The Sun is Setting on the Best Day Ever!
I am Cinderella. I used to be a Secret Agent, but then I was transformed by one of my Fairy Godmothers, "Algia" when I won lots of stuff over at MGM Studios' "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Play It!" show... My crystal slippers may look like Nike's and my diamond necklace may look like a pin lanyard. That's not a visor but a tiara I am wearing along with those 10 limited edition pins ....! LOL! Yes, the sun may be setting on the BEST DAY EVER... but I am not sad, no sirree~ this day isn't over yet and I don't turn into a pumpkin until midnight..! So let the story continue....
Heading back towards the exit of World Showcase I stop off in England for a pint of Bass Ale and pronounce it an excellent cure for a princess with a thirst! By perusing my schedule, I see it is almost time for "The British Invasion" to start so I head over to look for the Royal Box, uh to find a seat. For those unfamiliar with the "British Invasion", they are a look alike, sound alike Beatles band and a long standing staple for all visitors of England in Epcot!
While standing and surveying the area, time seems to stand still as I look across the crowded courtyard~ I see and am seen by my EMERGENCY ROOM Fairy Godmother !
I think, What's she doing here? You think~ WHO???
**Dream Sequence: Rewind the tape back to "A Disbugs Family of Five Christmas Vacation: The Only Ride we were on was to the Emergency Room"... If you did not read that trip report, it basically had DD2 and I zooming off into the moonlit night from the Polynesian Hotel to the Celebration Hospital Emergency Room! The flu and a little vomit never hurt anyone, right? When the EMT's dropped me off, with a purse, diaper bag, cell phone, and handed me a clipboard to fill out and then handed me DD2. I was alone and helpless in a room
full of sick people! When DD2 started vomiting again I was pretty overcome by my predicament! This one woman who was obviously sick herself and had been there 12 hrs waiting to be seen, came over and helped me get cleaned up and juggle everything I had to hold. She looked familiar and I remembered I had talked to her in EPCOT last November while watching the "British Invasion"... Wow! Small World...! Our Angel continued to watch over us until we left. The last I saw her it was finally her turn to be seen and we waved goodbye and wished each other good luck.
OK... everyone caught up? Good!
I never thought I would see her again and there she was! I smiled, she smiled, the heavens parted and a little ray of sunshine shone down on that courtyard...! I am talking major deja vu here folks!
I walk over as she is seated in a wheelchair and we introduce ourselves... her name is Cindy P. and her DH, Bruce, truly IS a DH! (He is a CM!) LOL! I mention that I didn't remember her wearing a leg cast when last we met... apparently some foot surgery has her temporarily in a wheelchair. We had such a good time talking and before you know it, here comes the band! We sat together and enjoyed the performance as if it really were the BEATLEs! It was great to be able to sing the chorus out loud without witnessing the grimacing faces of my DD's!
After the show they were going over to The American Pavilion to the next showing of the "Voices of Liberty". Would I like to come along? Would I ever! "ABSOLUTELY!" So, off we go chatting like old friends and before you know it... we are there! They tell me it is important to get there early enough to be able to sit in a very special spot directly under the rotunda. The sound quality is supposed to be so PERFECT there that someone could whisper across the room and you should be able to hear every word! COOL, huh?
Their performance is awe inspiring and I am so GLAD to be an AMERICAN sitting there under that replica of the Capitol Building listening to the sounds of sweet patriotism united in a harmony you must hear... it cannot be described. After the performance is over they insist that I see the American Adventure show, so I wave goodbye thinking I will see them afterwards. Well... somehow I LOST them! I zigged when they zagged... I hoped I would run into them again soon, they were such nice people!
I continue around the World Showcase until I find the boat dock in Germany that will take me back to the other side of the World Showcase. (It's hard to walk in glass slippers! Even by Nike! LOL!)I am anxious not to miss the next show of "Off Kilter!" This "Canadian" band is one of the BEST entertainment events in WDW and NOT to be MISSED, IMO! And who is sitting up front, saving me a seat? It's Cindy and Bruce!! We laugh and wave! It's like Deja Vu all over again! Sitting at the Canadian pavilion watching and listening I am transported to wherever this band wants to take me! Haunting, memorable harmonies or upbeat off the wall music enriched with the addition of a bagpipe, it matters not... I am NEVER disappointed by this group! A high spirited blend of both Celtic and modern tunes, these guys have such a talent and a sense of humor which cannot help but entertain! No one is a stranger here, just a group of friends tapping their feet and singing Whiskey in the Jar! LOL! (Would you believe Metallica also has a version?)
Adds a whole new meaning to the phrase "pretty in plaid", don't ya think?
We seem to keep running into each other, it is KIZMET, fate, KARMA, or all of the above...so Cindy, Bruce, and I decide to go back over to England to see the last show of "The British Invasion"! Apparently, every show is different and each set is costumed to match the musical era. This set is the Sgt Pepper set! Woo Hoo! (Can princesses say, woohoo?)
It's Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club band, I hope you will enjoy the show....
We had a wonderful time enjoying the Band. Too good a time in fact! Just like Cinderella at the ball when the clock starts tolling at midnight....BONG! BONG! I REMEMBER!........."OMG! I am parked over at MGM Studios!"
Barely able to say my goodnights I am SO SORRY! I REALLY have to go... parked over at MGM... last boat leaving... So good to see you again.. I'll be here all week! Call and leave a message for me at Old Key West! Maybe we'll run into each other again? I DO hope so! TaTa For NOW!! BBBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEE!
The Glass Slippers are burning rubber..... power walking I believe it is called! Since this is my last night at my glorious 2* Resort (LaQuinta Lakeside for those just joining us) I cannot MISS the BOAT... There IS NO BUS to take me back! I am agog! How could I have not remembered Andi's admonition that the "last boat will leave the International Gateway at 7:30 PM"? Or was it 7 PM? It had been hours since I took the boat over from MGM... who can remember? Since I had filed it under the circular brain file for useless information... I am not sure! To make matters worse, I'm STARVING!... I had been planning on stopping at Beaches and Cream for dinner!
I arrive at the ball out of breath... uh, I mean the boat dock! And as this is the craziest of all days (but still the BEST DAY EVER!) who should be my boat launch captain? You guessed it! It's Fairy Godmother #3... ANDI! YAY! On the way over I was lamenting how I was glad I had brought my umbrella since it would be dark and raining when I had to walk from the Yacht Club resort back to MGM studios... Andi inquires, why would you do that, your royal highness?" I just threw that Royal Highness in... you knew that? You were paying attention? Oh, good! Well, I am getting off to eat supper at Beaches and Cream and this is the last launch back to MGM... She replies, "Is there any reason why you can't take the boat back to MGM now, and just drive your car back over to Yacht Club/Beach Club for dinner?" We pause to let these little pearls of wisdom sink in, prior to giving our forehead a little dope slap! DU-UH!
That WOULD be better, huh? Well, all-righty then! Saved again by a Fairy Godmother! LOL!
AND wouldn't you know... THAT IS JUST WHAT I DID!
Tomorrow I'm MOVING to Disney's OLD KEY WEST! Can't Wait!
