I know what you can do about how it fits though...... Give it to Lydia!!!!

You knew that was coming, didn't you!
Yup! ;)

By the way, I cannot keep up! I logged on yesterday and we were at 90 pages and today we are at 116!

I hate that I am missing good stuff!

You guys are just too fast!
I usually only go back a few pages when I get on here. That way, I can stay fairly current on what people are talking about. I hate that I miss things, though!

Hating to beat a dead horse. BUT...

Any news on when the old thread is going to be brought back and sticked to the top so that we have access to the information that was posted there? Just to recap, initially we were told 24 hours, then 48 hours, then it was Monday... Well, this is day 8. Where is the thread? Is it coming back? When?

ALSO, what has been the decision regarding long threads in the future? I thought the initial pull was for threads over 10,000 responses. IF this thread continues at the rate that it has gone for the past 8 days, then we have maybe 38 more days before THIS thread will be gone as well. What is the plan of action to archive the information that is here so that we don't get stuck ONCE AGAIN losing everything... never to be seen again.

Any ideas on how to protect our time and energy investment here?
I haven't heard anything, but I was wondering about the fate of our old thread (and the new one) too!

I had to go find this post when I saw it in a multi-quote. Husbands who are willing to model a home-made shirt for you are few and far between! You've got a keeper! I love the shirt!

She definitely has a unique man! He's a great guy (almost as good as mine)! :lmao:

We have those tees at Walmart too - but in long sleeves. It is starting to get easier to find short sleeve tees in Michigan now. Good thing I didn't need to buy any for our trip! I'm down to single digit days!! I'm sooo excited!!

HeatherSue - very cute! I love the color on that dress!

Carla - thanks for giving us the instructons for that adorable skirt! Wouldn't you know it, my DS gets to be my model sometimes too...

We've discussed how much therapy this boy will need on this thread many times!

What size is that pink petti? It must be way too small for Emily? Don't you want to find a new home for it? :rolleyes1 I WANT IT!

O.k. I am trying to get a better pic. of the guitar outfit and for some reason it is just giving me fits. The close up came out o.k.
guitarcloseup.jpg

I don't know what I am doing to mess this up though.

I was trying to find the link to the boden shirt that I copied, but a picture isn't showing up. I'll look for that again later. Maybe there sight is down or something.

I am sooooo wanting to CASE this, but I will have to settle for a CAB. Where do you guys find the guitar fabric? I haven't sewn a stitch since I got back from my trip a whole week ago. I'm going into withdrawls!

These are the outfits that Vicki was referring to. I bought the shorts and made the shirts to match. We got a ton of comments from other guests and CMs. Each shirt has a hidden character too.

Luke is a lucky guy! I said "Luke do you wanna see who you're going to marry?" When he stopped shadow boxing he said "are there more pictures of Tessa on here?" :rotfl: :rotfl2: I love that dress and the way the fabric goes with Ariel's hair! So cool! And Tessa is so gorgeous!
That is so sweet!! Too funny that he was boxing, too! I'm not sure where you guys live, but Luke will have to move to my hometown. My little girl isn't getting married and moving far away from her mommy! :rotfl:

So Heather, where's Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit? We want to see it!
It's not done! I made some red (lightweight) velvet pants and a white short sleeved jacket. But, I have to put snaps on the jacket and I still have to add all the embellishing stuff to it. I'm just kind of lost as to what to do next! I don't know how to make those things that go on the shoulder that look like brushes. I have the braided tassle trim, but I don't know how to make the shoulder pad thing, or how to attach it to the jacket.

This is what I've been busy doing the past few days. I'm not happy with the fabrics I chose for the patchwork skirts. Too busy!!! I needed to get a solid color in there. But it was the first time I did them and I'll know better next time. I used a full 2x the width of each row.....and I hand gathered the ruffles......Oh my gosh it took forever!!! One is a size 12 and the other is a size 4. I still have to make the baby one but hopefully that won't be as bad! And the apron is a present for my SIL. We get together and sew every friday night so I thought this would come in handy.

Wow! Those skirts are really cute! I don't think they look too busy at all, great job!
That apron is fantastic! How fun that you and your SIL get together to sew every Friday. It sounds healthier than the Friday night tradition Teresa and I have- get together and eat pizza.

Arminda (and all the other girls too) was 5 in these pictures

Unfortunately, there was a great big mirror in the room, so basically, all Arminda ever did was stare at herself!!!!
There's my little peanut!!! She was just so adorable and tiny!!!! She still is!

I just found this thread last week, and have been reading to try and catch up ( I haven't yet) You ladies are so talented! You insipired me so much, I signed up for a sewing class! I love, love, love looking at all your pics! Thanks for posting them along with your tips!

When I do a Google search, the cached version of our old thread shows up, but I have yet to figure out how to find the specific posts that I linked to in my bookmarks. I tried the WayBackMachine, but that didnt work when I typed in the links to the posts. I'm still working on uncovering our lost thread though. Of course, that would be a LOT easier if they just brought back our thread! Come on guys (meaning those that rule the DIS), this isn't nice!!! That was a lot of work!

Here's what Sawyer was doing while I was sewing:

He got into my ebay supplies.
If anyone from the USPS is reading this- I rolled these back up will use them for official priority mail packages only! :thumbsup2

That is so pretty Heather! And, look at my little Soybean!!! Such a cutie!

I agree, he is lucky! :lovestruc So, he knows all about this marriage thing, right?

Very cool, I love the hidden characters!!!
There's my little peanut!!! She was just so adorable and tiny!!!! She still is!

She is, Lydia is quickly catching up!

Ok, I took pictures of the rocket, I'll post them in a minute....

Those are so cool! So you scanned the shorts and then printed out on iron on paper? How original: I love it!

Welcome! I can't wait to see what you make.

On a similiar vein as the Nemo shirt, I made this while Megan was at school. She must have grown four inches since last summer, because that skirt is short! I don't know what I am going to do about that. Maybe just pass it along to a friend with a little one.

I think they turned out great! I made a patchwork twirl skirt that way too--once! It WAS a lot of work!

A friend with a little one? :rolleyes1 I think you have a few here! Just whip up a matching T--size 3T with a "L", don't worry, if needed I can re-size the elastic in the waist. :lmao: You are killing me with the new outfit every day Steph! Love the Nemo shirt BTW. I'm still trying to start sewing today. I have to pick up DS at school and then go back and pick up DD an hour later (she has to stay after to get caught up :scared1: ). Someday.....

From Megan: I would like to play in Lydia's rocket clubhouse in the snow please. Then she can come over and play in mine in no snow.

Well, I'm really trying to get some more use out of some skirts where the tops look really bad! You can tell they were my first attempts. I do need to pay attention to my house though, the laundry is still in the dryer and the breakfast dishes are still in the sink. Appliquéing on shirts is just more fun!

Hope you get to sew today!

I haven't caught up on the last day and a half, but here's what I was working on yesterday. A gigantic Ariel head dress! The 3rd picture is our Michigan version of a sundress and the 4th picture is Tessa boxing. As we all know, Ariel is quite the boxer. :confused3

This went pretty fast, but I'm not real happy with the way it fits her. I shirred it in the back, but it's still too loose. The fabric is sparkly variegated colors with gold hearts.

I LOVE THIS! Lydia is just tooo cute!

The pictures should work now! Sorry about that!
-------------------------------------
I also found pictures of Arminda in her ballet class! Remember way back on our old board when we were sharing these! Well, now I can too!

Arminda (and all the other girls too) was 5 in these pictures:

As you can see, Arminda is very very short! The teacher actually had to put in another barre so Arminda could reach it!

The studio wasn't quite finished for this first class! But, isn't Arminda a cutie!!!
