Discounted Annual Passes - Information and Official Exchange Thread

In the May/Summer 2009 Mickey Monitor for AP holders, there is/are "Pass Along Savings Cards".

If you pass the card onto someone who purchases APs with it, they get 10% including their DVC discount AND you get $25 gift card for each AP they purchase between May 1-July 31 - in person at WDW only.

Just thought you'd want to know before you put it on the too read later pile.

I am buying 4 annual passes on July 5th.

Anyone who has a card to give me I would be forever grateful...:lovestruc

I am all set...:thumbsup2
Thank You to everyone who replied...
:disrocks:

Do you think that they might extend the time period for this? The time window is pretty short and you have to be at WDW to use this offer.

We're going in August and would love to convert our tickets to APs.

There was a post on here earlier about that and it said that you can't do that, I think you just got lucky with that CM.

Suzanne

Ironically, I'm the one that posted that earlier. I called once before and spoke with somebody on the general WDW line that you would call to book a vacation. That person was just reading from a script and didn't know anything in particular about APs. I called a specific number for Passholders this morning and got somebody who wasn't reading to me from a script and who fully understood the questions I was asking. The amiable CM yesterday hadn't even heard of the Passalong savings discount card. Anyhow, I think a lesson learned here is that you can't always take the first CM's opinion/answer as set in stone. It never hurts to get a second opinion!

When you call Walt Disney World, unless you really know a direct number, you will get one of two offices.

The Disney Reservations Center (DRC) includes Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC), Central Reservations Office (CRO), Disney Dining, and some other lesser known information lines. To the best of my knowledge the DRC locations are in the International Drive area, Tampa, Houston, Salt Lake City and somewhere in North Carolina. There may be more. Some of the people working at the DRC call centers may never have been to either WDW or DL (or both).

The Main Switchboard (407-824-2222) is also where all calls to Disney Resorts go if you are dialing the phone number on the back of your reservations form. Also that is where calls go if you dial the Operator from your room, and possibly even calls to the Front Desk. The Main Switchboard people will, if asked, also identify themselves as Guest Services. They can put you through to any number on WDW.

At both DRC and MS they have access to a computer which has lots of Guest Information and it is very well organized. Actually, all CMs who have access to a terminal, or who even can access the "Cast Portal" from off-site, have access to this Guest Services information. I will often open an extra window when I am responding to people and go into the Portal for the latest official information.

The people at DRC and MS do not deal with upgrades, partially used tickets, or problems related to tickets. They do not know all the rules. The people at DRC can sell unused tickets; the people at MS don't deal with tickets at all.

The people who work in the ticket booths at the Parks or in Guest Relations at the Parks (and this includes TTC, the Water Parks, and GRO in DTD) deal with ticket upgrades and unusual problems on a daily basis. I would not say that someone you talked to on the phone lied to you, but just they were attempting to answer a question when they really did not have an answer.

I would like to have one of these cards! I'll make you $125 as I need 5 APs. PM me if you have an extra one. Thanks! :goodvibes

ETA: I have one coming to me - thanks everyone! What a good deal for everyone!

When my Mickey Monitor comes, I will be happy to offer up all 4 of my referral cards :)
Just PM me if you want one and I will mail them out to the first 4 people I hear from :wizard:

I'm leaving in two days and, unless the MM gets here tomorrow, I'll have to miss out on the 10% discount. :(

Let me se if I understand this. Hubby & I have DVC annual passes. If I use a card to buy an annual pass for our nephew (who recently moved in with us), we can get the 10% discount and a $25 gift card for the referral? Or does it have to be for someone outside of your household? The nephew has never had an annual pass before.

There was a post on the Budget Board that said they got their Mickey Monitor in the mail yesterday. Hopefully everyone elses will start showing up now.

My family just joined DVC and will be making our first trip over Memorial Day. We planned on buying 3 APs while there. Would anyone be willing to send me one of the Pass-Along Savings cards they get with their Mickey Monitor!? We will need it before we leave on May 21st.

Based on what I read in a previous post the current AP holder will receive a $25 Disney Gift Card for EACH AP purchased under the program.

Thanks!

I would be happy to! We will also be there starting May 22. However, we haven't gotten them in the mail yet, and I am not sure when they are coming.

Do you know when the Mickey Monitor usually comes?

I will PM you my information. Again, I am new to all of this, but it is my understanding that they are mailed out this month. We are driving down from Northern VA and will arrive on the 22nd as well. We are staying at BWV for 2 nights and AKV for 1 night -- unless my WL goes through :)
