I used to buy the elastic in the precut packages. Then I found out Joann's includes the by the yard elastic in the "50% off notions wall sale" :cheer2: :cheer2: . So I stock up during that sale!

I am so excited about this!!! I love little money saving tips and this is a great one. It really doesn’t take much to excite me :rotfl:

Well, I definitely have the "Emily" pose!
DisneytripFall2007267-2.jpg

Do we have this pose down yet?
vds1004.jpg

And you can't forget the "I am smiling Daddy!.... SEE?!"
vds1033.jpg

Leigh is sooo cute :) I love the Valentines outfits. I really like the layered ruffles on the sides. I may have to give that a try.

I love the poses! Leslie, When I think of an "Emily" pose, I think of that one where she is glancing over her shoulder. I think she is wearing the Tink with the elastic straps. She is so cute in that picture and looks like a model.

Anywho, this is what I did today! I am so happy to be finished!

Showing off Flounder

100_2215.jpg

She wanted this in here, to show off her house:

100_2216.jpg

The pillowcase part is a little stiff, hopefully after we wash it a few times it will soften up. My husband was so funny, he saw me cutting up the pillowcase and said, are you just going to leave Flounder there? You should put him on the back. So I did. When I finished the top last night he said, It's cool, but I'm not a fan of the big face. Why does her face have to be so big? I guess you have to really like the big faced princesses to like these outfits, lol!

Oh, the scalloped edge skirt was so easy! It took a while for me to do, probably because I am slow, but it's wasn't hard at all and the directions were terrific. Next time I might attempt it with tulle, but I do like this look so she can wear it to school and Disney. Thanks Carla!

I guess I am a fan of the big face princesses:) I love your Ariel outfit. We are an Ariel loving household. Leanne has always loved Ariel. She was our first princess obsession.

The time has come for the much anticipated Doodlebops concert. We leave tomorrow. My DD has been very excited. I promised her that I would make her a skirt. I had the embroidered panels done a week ago. I've been sick for two weeks, the last 3 days have been very, very bad. We also had a death that we had do deal with so that cut into some sewing time. This isn't my best work by any means. But I'm sure my DD will love it, and I was able to get it done, which is the most important thing at this point.
IMG_3342.jpg
IMG_3343.jpg
IMG_3344.jpg

The DeeDee panel is the front.

Obviously, I need to come up with a top. I'm gonna check the weather to see if I can alter a short sleeve t-shirt. Whatever I do, it's gonna have to be easy and quick. Any ideas?

You did a wonderful job on this. Your DD will be a show stopper at the concert. I also love it with the denim jacket. It really looks great.

Today has been such a crazy day. My DH woke me up this morning and said Leanne felt warm. I went to take her temp and it was 104 :scared1: She felt like she was on fire.... not warm. Anyway- I took her to the doctor this morning and she has the flu  Yuck!

The tenants moved out of one of our rental properties and they totally trashed the place. My husbands repair list included drywall??? I just do not understand people. They also tore out our entire back yard :confused3 We will have to completely re-sod the yard. They also ruined the brand new wood floors in the kitchen. Then they called and said can you tell us what else we need to do to get our deposit back? :lmao:

I had a sewing day with my grandma planned for today. I tried to cancel, but she insisted she has had a flu shot she will be fine (I really hope she doesn’t get this) so she came anyway. We did finish several dresses for Katie. I can not wait to post pictures.

My grandmother is 72 and but she is so spunky. She didn’t leave until 9:30 this evening. I was done at 7, but she was still going so I tried to keep up! Anyway- she left my house and I tried to get her to follow me to the main road. She refused to let me show her how to get out of here. Well, 35 minutes after she leaves she calls me on a stranger’s cell phone (her was uncharged- must be hereditary?) to tell me she was 35 minutes south of my house... I freaked. I was in the car on my way to find her and she refused to stay where she was. She had found a trucker who led her to a gas station, bought her gas and got her on the correct path home:scared1: I was so scared for her. She calls me when she gets home and says she is safe and she is sorry etc. I told her how worried I was and how scared I was she was with a stranger. My grandmother says "Don't worry Lace I had my quilting scissors in my pocket, I was fine!" So ladies there is one more use for our Ginger sewing scissors :) Crazy grandma... you gotta love her.

I am going to bed I am exhausted.

Ok, I'm going to be MIA this weekend. We are potty training and we start cold turkey tomorrow morning. I can't leave dd2's side, so I won't be on here much, maybe naptime and after bedtime. I also have a lot of sewing to catch up on! I just dread coming back on Monday to 75 pages to catch up on!!!! So, everyone needs to stay busy this weekend and keep the posting to a minimum :rolleyes1 It was a nice thought!

Good luck with the potty training!!!

Now if that's not a great tag line...nothing is!!!! I just might steal it!

Tag Fairy, where are you?
I don't think the tag fairy knows who I am! LOL

Riley wanted me to make something for Drew to wear to her basketball games. Riley also wanted me to tell you that Drew doesn't tuck the shirt in all dorky like that and that I just did that so the words showed up in the picture!

goriley.jpg
That is too cute and I just had to laugh about what Riley said. I could hear my nieces saying the same thing. Hahahaha.

Whenever you post a photo I look for Scrappy too. :lmao: He's a cutie pie!

Instead of "Where's Waldo"...it's "Find Scrappy". :lmao:

Here she is at Disneyland, just outside of Grizzly River Rapids with Seth and 2 of Sugarbees boys (NO CUSTOMS :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We were so naive! )

P1020449.jpg
Aww they are ALL soooo CUTE!!!! :goodvibes

The Luke:

(yes, that is drool on the sheet, and no, I did not paint those walls! They were like that when we moved in and I took this photo before the room got re-painted)

P1020352.jpg

this is the kid that actually fell asleep on the merry-go-round last October.:scared1:
DSCN2494.jpg

Way too cute!!

Okay, got my camera battery charged. Here are my Minnie Head panels, there are 2 different poses and I threw a dinner plate in there to show you the size. If I don't mess up my applique too much I should have a few of these Minnie Heads to give away in a few days.

IMG_0886.jpg

Here is what I am doing with one. I found a pattern with a slightly larger bodice than the stripwork jumper. I traced the pattern piece on my heat-n-bond then ironed it on to Minnie then trimmed her out using the pattern piece for some of the borders. I still need to cut out the actual bodice and put it on that. I will probably use the purple fabric in the background (and for the rest of the bodice), but not 100% sure yet. I didn't want the bow to be the only pink thing in there so I used a purple fabric marker to change the bow from pink to purple, but I doubt that it will show much once seams are sewn and the shoulder straps flap over the top. The skirt will be the floral mickey/minnie fabric. Not sure how it will turn out, but DD LOVES Minnie so she won't complain

IMG_0880.jpg

BTW for those of you w/this fabric, it also looks really cute with denim.

WOW, those panels look awesome and I think your outfit is going to be darling. I can't wait to see it finished!!!

ahhh I Miss WDW! We stayed at the poly and your super sweet pictures make me miss it!
Lori

Awww, thank you!!!! I wish I was there at WDW right now!!!

How sweet! Your little one is adorable!
!

:cloud9: Thank you so much!!!

The other week, I picked Arminda up at school, and what do I see sitting by the road (in the garbage?) a ROCKET!!!!!! Lydia has told us all that she is going to be an astronaut since before she was 2, so this was a BIG DEAL!! So, I threw as much of it in my van as I could, dropped it off at home then went back to get the rest! Lydia was SOOOOOO excited!!! It was FREEEEEZING out that day, but she put on her "space suit" AKA:snowsuit and played in it for at least an hour!!!

Great picture!!! Those pants are so cute!

:
Thanks for the compliments!!!! :lovestruc
Hey I wanna see the ROCKET....where are the pictures!!!!???? :confused3

One more post before I'm off to bed!

I did this today while the girls were at school. I was kind of experimenting with raw edges. I know that's really "in" right now, but when you are making something it just seems to go against everything mom taught me when I was learning to sew!

rockoutfit.jpg

OMG I love this....LOVE IT!!!

Ok, so I want to get in on the "paying it forward" on the thread lately sooo...

I will make a Valentine Mickey tee in any size (girl or boy!) for the first person to guess my son's middle name. I will give 1 hint. It is a name of a Disney character. Good Luck!

How cool!!!! Is it Dale?

I'm BAWLING! Look at those babies! Too bad our super cute pic from DW has #$%@# in it...:rotfl: :rotfl: Guess you could always cover his face w/a Mickey sticker....:lmao:

That is a cute set! Is that paint on the pants?

Wow, what a day! I hope Leanne is better soon. And, what the heck is wrong with people trashing the place, then expecting their deposit back?:confused3
I'm glad your grandma made it home safely! :scared1:

Hey I wanna see the ROCKET....where are the pictures!!!!???? :confused3
I keep meening to take some picures! It's cool!

I'd love to see this picture, I hope they have you crop it!

I found our pictures from when Arminda donated her hair to Locks Of Love. She was in 1st grade in these pictures, so she was almost 7. I still have a hard time looking at these pictures!

Before getting it cut. She looks nervous in this picture, but she was just very excited

I really would NOT recommend this for a firs haircut!!! WAAAAAAAAAY to traumatic for Mommy!

She got this cut just before we went to Florida that year. She said the only thing she was upset about was that she didn't look like Belle with the short hair!

I am to far behind and to tired to multiquote tonight so I will apologize in advance for missing anyone.
Billwendy- I love that you get to go on so many big family trips to disney!!!

Teresa- :yay: :yay: A rocket!!! My dh rescued a leaf blower from the trash this fall the only thing wrong- was it was missing the bagger part! My dh was SO excited!!

Was it the Emma? in the wendy nightgown - That was cute- I don't know where they come up with those poses.

Tnmom-Good luck with the Potty training!!

Revrob- Have fun at the Doodlebops- And feel better!!

The pictures at the GF beach were cute!! I would love to take my mom to disney- She has never been :scared1:

Adoptionmomma- sounds like one of my grandmas- She doesn't have a cell phone and won't take help from you. They need to be careful- Don't they know we worry about them!! And sorry about the tenants leaving a mess!!

I will have to drop to reading only status too for a couple days-busy busy!!

dd started singing today- It was so cute :cutie: She is turning into a little talker too!! Maybe the two of them can talk to each other and give me a little break- So what do you think the chances of that are? :rotfl2:

I also found pictures of Arminda in her ballet class! Remember way back on our old board when we were sharing these! Well, now I can too!

Arminda (and all the other girls too) was 5 in these pictures:

024272342f33fe779707139e9c543d17f96.jpg

As you can see, Arminda is very very short! The teacher actually had to put in another barre so Arminda could reach it!

The studio wasn't quite finished for this first class! But, isn't Arminda a cutie!!!
32707723907d6fe02e2cec8d5666a2503a7.jpg

Unfortunately, there was a great big mirror in the room, so basically, all Arminda ever did was stare at herself!!!!

Ok, I sewed my first outfit for myself! :lmao: Actually, it only required one straight seam down the back as it came off the bolt like this. You just buy two inches more than across the chest. I was looking for anything with animal print and ran across this. They had about 4 or 5 other types. They also had shorter ones for little girls.

dress002.jpg

I think that thick ribbon straps double layered would look super cute. like black with animal print on top.

One more post before I'm off to bed!

Is it Peter, John, Michael??? haha I just had to watch Peter Pan with yesterday.

I am not sure who made this but ever since my dd saw it, she has been asking for one. If I remember correctly, the tink on the body is from a pillowcase panel from Kmart? We don't have a Kmart here, and I have looked at about 4 of the different Walmart nearby but the ones they have is different, and she doesn't want that one. Would someone be willing to pick one up for me. I will pay you for it, of course!

tinkdress004.jpg

Thanks,
Jenny

I got that same fish fabric to do shorts or a skirt for an Ariel top! So funny that we thought of the same thing!! Of course I haven't even started on mine yet! Hooray for you. She looks so cute!

I love the tutti fruitti fabric! I can't wait to see what you make with yours.

Very cute- Well you can't just leave flounder sitting there waiting to be used someday...
The kids love the playhouses- ds calls ours the "clubhouse"

I would have never thought of using Flounder until he said something, it turns out my husband is a better designer than me!

Very cute, I may have to CASE that. I have the Ariel pillowcase just waiting for insipiration! Oh, and tell Meghan thanks for the playhouse photos. Luke is climbing all over me yelling "I WANT THAT PLAYHOUSE! I WANT THAT PLAYHOUSE!" Nevermind we have a very similar one--yours "HAS A MAILBOX!"

I will tell her. She got that for her birthday when she was two. I am glad I talked DH into a good sturdy one. It's gotten a lot of use!

Wow, your daughter is so beautiful, she looks like a model. And you son's hair, so cute! They both have the most prettiest hair.

Neat! Is your younger DD in Kindergarten or did she just turn 5? Megan gets ready pretty well on her own now, but Wyatt still wants help. I do have to nag to keep them both moving in the morning, though. Guess that's what mothers are for. :confused3 :lmao:

Megan gets dressed on her own, but it takes some reminding about time management. DD5 is in kindergarten and it's half day - afternoon - which I can't stand. She is an independent fashion conscious 5 yo! Everything has to match. I'm not that picky, but she is very aware of it for some reason. She's one of the reasons I'm making some of the outfits because she likes them to coordinate.

Ohh that is darling and so is Megan!!! Graet job!! How do you guys whip all this stuff up so quickly?? I am in awe!!!! :confused3

Well, if you ignore all housework for two days, then it's no problem! I will be paying for it today!

This looks great!!!!!!!!!! You did a great job!!

Thank you! You know I need the validation of my sewing buddies!

I think this would look great as a pool coverup or as a top with black shorts. :thumbsup2 I think black ribbon ties would be easy and cute!

Looks fantastic - well done :)

Thank you!

These pictures are awesome! They look like they should be hanging in a gallery! I love the pants too.

Thanks! Well - as far as the sleeves. Since I had to add after the sleeves were cut and sewn into the body - I decided to put the elastic there to hide the seam. It worked out good!

It worked out great! They look perfect to me!

I love it Steph!

I had to go back and look three times before I saw what you were talking about!

th_Wendy5.jpg

Thanks! I don't even realize he is in the pictures until I am posting them. He is such a camera hog!

She is so cute!

Great picture! I have been too askeered to try tie dye as of yet. The family pic look so great though.

It looks great! How nice that she wants to cheer for her sister. My mother made my daughter a cheerleading outfit with the panels, it was too hard for me!

100_1904.jpg

I just bought that same pillow case. I am thinking of putting the sebastian on the leg of a pair of shorts or jeans. Did you Applique Arial to a white fabric first? I think the pillow case is a little thin. I really like the Flounder on the back. DId you get the fish fabric at Wal Mart too? I bought a blue bubbly type print.

I used Heat n Bond Lite to attach it to white fabric and then pinned it on the top and then appliquéd. It is a little stiff, but I am hoping when I wash it it will soften up. It does need some kind of backing. The fish and turquoise were at JoAnn's, 30% off in the Tutti Fruitti section. Bubbles would be great too. It was hard to find the right color blue to match her eyes.

Very cute! I hope you feel better and have a great time at the concert.

Well, if you ignore all housework for two days, then it's no problem! I will be paying for it today!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: THis is so me!!!!!!!! I get obsessed with finishing an outfit, and am oblivious to everything else!!!!! Who cares if there is a pile of laundry, the outfit must be finished! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Well, I am glad I am not the only one with this mentality!

Good luck with the potty training! Love "The Emma" by the way! When is her birthday? Lily was born in August and I'm thinking she's pretty close to that potty training. It's me that's having a hard time with the idea.

She'll be 3 on June 20. We're having breakfast right now, then it's time to toss the diapers!!!!! Maybe I'll get to post an update at naptime.

Good luck with that!!!! I was soooo thankful that both of my kids actually wanted to start potty training and both at an early age too!

Have you mapped out a stradegy yet?

We're just going cold turkey and I'm staying by her side for 3 whole days so I can catch her in every accident and immediately rush her to the potty. We'll see!

I love that!

Ok, I have another Giselle dress to make! I should be busy with that! ;)

Why, yes you should! I'm sure someone will be thrilled when you finish that! :rolleyes1

Now, you know I'm in love with those ears already!!!!! I'm only going to guess one time ... Donald?

I forgot to quote Mytwotinks...

I love the basketball outfit, I'm wanting to make dd2 a softball outfit for when dd8 starts this year.

I also LOVED the guitar outfit, I'm sure my girls will too when I show them.

I love all the valentine outfits!!! Too cute!!

Thanks for all the comments about the headband. I purchased instructions, so I can't share them. If you'd like to know where I got them, you can pm me ;)

Good luck with the potty training. My ds will be 3 on June 25, and I am hoping to potty train him soon...he has to be fully potty trained before he starts pre-k in September.

So yesterday I I ran around and purchased fabric to finish DD8's VD dress and all I ended up making was a hair elastic to go with it. I feel like I need to make a shirt that says, ' My mom bought fabric and has a sewing machine and all I got was this hair elastic.' Everything I make I try to make a matching hair elastic, but that seems to be the only thing that comes out.

I went to Joanne's looking for cheetah fabric for DD5's skirt. All I have is silky cheetah, silky black and cotton black. I think I'm going to do square strips and make a matching white t-shirt Mickey in cheetah. I just wanted something else then silky. Hated everything they had at Joannes. I think I'm going to hit walmart tonight while the girls are at dance. Have to finish DD5 VD skirt first!!
