Discount on MYW tickets using Disney Visa?

I just booked the Segway tour and the discount was only 15% with the Disney Visa card. (Same as DVC discount)

Also be aware that if you cancel the card, any Disney reward dollars that you have accumulated or have on a card will be LOST. Use them up first

even if you don't USE the card, still hang on to it and use it every so many months for a purchase or two. that way, you're still entitled to any kind of discounts they offer (like the Segway tour and such)

and for the poster with the Toy's R Us card, you earn 1% everywhere and 4% at TRU & BRU...we have that card and just stopped using it in lieu of the Disney Visa. (DS is outgrowing TRU pretty quickly....didn't really buy too much at TRU this past Christmas!)

So I filled out the survey provided by disney visa the other night and I noticed one of the questions said "did you know when you purchase your MYW tickets using disney visa card you save 10%". Well I didn't know this, how do I go about applying this discount? Does it just happen automatically on bill or do they want a code put in somewhere. I looked on the disney visa reward site and don't see any mention of it.

Thanks for the help!

What I've heard is that in order to gauge true awareness of the card's benefits, a list was created that mixed true and untrue benefits together, which is fairly typical in research studies. Apparently one of the “untrue” benefits listed in this survey was a 10% discount on theme park tickets.

that's a pity, cuz so many more people would be able to afford to go to WDW....don't they realize this??

I have the card, but have never used it because of the low incentive. Citicard is paying me 5% (sometimes 6%) at grocery store and gas station. I got the Disney Visa because they gave me $100 Disney Dollars when I signed up. I have never used it since. I would love to hear of discounts on park tix! :cool1: Please keep this thread going until we know for sure.

I have been considering canceling my Disney Visa for a while. I have NEVER used it.
I used to ask, at Disney shops (both in the parks and in the mall) if I got a discount with the Disney Visa. When they said no, I would pull out my Discover. Finally I quit asking, and just started using the Discover.

I didn't get anything special when I signed up for the card. I got it because I expected Disney discounts, like their old club used to have (the one that I got free through my employer). When they did away with the club, they mentioned that it was being replaced by the Disney Visa. But that was just a marketing joke.

If they do offer a 10% discount on tickets, I might keep my card.
It would give me a way to get some discount if I waited until I got to parks to purchase the tickets.
A discount off the advance purchase price would be even nicer.

"I have had the Disney credit card for about 6mths and I have never seen double rewards. How do you get them?"

You have to be among the chosen, they sent us a card (RE: Your Account Ending in XXXX), explaining how we could receive the double rewards. We're one of those lucky families who have to spend $1000 or more on the spending categories in a calendar month before the double rewards kick in. :guilty: We normally spend $2,000 a month, so obviously they are watching your spending habits before making a double rewards offer to you. We used our rewards for our trip last month and now I've quit using the Disney Visa. Saving for my next Disney trip with my Citi Dividend Card now, making about $20 cash back per month (on just every day purchases, not $2,000), plan on putting my first $50 cash back check in an ING account next month. ~:)~

I have had the card since it first came out, I am a "charter member" and I think it stinks. I am going to cancel. I have never gotten any discounts, and for a while was using my card very regularly. WHen I finally got my hands on a double rewards offer it was like $2500 in a calender month...give me freakin break....I am a frequent park visitor 2-3 times a year as well as a frequent cruiser and still nothing....

when you call to book a tour (WDW-TOURS) tell them you have a Disney Visa. That's all it takes!

I'm glad to read that others are less-than-impressed - I signed up just to receive any possible discounts/rewards - I use another card that pays cash rewards as my primary card - so I've only earned around 20 Disney points -

How do I go about "cashing in" my points if I want to cancel?

If you are registered online, there is a link to request your rewards there. If not, just call the number on the back of your card and they will issue you a rewards card (you tell them what amount of your rewards you want on the card). The rewards card will then expire 12/31 of the year after the year you request it. Be sure and use your rewards before you cancel the card, otherwise you lose them.

how do you find out how much youhave to spend in certain categories to be eligible for double rewards? i have never seen anything about it except here in this thread... and i've had my disney visa for a year now!

ETA: i see the answer was posted near the end of the thread... that'll teach me for not reading all the way thru before posting!! so, i should not rip up any correspondence that comes from credit card companies before reading them? oops ;)

I do hope that they will take these survey results seriously. We deserve discounts don't we!!!!?????? They should at least make their offers competitive with those of other credit cards.
