We are arriving Sept 29th and have 10 day hoppers so plan to upgrade to the PAP on October 1st. Now my question is if I buy the discounted PAP and I want to upgrade to the Premier Pass bc we live in Los Angeles, do you think they will give us the full value of the PAP towards the upgrade or only discounted price we paid? Would be awesome for us as it would be a very minimal price to upgrade to the Premier.
Thanks

ARRGGGG!!!!! We arrive on September 29th, of course. Planned on getting APs that day.![]()
Rats..
We already made non-disney plans... Had I known, I would have maximized trips....
Sounds like a good deal for folks... especially for those who want to go see cars in DL.

This may be slightly OT but I've upgraded from park hoppers to AP in the past, both before and after we became DVC members and always got credit for the actual amount paid for the park hoppers. What is it about the UT tickets that give you credit for more than what you actually paid? Is this the "bridge"?

So basically if i have $1200 laying around I should buy these tickets (3 people) for our trip in November and save our previously purchased AP vouchers until next november year.
Is this correct??![]()

I'm pretty sure what I'm planning to do will work. I haven't seen this scenario come up in the thread, but maybe I missed it. If anyone sees a problem with it, let me know.
We arrive on 9/23. I'll be getting DVC discounted APs on 9/24. We have 7 days in the parks with my sister and her family, so we weren't planning to do the water parks or DQ while they were there. I'm planning to upgrade to the PAP on 10/1 so we can use the water parks and DQ for our last few days and our next trip. I'm not expecting a refund (even thought the new discounted PAP will be less than the current AP), I'm just thinking that I'll be able to upgrade without paying an additional fee. Is that right?

As long as the CMs follow the rules. There are occasional threads where a guest was denied ticket bridging because a CM was misinformed or on a power trip (and worse, refused to check with a supervisor) and then Cheshire Figment (a CM in ticketing) will reply that the CM was wrong, the CM handbook or Hub has the bridging procedure that CMs are supposed to follow.Quick answer: We won't know until we see it. Prepare yourself for it to go either way.
Long answer: Disney may deny the upgrade with special pricing since the activation date would have to be pushed back to the date of first use which would be before the 10/1 start date of this promotion. It's really all in how Disney handles those little details & the fact that some folk are upgrading within the 14 day upgrade restriction applied to MYW expiring passes.
I do wish everyone wanting to try this and the MYW upgrade luck and a compassionate Disney! Please don't take it out on the CMs if the answer is no - my son used to be one of them back in the college program - it's not their fault if they're just following rules.![]()
I think we will just stay with our AP renewals. A few $$ more, but I don't want to have to renew a PAP next year if we get the PAP's this year. We would have to get a new AP - not renewal.
new AP- $452 vs AP renewal $410. We have 5 of us so the PAP would save us $55 this year but cost us almost $210 next year.
We don't do DQ and still have Waterpark passes from old 10day non -expire tickets for 3 of us.
Am I missing something here??
If you get the PAP this year, you can downgrade to an AP at renewal time at the AP renewal rate.
