Discount codes for September 06

I know this has most likely been answered 1001 times BUT I cannot find the answer! So I will thank you all in advance for putting up with my ignorance so nicely. I am planning to visit WDW for a week in September. We are following that week up with a weeklong cruise so my dates are pretty much set in stone. Sept. 16- Sept 23.

My question is this...about when will discount codes for that time of year start to pop up? Would you (if it were you) wait on making reservations until the deals started to crop up or would you make your ressies now and be all set? I am not really worried about anything selling out (not picky about our hotel so long as it is a Disney hotel...we have stayed at AKL and ASM and loved them both equally). Another question, are many discounts offered that are no good with exsisting reservations? Last question (I promise) where am I most likely to see these codes start to show up? **Which thread would be a good one to suscribe too for that?**
