Discounted Annual Passes - Information and Official Exchange Thread

Thanks for the welcome!! I am a little confused?? The first few posts said they could be used with the DVC discount. Was that incorrect?? :confused3

Wasn't trying to be greedy just read the first few posts and saw the words... "can be combined with the DVC discount""

I only need to buy AP's for my immediate family, so if they can't be combined then I guess I don't need one! Thanks though!

Check out this thread. It looks like the DVC pass is eligible for the discount.

I would love to share them, but we haven't yet gotten our Mickey Monitor. Are we the last ones? :rolleyes1

Me neither and I've already promised someone on another board 1 of my coupons, so it better come soon!

But I'm happy to share the others too!

It does not say that you can't combine it with other discounts, so until I heard otherwise I'd believe Cheshire Figment's info that it can be used to purchase DVC discounted APs. It's just not good for renewals. The intent obviously is to get more AP holders out there -- therefore more trips -- therefore more $$ for Disney! So allowing both the 10% discount and the DVC price would be logical, I think -- but I've been burned before applying logic to Disney transactions!

Although DVC members can buy APs at lower prices than the general public, the DVC pass appears to be a separate animal. CMs don't sell us APs with a DVC discount applied--they sell us a full price DVC AP.

I can't speak from personal experience (yet!) but all signs point toward members being able to use the 10% discount, too.

Ahhh - didn't think of it that way...thank you.

Cmbar - sent you a PM.

I have 10% AP Coupons left. You can purchase up to 6 passes on one card. If you need one, just pm me with your address, and I can mail it out tomorrow (Friday May 8th). Thanks so much!! :)

Although I have an annual pass, I never got the Mickey Monitor :sad2:.
Is there any way someone could pass one on? Can they be e-mailed? If not, I guess I'll just have to buy my daughter's AP without the discount. We're leaving on Saturday.

There is a way to do it. Unfortunately, I can't find the thread to link to it. Since you are already an AP holder, I think you can go to Guest Services after you purchase your daughter's AP and get a refund. It is worth it to check it out.

If I get mine in, I will be happy to pass mine along, since I will not be getting new Annual Passes till May of next year.

Does anyone know of a way to get the credit retroactively? Supposedly, the discount and gift card began on May 3. I bought an AP on May 3 and no one mentioned it to me. DH even had to present his AP, which began last October, because she needed the DVC # and I forgot my card. With our luck, we'll get home and find the coupon in the Mickey Monitor. So any chance, or are we SOL (Sugar Out of Luck).

Hi
Both myself and my grand daugher each got some

If anyone still need them just pm me

Going in June and if anyone has 5 coupons we would love to have them!

Thanks,
Jen

You only need one coupon because they are each good for up to 6 tickets.

We're also coming up on renewal time for our APs...what's the Mickey Monitor? I, too, would be grateful if anyone has an extra coupon they'd share--promise to respond immediately to a PM...

Is a Mickey Monitor something anyone can get?

Thanks!
They aren't good on renewals, only on new A/Ps

Hmmm - I'm not sure...here is what the back of the card says: "Savings applied to non-discounted price of a Disney Annual or Premium Annual Pass"

I guess I'm taking that as you can't use your DVC discount, but please someone correct me if I'm wrong. :confused3

I've read elsewhere that you CAN use the coupons with the DVC priced A/P. It was something to the effect of the DVC price not being considered a discount but rather the full price for DVC members... if that makes sense.

I still have not received my Mickey Monitor but would be happy to pass along my coupons when they arrive.

Hey there gang! All right, I FINALLY got my MM yesterday and let me tell you...I have been waiting for that thing for months!

I have 4 10% discount cards that I would LOVE to share with anyone interested in getting annual passes. You must purchase your pass between May 1, 2009-July 31, 2009 ONLY at Walt Disney World Theme Park Main Entrance ticket windows. However, you cannot use these for renewals and they are valid for up to 6 passes per card...too bad, right? :sad2:

Anyway, if you are interested please let me know and I will be more than happy to send them out your way!

Happy 'World Hopping'!

Maggie

I wonder why some Mickey Monitors are coming with the passes and some are not? :confused3 My DH and I each got the passes (all have been mailed out to fellow DIS members as of yesterday.) We've been A/P holders for awhile though. I wonder if they are sending the cards to people who have had A/P's for longer than a certain time? I don't know if Disney even tracks that info, if they could tell that AP's have been renewed several times vs. people with brand new A/P's. Otherwise it makes no sense why some would get the discount coupons (passes) and others not.

Hi, folks:

First, thanks to all who have offered to share their coupons w/us...As AP holders, we "should" get our own--but we haven't gotten the AP "newsletter" (I must admit, I think of it as an advertising flyer and rarely do more than just skim it), but nothing has arrived yet...but a couple of nice folks have offered to mail us coupons...(and I promise to use those, even if we get our own, so those nice people can get their gift cards if they work for us)...

We are going to WDW next week (we arrive 5/16)...I will try to use the coupons then, and will post to let you know what happens...

We may not qualify--first, our APs qualify for a renewal discount. I'll compare prices to see if the 10% discount is a better deal than the renewal discount, and will find out if can still get our $100 DVC discount. I'll also find out if the new AP purchase can be used to start after this promotion ends--our APs expire in November; if it's less expensive to use the coupons plus the DVC discount to buy a voucher that we can trade in in November, we'll do it...however, if we have to activate the APs "on the spot" it won't work for us, because we still have six months left on our current APs...

In any event, assuming the coupons you-all have so generously offered to share w/us arrive before we leave (early 5/16), I'll try it and see what happens and will post about my experience.

Will likely have and use my laptop while we're there...so likely I'll have something to post by 5/17 (we may not go to a park 5/16, our arrival day)...but if something goes wrong w/internet access while we're there, I'll post when we get back (after Memorial Day)...

Thanks again for all your generosity...

Dani
