Discounted Annual Passes

I need all my smart DVC buddies to help me.

Several years ago we bought 1 day MYW tickets (required to purchase for free dining).

If I am understanding this from CM CF
If you purchased your ticket at less than the current gate price, and your ticket has not been used, you will have to pay the difference between what Disney actually sold the ticket for and the current gate price of the ticket you are upgrading to. It is always best to use one day from the old pass prior to taking it for an upgrade; you will then have locked in the current gate price as the value of the old pass.

I would use that one day MYW ticket and while at the park, after I enter and before I leave, use it towards my PAP and will get full value of what 1 day costs now (as opposed to what it was in 2008).

Sound right?

I am working regular hours. DH is back to full salary. I am going to try like heck to save up enough to get passes for our December 2013 trip.

Can I upgrade YES tickets to an AP? Yay Claire! :woohoo:

No - YES tickets are not upgradable. If we hadn't already ordered our YES tickets we would get the discounted PAPs.

Yes, that's correct for what you posted.

What if I have a 1 day MYW ticket not used yet. Can I trade that in ( for full value) and purchase the PAP voucher?

So excited about this offer! We have 2 trips planned this year (which is a first for us!) so perfect timing:cool1:

Question: Do you have to be physically in the park to activate a ticket? Logic tells me that you do but hey, ya never know! Maybe you can activate over the phone:confused:I know I might be grasping at straws...thx

Yes, activating the ticket means taking your voucher and exchanging it for a live AP at a ticket window.

Not quite a member yet but was just curious about our situation. My dad passed away back in March. In his will he gave it to me and my brother and sister. Apparently it is in the final stages of probate where after that it goes to Disney and the 3 of us become members. I keep seeing that to be eligible you have to live in the household but we will have 3 households. How does Disney handle this situation?

If you are all three listed as owners on the deed, you will (all 3 of you) be considered members. So, in essence, the membership will have three "households".

If everything gets settled and the contract is in the system, you will all three be eligible for the DVC benefits and perks, including the DVC PAP promotion. Hope it all gets done before 12/31/2012 if any of you are interested in this pass.

I am assuming all 3 siblings were named in the will, so the deed would titled the same way, with all 3 names. Each named on the deed would receive their own membership card.

I expect that each card carrying member could get the discount for their respective households. The member needs to present their membership card and photo ID, as does each adult they are getting the discount for (photo ID, that is.)

I have a trip planned for 10/13 so I have 28 days. My fingers are crossed. But if not I'm just happy to go down there and enjoy the wonderful gift mom and dad left us.

I can't believe they raked us over the coals again, taking away another member perk it used to be we would get a discount on APs, now there.........er, wait a second.......they're offering us a $300 discount on APs? Well look at that....they're doing something nice for DVC members. pixiedust:

To quote my one coworker who always finds the negative in every situation.....they're only offering this discount now so that next year they can take it away from us.

Here's one for you:

We arrive Sept 22 with 10 day hoppers + waterparks (approx $399) On Oct 1 (day 10) can we upgrade to the new $399 PAP? I understand you cannot downgrade and it looks like the PAP is actually about $1 less. Any ideas?

I guess I don't know the answer to this but it would seem to me if you've used all 10 days on your hoppers, they won't have any value to apply to the PAP. For anyone more knowledgeable, is that true?
