it does not clearly list the price.

FWIW, I'd stick with a reputable vendor. One who's been around awhile, one who offers a secure browser, one who lists their address AND phone number for questions, one who posts their prices clearly with no hidden costs. One who will mail the tickets to you in advance should you choose. And preferably someone who has been recommended by other people.

BTW, I researched ticket prices quite extensively and found that FloridaTravelOnline and FloridaOrlandoTickets offer fairly comparable prices on Disney tickets. I'd lean towards the latter personally, because they offer a $39.95/family Watermania price (for up to 4 kids!) that FloridaTravelOnline doesn't offer, because they have the BBB seal on their site, because they clearly list their prices, because they've been around for 14 years, because they clearly list their c/s number and address, AND because they offer a secure Yahoo credit card processing.

Gratuitous plug: The DreamRes prices, which are listed at the top of this board, are quite attractive and would save you quite a bit of money were you to book a room through them. I booked through Disney. Rats.

If you check out Connections123.com, they offer a 4-day Park Hopper Plus pass - the only place I've ever seen it. It's ~$200, if IIRC, for an adult and includes one Plus feature. This is the same price other sites offer for just the 4-day Park Hopper with no Plus features. Order thru them and it's like getting free admission to BB.

It's too late to do this now probably, but I would also recommend getting a premium credit card for future trips. I have a Kroger visa card where you accumulate reward points for every dollar you spend. One of the rewards is $50 gift certificates for Marriott properties. I charge just about everything I can, including my property taxes, in order to accumulate points. (Note: this only makes economic sense if you pay your card off every month.) There's no annual fee for this card.

Using my rewards, I've earned $250 in Marriott gift certificates that can be used for overnight stays when we drive a long distance. Nothing like a free night!
