Ok i have major panic syndrom but i went i stayed and tried,
let me start from top:
the Dr. let me know what a pain i am becasue i am allergic to iodine. He said" i had to get special dye because of your allergy to iodine hope you know it cost a lot of money" Then he said if you really dont want this test you can leave. i said no i am just scared.. Then when they were going to give my the anitbiotic he was upset i was allergic to penicillen " isnt there anyhing your not allergic too?? he started naming med i never heard of , dont usally need them so not familar with there names shouldnt he know the the penicillan family? A nurse came over and said what have you taken i told her Zythromax. she said ok then you can take blah blah . the Dr said what a pain rolled his eyes the nurse just winked at me . so finally he came in the or . and gave me verasaet for nerves. and put in the first needle no problem then he put the next one in and i said ouch that hurts he pushed a little deeper and very BIG ELECTRICAL shocks down my good leg . he had not even made it to the disk yet. he tried again and said the same thing is happening he told me quit telling me about the pain i dont want to hear it till i get to the nreve. i said again the shocks he said forget it then and walked out. After awhile i asked the nurse to get him 20 mins later he came out and said just i will send your Nero surgeon a dictataton . i was very upset on the inside . the nurse came over and said dont worry not your fault , he kept hitting a nerve. dont worry. so in themean time i am in pain , cant work . and dont know what to do from here.

How very unprofessional, callous, rude, mean-spirited, and clumsy!
Sorry you are still in pain and had this moron do your test.
I have a panic disorder mostly associated with medical people ;) and I can tell you that there ARE terrific doctors out there - who act like real people. I made it through a breast lump biopsy in the OR. Gotta love those meds. Ask your doc to recommend someone else and get the PROPER care you should have had in the first place. Poor thing....... :grouphug:

What a complete *******!

You need to report this dr., there is no excuse for him. I would also call the insurance and let them know what happened. Do you have any pain meds? Can you call your regular dr. and get something? I know that's not much help when you are in pain, hope you can get it taken care of.

Report him! That was VERY unprofessional and should NOT be tolerated. Don't just report him to the medical board but to any other associations he may be affiliated with.

Boy am I ticked off now! I want to go smack him for you! There is no acceptable reason for him treating you this way.

:grouphug:

Yes, you need to report him. That is horrible behavior!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

I agree with the other posters. You need to report him. His attitude was totally uncalled for and not that of a GOOD doctor. If he was a referral, I would definitely tell the referring physcian. For what is worth, DH is allergic to iodine too.

I agree with everyone else report him. The way he treated you was wrong, very unprofessional.

I hope you feel better soon

What a jerk! Iodine is not that uncommon of an allergy - neither is penicillin! I can't believe you were treated that way. Have you had an MRI? Maybe they can get the info they need from another test. Yuck!

I would definitely make sure your referring doctor knows how you were treated. Call and insist on pain medication - there is no need for you to suffer, especially after the ordeal you had to go through. :grouphug:

The second the Dr said something to me about being a "pain" I would have said, "You're right, don't do the test. It will be better anyway, as with your attitude towards me, you may very well make a mistake, and then I would have to call my lawyer and sue the beejeebers out of you" :teeth:

Then I would get up and get out of there calling my insurance company on my cell as I was doing so.

I agree!

You need to report this doctor. Also, call your neurologist and tell him/her what happened. Is your neuro the one that recommended this clown?

You have gotten advice already so I just wanted to say I am sorry you had to go through this and hope you feel better soon.

What a bummer, huckster. I agree with above. I would report him to the state board, the hospital he is associated with, your insurance company. I do hope you get relief soon.

I agree with the above psoters. I would report him to everyone possible.

If the procedure was being done in the hospital, call and speak with the CEO of the hospital, follow-up your conversation with a letter, and also find out who the hospital's medical director is, and copy him/her on the the letter.

Call your county and state medical boards and report him to them. Call the neurologist who recomemmended him and report him. Call your insurance company and report him. Keep your reports factual. Put the name of the nurse (if you know it) into the report so that he/she can be questioned. If you don't know the nurse's name, put the date and time you were there. They'll be able to figure out who it was.

I am a nurse, and it burns me up when doctors behave that way. The tide is turning away from the "doctor is God" mentality, as some of the more senior members of the profession retire, but it is still there, especially since there are many other cultures now coming to the USA whose overall perception of women is very different from what we have here.

He needs to be reported. His life needs to be made miserable. By more than one avenue. You will be doing many folks a great service if you pursue this.

I am also a nurse and I am appalled. You absoluely need to report him in all the ways Disney Doll described. It is important that you do this and also let your insurance company know that the procedure was not completed.

If you don't want anyone else to feel the way you feel - report the doctor...although I don't believe he deserves the title "Doctor". Other titles are popping up in myhead right now.

I'm sorry that happened to you! :(

He's in the wrong field if that's how he acts towards his patients. The wrong field. Good grief! What an attitude. Having allergies isn't something you can control. And you SHOULD tell him when something hurts! He would have gotten an earful from me! Anyway, you certainly didn't do anything wrong.

You've gotten some great advice. Report, report, report! Get it documented so you won't have to pay for that kind of treatment.

Hopefully, you can get a second opinion and ask around for a doctor that has a much better bedside manner. You still have some medical issues that needs to be resolved. (You shouldn't have to go through his shenanigans too!)

Good luck and let us know how it's going!

You might want to try to find a patient advocate who will go through the process with you if you feel uncomfortable doing this on your own; this person needs to know that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. There also may be other complaints against this individual & he sounds like at the very least he will need an official reprimand.
