Carla - I'm studying it! Thanks so much for the instructions. I can see how this design could be VERY versatile! More bang for the buck! AND save space in the suitcase for trips to the world!

Okay here are the lastest things I've been doing.

Valentine bag - not in love with this but it's going to have to do.

This is the bag again and then tea (dish) towels that I will give to the kids teachers for Valentine's Day -

I love the bag. YOu could make these as gift bags, too, with candles down inside for gift.

THis is adorable, and you did a great job on the applique. What font did you use for the lettering?

Thanks. I actually used a scrabooking stencil and traced it on the back of the fabric. I knew all those scrapbooking supplies would come in handy some day!

Steph - love both the NEMO outfit and the Ariel one.

Thank you! I love the bag and the towels. What a great idea for a teacher gift. I can never think of anything good. They will love them!

O.k. I am trying to get a better pic. of the guitar outfit and for some reason it is just giving me fits. The close up came out o.k.

I don't know what I am doing to mess this up though.

I was trying to find the link to the boden shirt that I copied, but a picture isn't showing up. I'll look for that again later. Maybe there sight is down or something.

Still AWESOME!!

WOW, you guys remembered me, and my grandchildren, and my daughter who is in recovery! You are all so awesome!

I didn't know the thread was gone. Are there archives of the photos?

So Sad!

I have been so so busy. Jamie and her husband and Cameron were recently homeless in North Phila. and are staying with us until they are on their feet. So I get to come home and wake up to my darling grandson Cameron, now 10 months and 24 pounds of joy. SIL finally got a job in a foundry here and he has worked one week. He is trying to enlist in the Army for all of the family benefits. He just has to pass the physical...don't know how that will go.

Makayla is now 3! Where does the time go? I haven't had time to sew or to respond to any of the threads, but I was following everyone's creations and they are just as great as imagined!

Thanks for thinking of me. Had to cancel my upcoming trip to WDW for my 58th birthday...too much commotion with trying to help Jamie and family.

I am soooo glad you checked in! Sorry to hear about your DD, I'm sure they will be on their feet soon!!!!

I love them both! what a great gift!

I talked to Heather yesterday (via e-mail) and she still had a lots of snow and couldn't go anywhere so maybe she has been busy with the kids. Or sewing!

I actually whipped something up. I had the skirt, which I made last summer. But I thought I would try an appliquéd shirt with it because I never was thrilled with the peasant top I previously made. Megan liked it so much she wore it to school today (instead of the Ariel which I spent two whole days on!). She does love Nemo!

Adorable as always! I am sooo jealous that she is wearing something like that to school -- waaaaay to cold for that here!

These are GREAT! The teachers will love those!

I bought a National machine (Older than this one if you can believe that-it was all metal and weighs a TON LOL) years ago (in Michigan). There is a store in Waterford that gets/got them in on trade. They were able to come up with a copy of the manual for mine. Let me see if I can remember the name of the store and maybe they can help you. (I LOVED the machine by the way!)

Universal sewing center
2570 Dixie Hwy
Waterford Mi

It is a long shot but maybe they can help

Thank you so much for the help. I may just get this manual yet.

I'm sorry, I was thinking about that when I was taking the pictures. Poor Heather is snowed in and I played tennis this morning and Megan wore a t-shirt to school. Just think, by the time it's warm up there, it will be unbearably hot and humid down here! ;)

That turned out great! I love the idea of scanning the fabric to use for an iron on. That's very smart!

She needs to post the pictures of the matching tees she made for the shorts she bought the family last year.

Well, I've decided to make a top out of my dress. If I decide I don't like it, I can always buy material for another dress. My DD22 found a design out of the same type of material that she wants for a shirt. We need to get DD19 there to pick one out.

I love the sleeves on that shirt. Where did you buy it? You did a great job on the applique.

THis is cute! Do you just leave the edges raw? How much of an allowance do you leave for it to be raw?

ANy ideas on something I can make for a dear cousin's baby shower. She is having a boy, and I want to make her something. ANy ideas?

Look on www.chasing-fireflies.com . They have lots of cute boy stuff that I always think would be cool to do if I had any boys! I think you could find lots of simple shapes that you could applique.

I have seen some really cute things done for boys w/ monsters made of all different colors. They look kinda like those dolls that I think are called "ugly dolls".

I haven't caught up on the last day and a half, but here's what I was working on yesterday. A gigantic Ariel head dress! The 3rd picture is our Michigan version of a sundress and the 4th picture is Tessa boxing. As we all know, Ariel is quite the boxer. :confused3

This went pretty fast, but I'm not real happy with the way it fits her. I shirred it in the back, but it's still too loose. The fabric is sparkly variegated colors with gold hearts.

This is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I may just have to CASE this! Tessa is just too darn pretty!

I bought it for $2 from Wal Mart! Do you want me to check to see if they have any left?

There you are! I knew you were sewing! That Ariel looks familiar! That fabric for the dress is beautiful and I think it came out very well. Tom says if you steam the shirring with a hot iron it will tighten up, did you try that?

Since we got the wii for Christmas, Megan likes to box too. She can beat DH, Jacob and me at it!
