So I think the flower is too big, but do you think if I made a smaller one that it would look good there? This is a size 3. I don't usually make stuff that small and I think I forgot how little it would end up being when I cut out the daisy.

Someone asked me to make a dress like this and I was trying to think of something "special" to add to it to make it my own.

Okay, I love the "large and in charge" flower myself! But, I'm always one for "excess"....:lmao: Seriously though, I am in  with that outfit, color combo...flower...everything! And I was totally eyeing your fabric stash in the background....jealous!!!!

It's about 5 1/2" across. It's pretty big!

that is big. probably too big for a 3 yr old. BUT I still love it! haha

Oh yes, I do love that fabric stash too! I actually was looking for that skull fabric a few weeks ago, when I was looking for some to make Georgia's skirt. Don't you just love it?!

How cool! I haven't seen it yet. I'll have to go look.

It is the perfect phrase for Tessa, huh? I tried to put it in a bubble for the picture on here, but couldn't figure out how to do it in that program.

I didn't know it was on YCMT yet!!

Yay for your wee model :) she looks so cute :cutie: . I like the words on the tshirt too - and if you figure out how to do bubbles that would rock :)

What a cutie!!! I love the little ribbon in her hair!!

Mytwotinks- I think the flower moved to the hip would be cute- but if you make a smaller one that would be great too!!

Seli's team took FIRST place at Nationals this weekend!
WOO HOO! Go DEVILS!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I've been getting so nostalgic over all the Mulan pictures! She's my FAVORITE! We would always see her in MGM by the Great Movie Ride (another favorite of mine...don't know why, just love that ride!) and I just LOVE her! I've got some great pics w/her and Seli when she was just tiny...maybe 3 or 4...:sad1: My baby is growing up...ugh! Goes by way too fast! Now she's 12 going on 17 and she's almost as tall as me.... Okay, I'll stop... I'll just say again, it goes way too fast!!!!

Note to self....
Do not eat Vanilla pudding for dinner...too much sugar, and
Now I can't sleep, and I'm watching weird videos on Youtube, and buying fabric that I really don't need on :wizard:
:rotfl: So, does the same thing apply to ice cream? Yup, I guess so, since I'm up at 1:12am. It was sugar free, low fat ice cream, at least!

Congratulations Seli!!!!! That's wonderful!

FLEA: Your DD is absolutely adorable! Look at that little model! How cool!

Uh Oh, late night fabric shopping can be very hazardous!
Late night :wizard: shopping is how I found the cutest Cinderella fabric that I have ever seen. I have never seen any like it before I bought or since I bought it. So keep it up. Late night shopping is fun especially when you wake up the next morning and can't remember what you bought.

Jham - Jeanne THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I received my Minnie head panel yesterday. I love it! And so do both of my girls. Do you think I can cut it in half and make something for both of them? :lmao:

MYtwotinks, that dress is too cute! I may have to CASE this as a top for my DDs!

The outfit with Aurora is too cute! I forget who made itm but it is adorable! I would put the rose ruffle on the top, and maybe add another ruffle to the skirt. That is a very pretty top.

Congrats to the cheerleading team! Go Seli!!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!

Castle, I am with you! I love late night shopping, though it can be dangerous to the pocketbook! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Flea, your baby is a cutie patootie!!!!

Well, I am killing time, our school was put on a two hour delay, and I am crossing my fingers for a snow day!:lmao: I am as bad as the students! I can't help it, you gotta love a snow day!:goodvibes

Snow day here. Most of the schools are closed today. Lots of snow and ice.

Not stupid at all! I use regular tissue paper but sometimes have to tape pieces together. Some people use interfacing if they'll reuse the pattern many times. There's also a special kind of paper called Pattern Ease that is made for this. JoAnns online has something like it called Pattern Tracing Material. If you check you local JoAnns, I'd looke with the BTY interfacing.

As for asking questions at JoAnns, I don't even bother beyond simple "where would I find X" when they've moved things around yet again. The ladies at our local JAs are nice and some actually sew but in most cases I think they hire people without expecting them to have any knowledge of crafts/sewing.

Thanks! I looked with the notions, the packaged interfacing and the quilt stuff. I will try online, now that I have a name it will be a lot easier!

Listen I think parents sometimes are too easy on kids. And I think you did the right thing. I teach my kids that no matter what someone does to you, you have to act appropriate. throwing rocks at anyone is unacceptable no matter what the reason. If these kids were throwing things at him, he should have got out of the situation and gone inside or go away. To teach him to "Fight back" is unreasonable. I think he is technically punished enough. but I think he should work off his $ mistake. so how about keeping a tally on the fridge. he takes out the garbage it is a $1. HE vaccums the living room a $1 etc. etc. that may make him think twice next time and it may take 2 months to pay that off. I think that he will learn his lesson. this is a lesson to take with him through life not just as a kid. Just think when he is able to drive a car and he makes a dent in the car, would you ask him to "work" off his mistake or just pay for it for him. You have to think of the big picture and not just the here and now!

Lori

Thanks to everyone who responded. I made a chore chart with dollar amounts for each chore. So far he has earned $25.

Cute Valentine's Day outfit: just in time! I like the longer capris with the princess top, they all look great!

I love how the Ariel came out! The bling and ribbon are perfect!

Much better! You two look cute together. I have a pattern that looks exactly like that top, but I am afraid to try it!

Excellent work as always! I didn't know of Mary Mouse until this thread.

This is the best picture! It's so sweet it brings tears to my eyes.

Cute! I love the outfit and your daughter looks like such a sweetie.

Sorry about your friend moving away. It was hard for us when we moved here because I felt we were leaving Jacob's first friends. I really cherished that milestone, he was like a real person! I think I was worse than he was!

Oh my! That picture is so great. I loved the party pictures and Georgia in her jumpsuit is just adorable!

Megan got very jealous when she saw this one. Great job!

I love the pink and black, I think it's great!

Cute! I love the rosebud fabric with Aurora. I think whatever ruffle you put on will look great. Your daughter is adorable too!

okay, I'm frustrated :headache: I think my computer has a virus or something. That, or it is posessed. It is really freaking out. I have a couple of things I have made and taken pictures of, but can't post them. I will have to figure out how to get pictures onto my dh's computer. I want a new computer! I found a super simple pattern for an a-line top or dress that is slipover, not even shoulder buttons. I literally whipped it up in 10 minutes except for the bias tape around the neck and arm holes. I need to go buy some. It is a little big on Lily, but she loves it. I used my Ariel pillowcase (one side of it anyway). I also made a cupcake skirt for Lily to match a cute sweater she has. I figured I'd better get it made before it is too warm to wear a sweater! It was my first attempt at piecing together an applique (okay, it's still pretty simple, but I feel like I'm progressing).

 I'm sorry. Happy belated birthday!

Oooh, I love the big flower, but I can see how it would overpower a three year old. Did you make it with that yoyo thing? I really want one now!

CONGRATS to Seli's team! What company's Nationals were you at? I know that UCA's were this weekend. What division is the team in?

she seems to like it and keeps repeating "you made this for me' over and over.

Oh my goodness! How sweet! It's beautiful and whichever way you decide to finish it, it will still be perfect!

lisazoe - I hate how the people at JoAnn's don't know what they're doing!

heather - I finally found the link to your skirt! cool!

If you guys think the people at JoAnn's are clueless then you should try our Home Depot. They don't even know what they have in the store, let alone how to use it :confused3

That's a good idea too!

I am gonna make a smaller one tomorrow and see if that helps. Maybe I'll keep this daisy just in case a plus size woman asks me to make the dress in her size! I think this size daisy is gonna take a pretty big dress to look in proportion! Maybe someone with much more confidence than me will want to wear it! Sometimes I just let my brain wander. I don't know who I thought was going to wear this!

I love the big flower! But, you are right, too big for a little kiddo. I, on the other hand, am plus size. So, I wear things like that to accentuate the good parts of my body. I like to bring the hubby's eye to other places if you know what I mean ;)

I am really excited about the big President's Day sale that JoAnn is having. I went in and picked my things out already. Soooo cool. I wish I would hurry up and get my preferred and discount card stuff in the mail.
