Simplicity 4206 Sewing for Dummies is a great pattern. I've done the twirl skirt, the capris and the peasant top. I must have done something on the peasant top because the sleeves came out very short. I'll have to add onto them next time. :) The capris are a little long too. I must have been having a bad sewing day. LOL

Thanks for sending a little pixy :wizard: dust around this morning! I rethreaded the whole machine and fussed an hour or two with it and it finally started working! (I think it knew it was about to be a UFM 'Unidentified Flying Machine') and I have almost finished my DD's Vday outfit! Will post a pic when I finish!

Sharing Leslie's creation that she made for Avery. I couldn't stand it to sit in the closet for two more months before our trip so I let her wear it to school the other day. It is just too stinkin cute! She couldn't stop twirling in it. :goodvibes

About a week or so ago someone (a person that when I read her posts reminds me of me and my sis, as we are sooo close and are even on some sites together) mentioned this thread to me. I am new here, but actually read some of the posts on the other threads wayyyy before I registered. So glad I was told about this thread...it seems everyone here is so kindddddddd. I have enjoyed reading about everyone and their families. I have a WONDERFUL husband and 2 super children, but of course, I have my issues so this site is a great distraction. I belong to some other sites that are funn, but must admit this is the warmest thread I have ever seen.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!
I have never seen such great women in my life....wow, I would love to be as creative as u all. Every single thing I have seen it beautiful. I keep showing my DD (8) everything I see...she wants it all!!!

I did some sewing in hs, and loved it. And then a few years after hs bought a sewing maching....which was approx 1990 And u guessed it, I have barely touched it since. :confused3

:cutie: Well Anyway Great Work everyone!!! :cutie:

Welcome! We are the friendly nosy type here, so we will want pictures of your daughter in something cute that you've made as soon as possible!

I love that pattern! The skirt and the pj pants came out great. The peasant top is just as easy, maybe easier than the skirt, believe it or not.

This is sooo cute! I love the applique!

Thank you!

OK, I have some pictures of the complete outfits for our trip ready. DH has the camera so I can't take the rest yet. My question to everyone is...do you want to see what I have planned now and wait for the cruise outfits (I haven't taken those yet) or should I post later in the week when I can post everything all at once? I'm getting sooo exccited!! Is it too early to start packing? Will the outfits get wrinkled if I pack now?

My MIL starts packing months before her trip. DH and I make fun of her, but she never forgets anything (unlike us!). I want to see them now and later, is that ok?

The pattern is McCalls M5133

funny I just looked for the pattern and saw it has a pattern in it for a twirly type skirt too. haha there are three different skirt styles in the pattern.

Cool, you don't need another pattern to try a twirly skirt. Good luck!

I think you'll find a few someones who will care! Very cute cheerleader fabric and they will make a very cute skirt!

That's okay! I mix up my own kid's names sometimes. I also call them both by the dog's names, and the dogs by the kid's names, and the dogs by each other's names.

Hey, how'd you put an "accent agu" (have no idea if that is spelled right) on top of your e?

Thank you for not giving me the :snooty: about the names. I do know their names, honest!

Before I post I press the little ABC check mark in the upper left corner. Then it tells me I spelled upholstery, definitely and unfortunately wrong, and then it asks me if I want a little accent over the e in "applique." I always say yes!

My sleeves came out short too, I think it's just the pattern. I think the outfit came out great!

Good news! It is so frustrating when it doesn't work and you can't figure out why.

I went to JoAnn's today and bought three patterns (one for M and two for me) and some white linen-like material to make a portrait blouse. I don't really feel like sewing though. Maybe I should tackle the laundry on top of the dryer!

I've got you both beat. I have about 5 loads of laundry done but sitting on my bedroom floor to be folded and what I have folded is still there. My kids will come into my room to pick out their outfits for school. I am soooo bad about getting it put away, usually I can get it folded.

I'm way behind, but I had to comment on this! When I tell my girls to get something (jammies, socks, whatever.....) they automatically go to my bedroom and look for their "pile" on my floor. If they don't have a "pile" (which is very rare!) they almost don't know what to do! I don't mind doing laundry and I don't mind folding it, but I HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! putting it away!

I was originally going to use a white shirt and doing some type of applique with the hot pink material. The only other shirt I have is a blushy colored pink and I'm not sure it will look good with it. I also bought her some hot pink leggings to wear under it when it is cool.

They make silver rick-rack. I think I have some that I bought for something! They also make gold, metallic purple and red and maybe black and probably some others. Those are just the ones I've used.

I think the "I love troy" idea is going to be super cute. Drew took HSM cupcakes to Kindergarten for her b-day and when the girls saw that they had rings with faces on them they all started yelling "I want a troy!" I don't remember liking boys when I was 5.:confused3 What's going on nowadays?

I loooooooooooooooooove this! I loved the one she made her daughter as well and as soon as I get done with Parker's Valentine/HSM stuff and Strawberry Shortcake outfit, I am going to have to CAB that. It is just too stinkin' cute!

I HATE LAUNDRY TOO! I'm another that doesn't mind doing it but putting it away is the pits!

Don't let Parker hear about those rings b/c she will have a fit! She is only 3 and talks about Troy all the time. She is a die hard fan for HSM 1 & 2. If I knew how to upload video I would show you all her singing "Start of Something New". She knows all the songs and even quotes the movie 1/2 the time. Good thing me and her brother also love the movies or we would have a problem.

I decided to start sewing some things for this year's trip, since I went through my pictures from last year and really wasn't happy with the pictures of the stuff that I made. This is the first outfit I made:

I have two more that are done that I will post tonight. You guys really inspire me. All this sewing has been my relaxing time lately. My grandfather has been in the hospital the past two weeks, my dad is having some tests done, I have to go for an MRI on Wed. and my 4 yo dd is being evaluated for a bunch of different things we are waiting to hear about. I haven't been sleeping well and this has been the only thing that helps me just not think about everything else :) Sorry for the book!!

Here is the second outfit I made:

This one actually took me the longest so far. I haven't decided if I am done with the skirt yet or if I want to add a ruffle. Any advice comes greatly appreciated!!

I hope this doesn't show up twice.

This is the third outfit that I made. I haven't decided whether or not to add the white eyelet to the capris. Anyone have any opinions?

Actually her reward is a trip to the BBB when we go on our surprise trip in December. It's funny, she was on the potty and I thought she was asking for a Bibbiti Bobbiti Boo 'cake" and she kept getting frustrated with me. Then I realized she wants to go to the boutique like her sisters did this past December. So, I sat down with her and we designed a Belle outfit for the BBB!

 Yeah for the little one...a special trip to BBB. How cool with that be...!!! Hey since you already designed her Belle outfit for BBB...let's see a picture?? :thumbsup2

I just wanted to let you know we just spent five minutes staring at your sig photos. I don't think I have ever told you how gorgeous they are, and apparently Megan loves them too because she wouldn't let me move on!

:cloud9: Awww you just made my day!!! Thank you so much!!! Here is a special little Valentine we put together for Megan!!! She is such a cutie!!!

I was eating some CORE pizza with Teresa. Teresa, my mom, and I all started doing the Weight Watchers core plan recently. My mom figured out how to make pizza dough with oatmeal! If anyone is interested in her "recipe", let me know. It was really yummy!
:

Wow....pizza dough from oatmeal?? Who woulda thought!!?? I would love to see the recipe Heather!!! Thanks!

:cheer2: :cheer2: for her!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I woke Emma up at 6:30 and she was dry    We were so excited! I walked in there with a clean sheet in hand ready for the mess, and there was none!!!!!!!! She is doing wonderful and loves going potty... She hasn't let me forget about Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique either!

:thumbsup2 Year for Emma!!! Yeah for you!!!!!! :woohoo:
