As I left Fantasyland, the clouds were rolling in again behind the castle!

This morning when I came in I had the foresight to stop and get a PS to eat lunch in the CASTLE. I was able to secure a 2 PM table for 1... which was great for me! So now it is approaching 1:30 PM and I head back to check in early for my seating time. I inquire about sitting near the window and allow that I will wait for that table... so I sit in the Castle Lobby and who is there but my TWIN sister! CINDERELLA, herself (and her fairy Godmother)! I have a great time during my wait watching her MAKE THE DAY of so many children! She is so beautiful and true to life, how could you NOT believe??

There is a woman who checked in just before me with her 2 children and as people come and go, soon it is just us left to be called. Several times she had gone to check on her PS since they never called her name. In fact, they called my name before they called hers. After I was seated at one of the window seats and placed my royal order... the woman and her children were escorted to another window seat right next to mine. The Manager appeared to apologize and find out what had happened. The CM's told him that her name had been called several times and she did not respond. Unfortunately that was not true... I heard her say her name to the CM when she checked in for their 1:35 PM PS, and her name was NEVER called.

I ordered a chicken salad for my meal and enjoyed talking with my excellent server who agreed with my laments over the menu changes. The Castle used to serve wonderful crusty rolls that were tender on the inside and tasty as well served with a miniature butter statuette of Mickey. This has been replaced with "pretzel bread" rolls that are overly soft and blah in taste... Another favorite was their outstanding white chocolate cheesecake in raspberry sauce! Delicious! This is history also! :( This restaurant used to be a GEM! The atmosphere combined with great food... it was always a must for me at least once on my trip... But I have down-graded it since I have not enjoyed the food the last 2 times I've eaten here.

On my way out I saw Cinderella and inquired about her making a personal appearance at the woman's table who had such bad luck with her PS. Unfortunately she was whooshed into the back and gone before I could put in a word. But I did not leave without having a word with the Manager. I let him know that the woman's name indeed had never been called and she had gone up to check more than once. I did not hear him offer her anything more than an apology... I certainly hope he took something off her bill for her grace and patience!

Well, it wasn't the best meal in the world but I had a GREAT view, an excellent server and time to sit, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. I also got to see CINDERELLA! Pretty cool...My tummy is no longer hungry but I do want something sweet... I wonder if the Dole Whip shop is open?? :earseek:

No Cheesecake???? Sometimes...icecream helps!!

Beautiful pictures of the castle, Disbug, in part 14 and 15. Thanks for continuing to report.

I like your trip reports, I'm enjoying them as if I was there.
I also love that picture of the castle, looks so misterious with the tree branches and the clouds around it.

So glad you were able to get a window seat! I love reading your reports! Please keep them coming!

Glad you got a window seat....sorry about the food...

Disbug, I am enjoying your reports so much. They do remind me of my own solo vacation this past Nov.

I had to laugh when you mentioned how your lunch went at Cindy's table. The absolute worst dinner I ever ate at the Kingdom was at CRT several years ago. I laugh because those old crusty rolls were once served to us hard as bricks (we thought about aiming them at the waiter as he approached as it would've made a dent in his head, that is what he gets for serving us something like that, but we were on our good behavior). The former butter statue of Mickey was so hard we bent the butter knife attempting to cut it. The steak was dry and had no flavor and we couldn't eat the potatos they used to serve. After several years, last Nov. I made a dinner ressie and found that the food had improved and was certainly edible. I can honestly say that I was happy to see those pretzels sticks served.

Well can't wait to continue read the rest. Hope that you upcoming trip is as great as your last one was.

Disbug--Thanks so much for the great reports and pictures! Those beautiful shots have us So excited for our upcoming trip!:jumping1:

When you mentioned the miniature butter statuette of Mickey, I remembered the first time my DN saw it he wanted to play with Mickey and my sister told him no we are going to eat him...Well he waited until noone was paying attention and bit Mickeys head off. He froze as he tasted it and wasn't sure just what he should do spit or swallow.

While I do love CRT, I haven't enjoyed my last few meals there. But have my PS for my next trip made, I keep hoping it will improve. (soon)

3/12 7:35pm I'm sitting here waiting on the next report and I just remembered Disbug is back at WDW now....she is probably at MK right now....:earsboy:

yecats~ Old crusty rolls!! LOL! You must have had the ones left under the heat lamp! I guess when I find something I like, I REALLY want to keep it the same... I'm glad there are people that like the pretzel rolls! Didn't see any sticks, though!
