Discount on D23 Membership

I was browsing the member website, and under what is new section it listed:

Special Member Discount on D23 Membership now through December 31!

But there is no link to any instructions or information. I am looking to join D23 and get the Expo tickets before the price goes up. Does anyone know how to get the discount?

You will probably have to contact MS to get the code. There was a discount back in September and that code was on the member website.

Just called MS, they said they are having problem with their website. Told me to try it again later.

There hasn't been a link on that since it went up on the news page. The code is on the back page of the Winter 2010 Disney Files Magazine. Board policy prevents it from being posted here.

..and I am waiting until January to renew to be sure I get the watch as the gift instead of the calendar which I already have. I just don't trust them not to mess it up and send the wrong gift...

When join D23 you get a welcome gift..they have pictures of the items on the join D23 page. Last year when we renewed we got a very cool calendar that was, I think, 20 months..with designed but never realized attractions at Disneyland. This year they are showing a fairly cool watch. I have heard someone renewed and got the calendar again..I think the site says when you renew in 2011 you get the watch..(of course that should be your year renewal, not the actual year, but just to be sure I'll wait. I'm a charter first day member so have until March to renew)
Why should someone join? Well..they do have a lovely large well done quarterly magazine that sells for $15.00 an issue at Barnes and Noble. They also usually send a nice little gift with each issue. They have some discounts, but nothing much if you already have other stuff like AP and DVC. The biggest reason to join is if you'd like to attend their events/. I've gone to 2. The Expo in 09 and Destination D and the Scavenger Hunt this year. Both were wonderful expereinces. I'm booked for the Expo next year and am already looking forward to that. So..check it out and see if you'd like it.
