Okay, here is my CAMELOTCATS skirt :rotfl: I made it yesterday but my internet went down when I tried to get it into photobucket. Thank you Angela! Lily loves it and Jayden was saying she wanted one. I just did a 3-layer twirl skirt with a gingham underskirt. I'll try to get photos of it on her eventually. I was excited about all the long strips with no seams and went crazy with my ruffler then stitched rows together and made a seam up the back. Sadly I ran out of bias tape with about 8 inches left! So I have to run to the store before I can totally finish it. I'm just about done with a peasant top in the pink gingham, but not sure I really love it. The pinks in the gingham and the minnie don't quite match

WOW! that was super fast. I have the 1980s sheets white with pink dots, and the same minnie bow ruffle along the front. Imma butcher the sheet set and use the white with pink dots with the other stuff.

I love the Hello Kitty outfit.

And the cakes! oh my, there great.

I received my Farbenmix pattern Vida (patchwork jumper) and like a true male, I didn't read the directions first!:headache:

I made the jumper about TWO sizes too big!:scared1: Yikes! It is really long on Leighanna, so I am going on to round two and make it the right size!

Not too complicated of a pattern, and I can see the ability to add LOTS of trims and ruffles to it too. (Apparently the hardest part is reading what size to trace!:goodvibes )

Once I get a size that will fit my little princess now and not two years from now, I will get a photo of it and let you see!

Off to cut fabric and hopefully construct something!

Everyone's stuff looks great. All the cakes are making me hungry too!

You did a great job with that. and quickly too!

Those of you who have dress forms, where did you get them?

I thought I remember someone posting something as a cheaper way to have a dress form without buying a dress form - can they repost that?

My DH bought mine at Store Supply Warehouse. I love it.

If I am remembering correctly the cheapest place I found was Manneking or something similar to that. Some of the other places were charging outrageous shipping and the thing is super light weight. They charged me exact shipping which was like $12 I think. It was just about $100 all total I think.

Search for childs dress forms.

I know I saw some child dress forms on ebay too. But I don't know what the shipping was going to be.

Ok that was super fast!!! I have mine washed and dried- that's it. I am planning to embellish some overalls.

Well I wasn't on here all day today. I got three pairs of pants cut and a skirt cut. I also took a nap today- (ahh sweet naps how I have missed you  ) So I will be sewing tonight when the rest of the house sleeps!!

Does anyone make customs for others? We are going in March and I decided I better get some for my daughter since she'll outgrow them soon....
I have ideas I've seen and just need to find someone to make them.

Thanks-
Heather

You can check SIGs to find eBay IDs of many people. If you see a set you like, you can also PM that person directly. People who do sew for others (and charge) must be careful in answering posts like yours because the mods don't want people to use the DIS for spam - a perfectly reasonable rule. :goodvibes

BTW - I just tried to PM you and you're box is full. ;)

The thing I really like about the Farbenmix patterns are that they do offer so many options for embellishment but the design itself is cute enough to work without adding anything. I still haven't gotten comfortable tracing and adding the seam allowance but a tip I got to use 2 pencils rubberbanded together worked pretty well. I follow the pattern line with one pencil and have the other on the outside so it automatically draws the seam allowance. It's not perfect but much easier than the way I was doing it.

I got mine (3 different sizes) on :wizard:. If you'd like the seller's ID, you can PM me. Shipping is high considering the weight but the forms were only about $50 in a BIN so even with shipping I paid about $70 total (he combined shipping for the other two which helped make them an even better price). I checked around online and that was about the best price I found for the forms with the stand off-center. I did find some with the pole in the middle but that doesn't work well when trying pants on the form. With it off-center, the pole goes up one leg of the pants without distorting how it hangs.

Wow! That was FAST!

I am too having a hard time finding a pink to match.

I am going to take a sample of it to the fabric store and try to find a coordinate to go with it! Hope to work on it soon!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I knew you'd understand Tom! However, unlike you, I'm just going to leave it as is.

Oh wow...I LOVE THIS!!! I think you did a MARVELOUS job!!!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks! She is excited because when we scratch her back it will be really easy! She loves to have her back scratched "open" right on the skin.

I used the flower shaped yo-yo maker for the flowers. I'll probably have to handwash this one, or replace the yo-yo's a lot.

Do you have a picture by chance of these yo-yo makers?? Sounds rather interesting. I have never heard of them.

Garsh Amy, everytime you post of pic of yourself, I do a double take...I swear we are twins separated at birth!!! :rotfl: What do you think???

IMGP4457.jpg

WOW....you two REALLY do look alike!!! I really do have a twin sister but I swear we must have been switched at birth because we do not look alike at all!!!! :confused3

Hi guys - was looking around for the pictures of the cute beaded headbands. My DD4 is getting "too big" she thinks for "just bows" :sad2: and needs a headband like the big girls now. I would love to know where you found the beaded ones.

We just discovered the joys of boutique bows and DD loves them! She also loves he new headbands. The1EvilQueen made these for me. She hasn't posted in awhile so I'll email her and let her know tp check her pm's in case you send her one. Here are the 3 she made us. Jennwdw made our bows!!

This looks great on you! Love it!

Made this today for my DD. I've been loving all the madras I've been seeing. When I found this fabric, I knew I had to have it.

Love the tie at the neck

This is soooo cute! What pattern is that? I LOVE IT!

WOW! Is it bad that I haven't even started mine yet??

I might have a pink that matches in my stash. It is vintage old-new stock, and I don't know what the fabric was for originally (apparently sheets). I always hate trying to match pinks. I have been trying to match the teal for some trim.

Maybe next week. Things have been busy here, and with my mouth the way it is, I just haven't felt like sewing.

I got some inexpensive dress forms on :wizard: Too many, actually, since I got a bunch as "package deals".

Search under "mannequin" as well as "dressform". A lot of the non-adjustable ones are listed as Mannequins. I got a few collapsible travel forms for CHEAP, and they were light so they shipped cheap, too.

LOVE the cakes. Baking a cheesecake now, which is why I am still up. Company left at 11, more coming tomorrow, need a cheesecake. :sad2:

Oh, adn thanks everyone for the decoupage capri pics. I am more thinking about the pants with a panel of patchwork running down the sides. I wish I had a pic, but the closest I have is this one of a baby pair I made:

bflybabyjeans.jpg

The pair for me wouldn't have a ruffle at the bottom, and obviously would have a bigger patchy panel. I'm really surprised I don't have a better picture, since I have so any of these jeans. :confused3

So I know I have posted bits of my older DD's outfit. She asked me where her little sister's Belle outfit was today. I told her she did not have one. Well that was not acceptable for the Princess! So we made one toinght. I think it turned out really cute. I may have to shorten the skirt at tad but I hope it will work and then the babes can wear it into the summer.

Because I was on a time crush I used the pillowcase. I also have a mix of yellow and pink beads that I will make into a little necklace. Little sister wants big sisters Belle bracelet more than I can explain. The girls are going to wear these with their pink puddle jumpers on the first day to the Magic Kingdom.

WOW that is beautiful. I love both outfits! Your little ones will look sooo darling!!! Hope you take pics at the Magic Kingdom and share them with us later!!!

Thanks so much! I am really excited to say that I made this one up myself. The skirt is a pretty simple strip work skirt with waistband and ruffle. I made the pattern for the top. It was really fun to do. My older DD helped me. She was really excited to help. We are planning on making a couple other tops like this one.

I really love the top. It is very cute. I hadn't seen one cut like that. What size is it? I like the Belle applique (from a pillow case right? WM?) I wanted to see if one that size would fit on my DD. She is a size 5.
