Discounted Airline Coming to Bangor this Fall...

It is about time. Bangor Maine is getting a discounted airline with nonstop flights to Florida for as low $99 one way!:Those of us in NB and NS, could use a discounted carrier!

"BANGOR, Maine - Bangor International Airport will get its first discount carrier when Allegiant Air begins nonstop service to Orlando, Fla., this November, officials said Wednesday.


The twice-weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, will be offered with an introductory fare as low as $89 one way, Allegiant officials said. After the introductory fare period expires, regular fares will start as low as $99 each way."

Portland has been stealing a lot of business away from Bangor because of the low fare airlines flying from PWM. This is a good chance for BGR to keep some of their locals from driving further south; at least those headed to Florida. And certainly for those of you in New Brunswick, this brings decent fares to the Mouse a bit closer! Keep in mind that Orlando Sanford International Airport is really only practical if you had planned to rent a car anyway. If you're planning to take a taxi or limo then all you saved probably just went out the window.

The agent tonight told me that springbreak could be as low as $79!
