I checked online today to see if there was availability at POP for our dates....I was suprised as previously only preferred rates were showing. It was the same for Movies.

Probably is right then that people have changed dates due to free dining....

I hope we do hear something soon, I would be surprised if they will start the free dining earlier and this would really upset a lot of people that have switched their dates to get it. A room discount would be lovely though .

I'm secretly hoping for this too. That is why I cancelled my 3 rooms a pop for mid-August. Hoping others will be moving to September and lock in their trips with airfare. Then maybe there will be more dates added later. While I do believe this is highly unlikely, I've given up trying to guess what Disney will no next. I'm going regardless, but am now booked at OWK using my DVC points and will pay for the DDP which is actually cheaper than buying packages for us at Pop, but I had to use my precious points for the group going.

I was able to take advantage of the free dining plan last August and it was pretty good. Disney would usually offer room discounts previously at that time and it helped. So to get the dining plan instead of the room discount works out to be almost the same as if you get a room discount and bought food. They are still getting about the same money in the long run. I hope they offer either one for early August otherwise we'll have to budget for off property.

After reading the Port Orleans discount thread, I called CRO. I got a pop-up discount. It required me to switch from Coronado Springs waterview to Port Orleans standard. I added dining, (which I planned on doing anyway!) and saved $740 for 9 nights, Aug 5-14th. I am extremely pleased with this discount! I wish you good luck in finding your discount, too!

We are also booked at CSR Aug. 18-26th (no free dining for us) and since our plane fares for two are costing about $1,000...we really could use a discount, even if we have to switch resorts. Can you help me find it? Thanks in advance!!!!

I'm pretty sure it's not a "code" discount. Sounds like the luck of the draw when you call CRO, something just pops up on their screen offering a discount. Doesn't happen for every caller. But maybe if you call and ask about Port Orleans you might get lucky!
