Discount application difficulties

Maybe I missed a spot where this discount was listed but I'm having difficulty getting it set up in the reservation system.

We're planning on going Jan. 5-14/2012 and we wanted free dining. The ones we've seen for free dining start on the 8th but this one shows as starting on the 2nd. Am I doing something wrong that is preventing this from applying to my reservation searches? :confused3

It is not a free dining package at all.
But I called and told guy that I saw some packages offered at this site.
Saturday I was quoted a value room at $632.80.
4 base tickets would be $1273.76 total for 5 days
TOTAL: $1906

Today he said I could get a package of same room and tickets for $1672.83. That's a savings of $233.00.

To add Qquick dining would be $700 total (is that the normal price??)

THANKS!

Those are simply full priced packages. Not sure how you came out to calculate a "savings." The price should be the same each time you call -- It's quite likely that there is some different between the 2 packages. Perhaps parkhopper tickets were accidentally included the first time.

QS dining is $35 per adult, per night. For most people, it would be cheaper to pay for QS meals out of pocket. Unless you absolutely LOVE the mug.

I guess i thought it was a savings because the first prices added up to more. Who knows? I am ready to bag it.

The prices you get when you call should be the same as you can get online. Provided, all choices are the same. Frequently, the type of park ticket is different if you are finding a price difference. I just stick with online booking.

You really have to know your numbers when you call. I had a CM quote me a "discount" price. Not only was it rack rate, but it was a 1BDR suite, which I knew because I had a spreadsheet with all the rack rates and discounts in front of me.

Of course it's more complicated with a package. You have to question all the pieces. Even online, if you're booking room-only it will quite often add park tickets in and you have to remove them.
