Discounted Annual Passes - Information and Official Exchange Thread

Thanks....I figure it can be done...but, it just sounds like a disaster in the making. (Bridging ticket and applying 2 discounts)

Now...I have to figure out which ticket to get so that the numbers work out right.

Speed :teleport:

Let's see if this works.

I'm trying to link a chart I made to help me evaluate my options.

I did double check the FAQs...you cannot upgrade a Seasonal Pass to an Annual Pass, or an Annual Pass to a Premium, using this offer - but nothing about upgrading MYW passes...in the end I believe the point is that you must end up with a "new" Annual Pass.

Cheshire Figment does say this in the very first post

Upgrades from MYW tickets to AP or PAP are allowed with this offer. If you upgrade from a MYW ticket purchased from a discounter, the normal upgrade rules apply in that Disney will absorb the difference between what the original ticket was purchased for and the current gate price of that ticket. (This is known as "price bridging".)

Right...I was just referring to what was said in the official FAQs as well as further confirmation.

I cannot figure out the best discount to get when upgrading to a DVC Annual Pass.... Anyone else have any thoughts?

:)

If anyone has an extra card, please pm me we will be getting 6 annual passees at the end of this month. Thnaks :)

OK, that didn't work, I'll have to try it another way.

Well this looks awful

I am trying to do the math on this tonight also. :) I don't think you can get cash back from Disney if your ticket goes over they will just call it a wash and not give you money back.

I am thinking about going with the 5 day park hopper with no expiration. I think it is the best I can do... but 10% will be taken before the DVC discount of 100 off or after?

:goodvibes

The 10% should be taken off the DVC AP price. That price is $100 less than a standard (Tourist I believe is the term now) AP. Don't think of the DVC price as being a discount.

And I would not expect any money back is the destination ticket is less than the original. Ideally, you should price it so that you pay as little at the gate as possible, but you would still pay - otherwise you are wasting money. There were a few exceptions when looking at DVC APs upgraded from 4/3 tickets...

I am leaving the end of the week and am also looking for a discount card. Please PM me if you have one available.

Thanks!

For computation purposes, here are the prices for the various allowed passes, including tax. Note I could not get these to line up properly, so I bolded the alternate columns.

Type of Pass Adult AP Child AP Adult PAP Child PAP

Tourist 449.54 396.82 574.14 506.09

Florida Resident 344.11 302.89 459.12 404.49

DVC Member 353.69 312.47 454.33 400.65

These prices are for new passes only, not renewals.

Thanks for the information.. You are always so helpful on all the ticket information. thanks for taking the time to post. :)

I will be purchasing 6 DVC APs in June if anyone is willing to offer me a referral card.

Thanks!

I will be purchasing 2 new AP's in June. If anyone would like to pass along a referral card I would use it in June.

Wow. What a great promotion. It's definitely a win-win situation for everyone involved. I'll have three savings cards available when I get my MM. PM me if you're interested.

So...if I bring a pass (for example...5 Day Parkhopper) that was used once to get into a park...the CM will just bridge the price up to the gate price and charge me the difference between the DVC Member price ($353.69) and the new bridged/gate price...correct?

I was just concerned that the CM might have to do all kinds of complicated math...like, bridge the price....then, do a regular AP pass and subtract the DVC discount and then subtract the 10%...etc...etc...and that would cause mass confusion.

Thanks for the clarification on the prices, Cheshire. Now, I'm off to do calculations on which ticket will work best without going over the price. I feel like I'm on Price is Right :)

Disney does not expect the ticket sellers to do their own math. For example, the Automated Ticketing System Computer shows every variety of ticket (and it is well organized) that can be issued with the price including tax. These special price tickets all have the word "refer" in the description to differentiate them from regular tickets.

For example a five day hopper, including tax, is worth 289.68 so you would have to pay $64.01 at the gate. If you had purchased the ticket at a discount it would have to be bridged, but if you purchased it directly from Dsney it would already have that value and it would be a straight upgrade.

I am so frustrated. I'm a passholder and have never received a Mickey Monitor magazine. So I called the number suggested on the Passholder site to ask them to send me the magazine. Seriously...I spoke to 7 CMs this morning at that 407-560-PASS number and not a single one could help me. Anyone have any other suggestions? I tried sending an email but I'm not thinking that I'm going to get a response.

Ok, maybe I am stupid, but correct me if I am understanding wrong please.
If I already have a 7day MYW base ticket that I bought from UT, and I use one day of the ticket, THEN I upgrade on the next day to an AP, I only have to pay the difference in the gate price of a 7day base ticket and the regular AP, right?
I do NOT pay the difference in the gate price of a 7day Base and the UT price of a 7day base if I do it this way?

THEN, if I get a referral card from one of you nice people, I can take off another 10% of the AP price? Is this 10% of the new DVC AP price or 10% of the regular new AP price?

So confusing....:confused3

Hey everyone, I still have 2 cards available (when the MM comes) for anyone who is interested. Please PM me if you want one ;)
