Discount Help Please

Hello there. I know you all know everything there is to know about WDW so I thought I would ask for some help with all these discounts and good rates I keep hearing about.

My trip is planned for 4/17/06 to 4/23/06. Regular rate season starts on 4/17 for the deluxes so that's why I picked it.

I am looking at staying at any of the deluxes besides Swan and Dolphin.

I am not a AAA member, and I don't have an AP. I do work for the goverment though, but I dont know if there are goverment discounts for any of the hotels besides Swan and Dolphin.

I would really appreciate any help that anyone can provide. Thanks a lot

I just booked my trip at a deluxe and was told regular season starts on 4/23. I would check the dates because I wanted to go during the dates you listed and they were charging me peak rates. It was about $1500 more.

If you don't have any other choices show up it might be worth it to join AAA just for the discount. We are going for 7 nights to CR and Poly (split stay) and the AAA rate was $50 per night less than the rack rate or $350 savings for the whole trip. Not bad for a membership that cost about $50.

You have choosen PEAK season to visit WDW. As other posters mentioned, AAA might be your only option. But since you are going the week of EASTER, have you checked the website for availability. This might help you make up your mind. I personally would choose a resort you can afford and book it and if a discount comes out try to apply it later. We choose April 23 to start our vacation to avoid the Easter crowds. And again, if you are definite about visiting this time of year, you need to make your dining plans very soon, unless you enjoy counter service. I just finished making all of my dining plans for the week after yours and some places were hard to get into and I'm not going peak season.

I thought this was the week AFTER easter.

I guess we are going to delay this until next year. Hrmph.
