Well I think I cought the sewing bug..because my house is quiet, all are sleeping (even the dog) and i whipped up this little number. I dont know if I should hide it way and give to Georgia on her birthday Thursday, or see if she wants to wear it tomorrow for school... I keep thinking how cute it will look over jeans with a shirt under it.

wow that is too cute i love the colors.

Here is the twirl skirt I made yesterday for AK. I haven't decided on what to do about a top yet. DD finally agreed to let me take a picture of her in something :)

This is very cute. Love her pose too.
This style would be great with the top in minnie dot and the bottom as black with minnie dot trim.

Thank you! Yes, I thought it was very versatile. It is reversible too, so that's a plus!

Oh, I so understand your feeling about the mud. Zoe did that on Christmas day to jeans I'd appliqued and a new hoodie. I think I used 4 or 5 different products to get the spots out. Eventually the applique came out looking good but the spots on the hoodie never came out completely. I think your idea to add patches is a good one. Depending on where the spots are and how big, you might even just need to applique a butterfly or two from the red print.

Nice to see you! After washing it twice, I got all the mud out. I was really mad at myself because it was not a good decision to let her wear it to the soccer field. I really should have known better!

OOOOH! I love love love it! Those colors are great for her, too. Beautiful job! A-lines are such a nice break from ruffly twirl skirts, aren't they? Thanks so much for sharing!

Thank you! I do love her in red, I don't know why. I have always picked out red things for her.

That is cute steph- Sorry about the mud- You'll have to "scotch guard" her next time!!

LOL, that child needs to be scotch guarded all over! They gave all the kids cupcakes with blue icing because it was the last game: you should have seen her face! I could not get that blue off her lips!

oh that always irritates me when you get some work in and then it gets messed up quickly!
Love the fabric
lori

Thanks! It is a thicker cotton so I grabbed it up when I saw it on clearance!

This turned out very cute! I have that pattern on my wish list, now I really want it! If only DH would let me spend money. :headache:

I totally recommend it. It was so easy and you can do lots with it. If I figure out how to do buttonholes, it can even be reversible!

Very cute, bummer about the grass stains.

Thanks: luckily I got them out! :)

They are so cute!

Steph, that is so cute! Now I have to add that to the list of patterns that I need to get!
I am partial to butterflies! Love the fabric choices!

I was trying to decide if I should applique something to the front in the yellow, but I didn't want to take away from the butterflies. I also thought about a trim but thought the same thing. I am not good with that detail stuff that makes your outfits look spectacular. I am a keep it simple kind of sewer I guess!

I would take a patch from the fabric and sew it on. That would be really cute. I love the Nemo dress!

Love the doll clothes! Aren't they fun?

OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a darling Black and Tan Doxie!!! (schnauzer is darling too!) I have a black and tan myself and I think they are just the most handsome animals on the planet!!!

fur babies are fun to sew for too!!!!

Please post a picture! I have one too and love to meet others.

Too cute! This looks adorable on Meagan!

Thank you!

Stephanie! You are just sewing like a madwoman!!!! This is so cute!!!!

Thank you! Unfortunately, my maniac sewing is ending. I have PTA work I have been putting off. You'll be happy to know I did tackle the laundry and it is all put away!

I just bought this pattern, so it does not fit well? Did you cut out your usual size and it seems a bit tight? I was worried that it might be too low because there is no opening in the back. It looks cute anyway.

I just read on the creative board that they are going to lock all thread at 250 pages. They are going to bring back old threads, but break them up into 250 page increments, so I wouldn't expect our thread any time soon.

I've actually made this top twice. The first time I made a size 8 as that is the size I would buy at the store. BIG mistake, it was wayyyy too small. The second time I read that pattern carefully and made the size 14 which should have fit, but doesn't fit right. I think the square neckline factors in. I really had to lift the girls up to get them to set above the ribbon line :confused3 The pattern is Misses, not Juniors so it should have been fine, but it just doesn't fit right. I'm thinking I might just buy a longer tank style T and use the leftover fabric to make a wide belt. That would allow me to use the fabric to compliment DH's shirt. I've decided that it is time for me to walk away from this project for now and come back when I have a more open mind.

Looks like everyone had a BLAST! Love that pic of Wendy's face in the background with one of the girls! The 3 of you ladies look GREAT!! We are going to see the movie tonight and I will try to remember to bring my camera! Parker and I have been getting her outfit ready, now to find something for Michael to wear!

!!! Update from Webmaster Alex on Missing/Locked Threads !!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok here's the update from Webmaster Alex below. If anyone who reads this would be so kind as to post a bump .. that would be great

If any of your favorite "long" threads get closed.. please start another and we'll post a link at the end of the old one to the new one.. This will start happening over the next few days.

Please note: This means some of the very very long 'game' threads will be closed. For each of the six threads affected, I copied the original post and the last post in the thread and started a new thread for each and linked them at the end of the old threads.

I was just going to post the message from Alex, but I see that the information is already here.

it was hard taking pictures we pretty much just pointed and shot:3dglasses Hoping that it would come out....;) Have fun

That is really cute, and I love the fabric combination. I bought that pattern last week but just haven't found the right fabric for it yet. Was it fairly easy to make?

Very easy! Much easier than I thought it would be. It only took 2 hours start to finish and that was me running back and forth to the computer.

I loved looking at all your customs! I especially love the ones you made for your oldest. I worry that as my daughter gets older she won't want as many. I loved how you coordinated the kids but they are all age appropriate.

Cute!

I am CASEing that for sure! Both dresses are adorable. It would kill me to keep it a secret too!

Oh Steph its absolutely adorable! I love the dots in the background of the butterflys....and the shape of it with those cute pants! So did you get the stains out. Hahahaha I thought of you when the Superbowl ad came on about the stain talking....hahaha  I only run out to see the funny commercials!

There is a very faint stain remaining on one knee, so I consider it out! I missed that commercial, will have to check on the web!

I here you on the mud stains. DD wore her Mardi Gras dress today and sat in the mud. Then she kept jumping around and I kept telling her that she was going to fall and sure enough she fell right into a puddle. I'm hoping it will come clean. My grandmother buys this stuff that gets almost any stain out of clothes. It's called M30. It's a gel like stuff. It works great.

Aww, your mardi gras dress is so pretty, I hope you get all the mud out. I will have to look for that M30. I just cut off the legs of some pants that have permanent grass and mud stains on them.

Cute! I want to try that, it looks great!

Love your Nemo outfits. And that JoJo looks perfect! Your daughter is so cute with Goliath.

I love the pink and the black together. Great job!

Cute skirt, very nice twirl factor, which is very important to little girls. I am sure you will find or make something great for the top.

I LOVE it and so does Tessa! She is a butterfly nut! So...how's that laundry coming? :rotfl2:

It is actually all done and all put away!

Now I just have to do the PTA newsletter, PTA thank you letters and PTA minutes. Then I have to make sashes for the Father/Daughter Dance Friday. So if you don't see me, you'll know I am stuck in PTA work land. :sad1:

I've actually made this top twice. The first time I made a size 8 as that is the size I would buy at the store. BIG mistake, it was wayyyy too small. I've decided that it is time for me to walk away from this project for now and come back when I have a more open mind.

I was worried because they didn't have it small enough, but I went ahead and got the bigger sizes. The pattern I cut out is about two sizes bigger than I usually wear so maybe it will be ok. The problem is I don't have a lot up top so I hope it won't gap and look odd. I know it's hard to work on something for so long and not like the finished project. I think it would look great with a cami underneath but I can understand that the ribbon placement might not make it comfortable. Ugh! If you use the leftover fabric and do a mickey head on a tank, that would coordinate and look cute. Good luck, I'll show you mine when I finish!

Last night I made my first twirl skirt. I had a lot of issues. I think my main issue is that I don't really know how to sew. :rotfl:

A few problems I had:

-I gathered the skirt before I pinned it together. I didn't read the directions right. This resulted in uneven gathers.

-My fabric wasn't long enough. I still don't know how I was supposed to fix this. :confused3 The directions said to buy one yard of each type of fabric, which I did. But then I was supposed to cut a stip that was like 80 inches long. One yard isn't long enough for that. Was I supposed to sew two strips together to make one strip? Because it wasn't long enough, it's not very "twirly."

-When I was gathering my thread kept breaking. Any tips for this? Or do I just need better thread?

-I cut really uneven. I don't have a rotary thingy, because I don't know what it is. :rolleyes1

I also made an applique shirt to match. The applique is really crooked. I can't seem to ever get them straight. I had my niece stand crooked so it would look straight! :rotfl:

I hear you on the not enough fabric for the older girls. What I did was make the one strip into three pieces so that they equaled the total length for that strip.

Problems with the thread breaking might be because your tension isn't set right. Try to lower the number and see how it works for you.

On the applique - it's tough. I did my first one last month. I have three more to do and I'm pushing them off as long as I can. From what I'm guessing the more you do it the better you'll be. Practice, practice, practice.

SORRY EVERYONE!!! Yes I'm the reason for the problem with Photobucket, but I have clicked the click and changed my ways and to prove it here's the picture of DD5 VD skirt.

IMG_0146.jpg

I'm sorry for the problems.

That is Cute!! Sorry about you computer & printer not speaking- Hope they make up soon!! :rotfl: My mac is usually pretty cooperative!!

I have a sneaking suspicion that it's the HP printer and not the mac that has issues. Too bad my DH, the systems engineer, apparently was too busy with his World of Warcrack to bother with fixing my computer. I shouldn't be surprised, he managed to ignore all 6 of the trash bags that needed to go out this morning too. I sure wish I was able to render things invisible so I didn't have to deal with them too. :lmao:

I'll have to locate on of the two card readers and then I'll be able to get the pictures up.

I'm almost done with the Nemo dress, it's in two pieces, the skirt part and the bodice part, I just need to gather the skirt into the bodice, I've already basted it so it won't take long. I'll have it done this afternoon. My DD and I are going to head in to Fairfax to hit Whole Foods and start working out way back out to Manassas and get our grocery shopping done along the way. I've got to get a few things for Mardi Gras and Chinese New Year.

All these holidays are right on top of each other this year, in the span of 9 days there's Mardi Gras, Chinese New Year, and Valentine's Day, and extend that out a couple more days and it's President's Day. St. Pat's and Easter are right on top of each other too. We usually decorate the playroom window but since Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day are so close we've got the dining room window decorated with Mardi Gras and the playroom has Valentine's Day on it. St. Pat's and Easter we'll probably do the same thing.

Well, I'm off to get all this done before it's too late.

I just found a cute outfit I am going to try and case this week:wizard: belle deco set

Very very cute.

Love the photos, you got some cute ones with my Jaydiebug! Love the ones in the bathroom :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll try to get my photos up today.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: World of Warcrack, I hadn't heard that before! My DH is a software engineer. You should have heard him when I asked him to change out my mouse and keyboard for me. He acted like I asked him to climb Mt. Everest! It took him all of 3 minutes, and that included finding me a new mouse and keyboard! He is also getting his MBA so he has figured out he has no time for games, but he does still manage to watch a lot of tv. :happytv:

okay I'm a little scared. Last night we had friends over to watch the game and near my machine I said how I would like to get a new machine. Didn't think anything of it. But I think my machine heard me because this morning it's been acting funny. I'm a little nervous. I'm going to try to carry on through the because I promised DD8 the pink Hannah Montana skirt with the blue and pink tulle that someone posted awhile ago. I finally found the fabric at Walmart hidden behind some things and I bought as much as I could. Hopefully the machine won't breakdown.

Wow!! She made those PJ pants herself? That is great! I love all the AG stuff, too! That pink fabric with the butterflies on it looks eerily familiar! I think it's the same fabric I used to make Tessa's Halloween costume. The fabric I used was stretchy velvet with metallic butterflies. It was incredibly hard to work with, so kudos to you for making these so well!!

Yes, she made them by herself. I'm really proud of her to have the patience! The pink fabrick with the butterflies came from Joanns. Yes, very stretchy and hard to work with! I think I used it all up so no more little AG outfits from it!!!!

I think the old thread will be cut into blocks of 250 pages. All the posts should be there, you will just have to search several threads to find what you are looking for.
