Discount with DDP?

I keep seeing something about a 20% discount when you have a DDP, but I don't see the details. What is this exactly? Is it just for the DDP, or does it work with the QSDP, too? Thanks!

You may be referring to Tables in Wonderland, not DDP. Completely different program. Tables in Wonderland is a dining discount program available only to annual passholders and Florida residents. Purchase of a year's membership gives the member 20% off their full bill at most WDW TS restaurants and a few CS, except on major holidays.

OR, you may have seen Disney's advertising stating you can save "up to" 20% on dining if you purchase a Disney dining plan. That's just Disney trying to sell the plan. The important part of that is the "up to" because the actual discount you get, if any, depends entirely on how you use the plan.

My guess is that you're seeing the advertisements that refer to 20% off using the Disney Dining Plan. I believe that ad refers to the fact that you COULD be saving money (off of paying for all the same food out of pocket) simply by purchasing the DP at the regular price.

So, for example - adult DP for one night is $46 per night. So let's say you bought it for one night.

And with it you got:
1 snack for $3.50
1 CS meal (BBQ ribs at Cosmic Ray's) for $9.69
drink with cs for $2.49
dessert with cs (carrot cake) for $3.59
1 TS meal (chef mickey dinner) for $38.33

TOTAL would be $57.60 which $46 would be just about 20% off that price.

Of course the whole ad assumes that you would be ordering all of this if paying Out of Pocket. But yes, in theory and by ordering expensive items on the menus - you could be saving 20% by paying for the Dining Plan instead.
