I am loving all of the valentines outfits and the one with the guitar is soo cool! Sorry I haven't been on lately, this thread goes so fast and my special needs daughter had a rough week so I didn't get much computer time :(

Here is a new Cinderella outfit that I got of the site I shouldn't mention. My dd fell in love with it!

this is sooo cute! Hope your daughter is feeling better!

I found our pictures from when Arminda donated her hair to Locks Of Love. She was in 1st grade in these pictures, so she was almost 7. I still have a hard time looking at these pictures!

Before getting it cut. She looks nervous in this picture, but she was just very excited

I really would NOT recommend this for a firs haircut!!! WAAAAAAAAAY to traumatic for Mommy!

She got this cut just before we went to Florida that year. She said the only thing she was upset about was that she didn't look like Belle with the short hair!

Oh Teresa! I would be sobbing too! However, she would still be cute even if she were bald!
So yesterday I I ran around and purchased fabric to finish DD8's VD dress and all I ended up making was a hair elastic to go with it. I feel like I need to make a shirt that says, ' My mom bought fabric and has a sewing machine and all I got was this hair elastic.' Everything I make I try to make a matching hair elastic, but that seems to be the only thing that comes out.

I went to Joanne's looking for cheetah fabric for DD5's skirt. All I have is silky cheetah, silky black and cotton black. I think I'm going to do square strips and make a matching white t-shirt Mickey in cheetah. I just wanted something else then silky. Hated everything they had at Joannes. I think I'm going to hit walmart tonight while the girls are at dance. Have to finish DD5 VD skirt first!!
:rotfl: :rotfl2: That's funny! Good luck on finishing and finding fabric!

I wanted to say sorry to the person who had their property trashed! And then thought they were going to get back their deposit!:confused3 And what a gutsy grandma you have!

Sorry if I missed anyone! Everytime I get on here I am at least 5 pages behind and with my little one not feeling well it makes it hard to keep up! I am tired of this crazy weather because it is making her stay sick!

dd started singing today- It was so cute :cutie: She is turning into a little talker too!! Maybe the two of them can talk to each other and give me a little break- So what do you think the chances of that are? :rotfl2:

Oh no, they'll both try to talk to you all the time. Usually at the same time. :rotfl2:

O.k. I am trying to get a better pic. of the guitar outfit and for some reason it is just giving me fits. The close up came out o.k.

I don't know what I am doing to mess this up though.

I was trying to find the link to the boden shirt that I copied, but a picture isn't showing up. I'll look for that again later. Maybe there sight is down or something.

I found Susan on our fabric swap thread and pm'ed her a link to this thread. hope she comes back and finds us!!!

WOW, you guys remembered me, and my grandchildren, and my daughter who is in recovery! You are all so awesome!

I didn't know the thread was gone. Are there archives of the photos?

So Sad!

I have been so so busy. Jamie and her husband and Cameron were recently homeless in North Phila. and are staying with us until they are on their feet. So I get to come home and wake up to my darling grandson Cameron, now 10 months and 24 pounds of joy. SIL finally got a job in a foundry here and he has worked one week. He is trying to enlist in the Army for all of the family benefits. He just has to pass the physical...don't know how that will go.

Makayla is now 3! Where does the time go? I haven't had time to sew or to respond to any of the threads, but I was following everyone's creations and they are just as great as imagined!

Thanks for thinking of me. Had to cancel my upcoming trip to WDW for my 58th birthday...too much commotion with trying to help Jamie and family.

I just got word that Banberry Place has new Farbenmix patterns. One of them is called insa. It's a gored twirl skirt that an ebayer uses. She typically does Made to Match Gymboree clothes (M2MG). I just bought it and can't wait to use it when it comes in. I have a few scraps of specialty fabrics that I want to showcase. I think this will show them better than a full gathered skirt. Now special fabric to me means that I paid $4 a yard or more for it! Yay!

Just heard back from susan- Hope we hear from her soon!! :)

SUSANMB has been found!!!!

Now who else are we missing??????

I talked to Heather yesterday (via e-mail) and she still had a lots of snow and couldn't go anywhere so maybe she has been busy with the kids. Or sewing!

I actually whipped something up. I had the skirt, which I made last summer. But I thought I would try an appliquéd shirt with it because I never was thrilled with the peasant top I previously made. Megan liked it so much she wore it to school today (instead of the Ariel which I spent two whole days on!). She does love Nemo!

Here's a little tute on how to make the reversible twirl skirt:
pettitwirl4.jpg

I've been promising one of my friends that I would put this together for her, so this was a good excuse to get it done :)

Now, this is nowhere as detailed as one of my eBooks, and the illustrations are far from perfect, but it gives the basics of the construction. It can be made without a ruffler, but it will take A LOT of gathering.

Oh, and here is a pic of how I keep my tulle folded in half during ruffling - I just reroll it, folding as I go. If you leave it overnight, it will form a crease. If you are in a hurry, you can set the crease by blasting the roll with steam from an iron (just don't touch the tulle with the iron).

I'm loving all the new creations! I'm off to go read some more...

That is very cute. Sometimes it's the simpler things that just set off an outfit perfectly.

OK, so the tulle is just at the bottom? And on one section?
What kind of fabric do you use for the lining?

Love the guitar outfit and the bball one too. I'm a bball girl more than a rock n' roll girl but they are both adorable.
I may have to make the bball one for my DD that plays bball, if I made it for the one that watches I'd be in trouble. OHHH, I'm thinking bball with KU fabric in the strips, for when the JAYHAWKS win the NCAA tourney (okay I know I may be getting ahead of myself especially since they just lost to KSU - what's up w/ that).

Okay here are the lastest things I've been doing.

Valentine bag - not in love with this but it's going to have to do.
school07-08173.jpg

This is the bag again and then tea (dish) towels that I will give to the kids teachers for Valentine's Day -

Steph - love both the NEMO outfit and the Ariel one.

THis is cute! Do you just leave the edges raw? How much of an allowance do you leave for it to be raw?

ANy ideas on something I can make for a dear cousin's baby shower. She is having a boy, and I want to make her something. ANy ideas?
