I love this!!

Anyone know a good online teaching video on how to sew pants??? I know I know, everyone says they are easy. But I need to actually SEE it to do it.

I don't have a video but I use the "Easy-fit" pants by Carlac on YMCT. Once I figured out which side is the legs, and which is the waist..it was pretty easy. LOL There are only two pieces to sew and doesn't take too long to make unless you sew them backwards like i did the first time!

Good Morning folks! This morning in about 30 minutes Georgia has a playdate, since there is no school today. I am going to try to make some baby pants. you know to try. I have some fabric that is cute, but not a total loss if I screw it up. hahaha

My good friend is having a baby in March so they will go to her , IF they come out ok. Wish me luck!

I love everyones stuff today, so far! I love all the Mulan pictures, that has been the movie of choice this week in our house. I was bummed not getting to see her at all when we went in Nov to DL. Maybe in May..

You all know I can't pass up a chance to share a picture. So, here's our Mulan picture from our last trip. As you can see, Tessa was unimpressed! It wasn't just Mulan, she ignored everyone, even the very handsome Aladdin. Mulan was REALLY sweet and quite beautiful!

Quick question for anyone that does this type of top or dress:

When you are working with two skirts, are you gathering them together or separately before you attach them to the bodice? I hope that made sense?

It can be done either way, but it looks much better if you do them seperately. It makes it much fuller.

I normally either stitch the skirts together and then gather them. I honestly cannot remember what I did for Drizella but I am doing Anastasia today so I will let you know! I can take pics along the way.

I gathered and sewed on the 2 skirts seperately. I've done them both at once in the past and it seemed more time consuming and difficult to me.

Mary Poppins-

Here is my DD's Mary Poppins custom for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. My younger daughter has a red gingham smocked Mary Poppins dress. I wanted the two to coordinate.

Hi..This is my latest. I'm not too crazy about the shirt...but it's okay. It says Wild in Walt Disney script..It's almost finished.

ok do the bottom layer like a normal skirt. then the top one, don't sew the skirt all the way together. leave an opening. kwim. then but the ruffle on every edge all the way up.. ok you with me. then atach the two skirts to the bodice and walla.
does that make sense

I went back a looked at a couple dresses. I do the two layers at the same time. I actually serged them together to have a nice neat edge to work with and then gathered them.

I am dyin' over here! My machine is being serviced and I have cut out 3 outfits and can't do anything with them! Man. This totally stinks.

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I wanted to sew while Georgia was on her playdate, but instead I have the friend come to me and say "Kelly, there are ants on Georgia's chair" I am thinking a few, one or two.. since the weather has been cold and rainy lately (thankfully not today) they are coming in to finda nice spot.

WRONG!!!

There were like 100!! Some were climbing up the wall, on her rain jacket, they were gathered by the foot of her bed on the ground. YUCK. so I got the spray, and sent the girls outside.

I HATE ANTS! I just spend 40 minutes cleaning up her room and searching...

I feel your pain! We're redoing the floor in the living room so everything from the living room is now in my dining room. I sew in the dining room!! I don't even have a spot to set up my machine! lol Maybe by this weekend I can sew again.

I am excited this year to get to show off my girls in their customs! I do need to get on the ball with sewing them, though.

I have no clue where but I would like to know too!! That would be a fabulous goodie bag treat! I loved doing the crayon roll up, but the chalk one would be great!

that happened to me this weekend too! There were like 10 ants in the bathroom. had no idea how they got there and there has not been any since.
