Discount when a resort is full?

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a discount when a resort is completely full? I have a stay booked mid-October and am hoping there might be an AP discount. In the past I've been able to get a discount on an already booked reservation, but the resort had not been completely full. If a discount does become available, would even be worth calling?

It depends on the cast member. We have usually been able to get them to do a price match. If it's a limited time promo of say 100 people or so, your out of luck. I've called as soon as I get the email and they've told me that promotional numbers had been hit two days previously. Disney seems to send the emails out in waves or so it seems by my families experience.

Most likely not. I don't see an AP discount being offered in October this year. The regular discount was slim pickings so AP and Fl Resident will probably be even smaller.

There's not (yet) one available for our dates. I was told by a CM about a month ago that a passholder discount would be available in the future. Even there is one, though, it's unlikely it would be available at the CR (where we're staying). I was not able to get the current general public discount applied to our reservation. I thought perhaps the resort being full had something to do with it. I guess I just have to wait and see what happens.

I know they aren't available now. I was saying at this point in the game I see no reason for WDW to even offer one. It is almost with in the 60 day window for all of October so people staying on property know if they are coming or not. No real reason to draw anyone in right now with Halloween and Food and Wine.

It's always worth calling when a discount is released. No one will know what is in the discount inventory until the promo is released.

I will say that if you are having trouble getting the general public discount, you might have issues getting an AP discount your resort/room type.

I know that I have been lucky and the resorts I already had booked had availability for me to book the AP discount where I was already staying. I had considered moving before the AP discounts came out and the resorts that did not have the general public discount available did not have the AP discounts once those came out.

Thanks! I guess the only thing to do is just to wait and see. It sounds like even though the resort is completely booked for our dates, that doesn't necessarily mean it would be excluded from a discount. I think it's probably unlikely that there will be a discount at all but who knows. It would be a nice thing to have but won't make or break our plans.
