One more post before I'm off to bed!

I did this today while the girls were at school. I was kind of experimenting with raw edges. I know that's really "in" right now, but when you are making something it just seems to go against everything mom taught me when I was learning to sew!

th_rockoutfit.jpg

My nephew is in a band and started a record label (whatever that means for a 20 year old in Kansas?????) and I might put his band name on the back. I think it's named "Parsen". I think Drew would think that was cool to be Austin's groupy! I'm not sure though because I don't know if I am gonna keep it or list it yet.

I just realized how blurry the picture is. I'll fix it tomorrow.

I love that .... think it looks great!

I am loving all of the valentines outfits and the one with the guitar is soo cool! Sorry I haven't been on lately, this thread goes so fast and my special needs daughter had a rough week so I didn't get much computer time :(

Here is a new Cinderella outfit that I got of the site I shouldn't mention. My dd fell in love with it!

So cute! you guys are all so creative!

I had a sewing day with my grandma planned for today. I tried to cancel, but she insisted she has had a flu shot she will be fine (I really hope she doesn’t get this) so she came anyway. We did finish several dresses for Katie. I can not wait to post pictures.

My grandmother is 72 and but she is so spunky. She didn’t leave until 9:30 this evening. I was done at 7, but she was still going so I tried to keep up! Anyway- she left my house and I tried to get her to follow me to the main road. She refused to let me show her how to get out of here. Well, 35 minutes after she leaves she calls me on a stranger’s cell phone (her was uncharged- must be hereditary?) to tell me she was 35 minutes south of my house... I freaked. I was in the car on my way to find her and she refused to stay where she was. She had found a trucker who led her to a gas station, bought her gas and got her on the correct path home:scared1: I was so scared for her. She calls me when she gets home and says she is safe and she is sorry etc. I told her how worried I was and how scared I was she was with a stranger. My grandmother says "Don't worry Lace I had my quilting scissors in my pocket, I was fine!" So ladies there is one more use for our Ginger sewing scissors :) Crazy grandma... you gotta love her.

I am going to bed I am exhausted.
Your Grandma sounds like mine! She is 92 and still lives at home. Her kids had to threaten her to get her to quit driving. She would just hop in and go to Oklahoma to her farm at the drop of a hat. Refuses to carry a cell and noone would have a clue where she was. She always says Oh Huney I will be fine your Grandma's tough. Gotta love her hope I am just like her at 90!

I found our pictures from when Arminda donated her hair to Locks Of Love. She was in 1st grade in these pictures, so she was almost 7. I still have a hard time looking at these pictures!

Before getting it cut. She looks nervous in this picture, but she was just very excited

I really would NOT recommend this for a firs haircut!!! WAAAAAAAAAY to traumatic for Mommy!

She got this cut just before we went to Florida that year. She said the only thing she was upset about was that she didn't look like Belle with the short hair!

How sweet is she! DD and I donate to Locks usually once a year. She looks really cute with short hair too. But I can only imagine how difficult that was for Mom. ;)

Ok, so I want to get in on the "paying it forward" on the thread lately sooo...

I will make a Valentine Mickey tee in any size (girl or boy!) for the first person to guess my son's middle name. I will give 1 hint. It is a name of a Disney character. Good Luck!

Darn, I was going to guess Donald. Okay, is it Phillip?

These are so cute, I can't wait to see the final results!

Just in time! Beautiful dress, good luck with your new machine.

The scalloped edge is super cute! I love what you did with the pillowcase!

Thank you!

How funny that he wanted one too. It looks great, but I want to see the two of you together in your matching shirts!

I loooove the outfit Stephanie!!!! Lydia would like to come over and play in that clubhouse too!!!
The other week, I picked Arminda up at school, and what do I see sitting by the road (in the garbage?) a ROCKET!!!!!! Lydia has told us all that she is going to be an astronaut since before she was 2, so this was a BIG DEAL!! So, I threw as much of it in my van as I could, dropped it off at home then went back to get the rest! Lydia was SOOOOOO excited!!! It was FREEEEEZING out that day, but she put on her "space suit" AKA:snowsuit and played in it for at least an hour!!!

Yeah, let's see that rocket! I have a picture in my mind and I want to see if I'm close. I hope you gave your little astronaut some hot chocolate when she ws done blasting off!

Lydia and Arminda are welcome to come over and play anytime!

That is adorable. I saw a top like that in Dillards the other day, but this is much much cuter.

I guess I am a fan of the big face princesses:) I love your Ariel outfit. We are an Ariel loving household. Leanne has always loved Ariel. She was our first princess obsession.

Today has been such a crazy day. My DH woke me up this morning and said Leanne felt warm. I went to take her temp and it was 104 :scared1: She felt like she was on fire.... not warm. Anyway- I took her to the doctor this morning and she has the flu  Yuck!

The tenants moved out of one of our rental properties and they totally trashed the place. My husbands repair list included drywall??? I just do not understand people. They also tore out our entire back yard :confused3 We will have to completely re-sod the yard. They also ruined the brand new wood floors in the kitchen. Then they called and said can you tell us what else we need to do to get our deposit back? :lmao:

Thank you, Megan has always had a thing for Ariel too. I think because she is the most strong-willed princess.

Sorry about the rental property. Funny but scary about your Grandma. She sounds like Ariel too!

She looks so cute, like a pixie. Poor mom!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: THis is so me!!!!!!!! I get obsessed with finishing an outfit, and am oblivious to everything else!!!!! Who cares if there is a pile of laundry, the outfit must be finished! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Well, I am glad I am not the only one with this mentality!

Ha ha! Currently there a pile sitting in the dryer that I need to deal with!

Her hair looks very cute! What a great thing to do. (I think I would cry, too.)

I also found pictures of Arminda in her ballet class! Remember way back on our old board when we were sharing these! Well, now I can too!

Arminda (and all the other girls too) was 5 in these pictures:

As you can see, Arminda is very very short! The teacher actually had to put in another barre so Arminda could reach it!

The studio wasn't quite finished for this first class! But, isn't Arminda a cutie!!!

Unfortunately, there was a great big mirror in the room, so basically, all Arminda ever did was stare at herself!!!!

I don't see any pictures. :confused3

I am not sure who made this but ever since my dd saw it, she has been asking for one. If I remember correctly, the tink on the body is from a pillowcase panel from Kmart? We don't have a Kmart here, and I have looked at about 4 of the different Walmart nearby but the ones they have is different, and she doesn't want that one. Would someone be willing to pick one up for me. I will pay you for it, of course!

th_tinkdress004.jpg

Thanks,
Jenny

I have a Kmart. Let me know if you'd like me to pick one up for you. I have to go get an Ariel one, too.

In case anyone missed the orginal post, I'll make a Valentine Mickey tee for whoever can guess my son's middle name. No right guesses yet, so another clue - It's from a Disney/Pixar movie.

I was going to guess eric, but I'll guess Andy

As many guesses as you want.

It's not: Amos, Andy, Eric, Dale, Donald, Phillip, Sabasian or Lightning McQueen, Christopher, or Robin ;)!!

Here's my latest project. This shirt is for my DH. I'm using the same material for a top for myself. That will have to wait until this weekend though. I also scanned the fabric into my computer so now I can make T-shirt designs for our 3 boys to coordinate with Dh and Mine

ChrisShirt001.jpg

Dh loved this animal print. I had only bought enough for a top for myself, but bought more when he decided that he needed a shirt too. :rotfl:

That turned out great! I love the idea of scanning the fabric to use for an iron on. That's very smart!

I don't think I can really complain about that since I stole it right off of the pages of my mini-boden catalog!

I'll post a better pic. tomorrow so you can see the detail better and I'll try to link to the boden top I copied.

LOVE the guitar outfit! I find myself doing the same thing with all of those catalogs I get in the mail. I'm forever tearing out pages and marking them up for ideas to use in the future.

Here is a new Cinderella outfit that I got of the site I shouldn't mention. My dd fell in love with it!

This is really, really cute!

I am so excited about this!!! I love little money saving tips and this is a great one. It really doesn’t take much to excite me :rotfl:

Leigh is sooo cute :) I love the Valentines outfits. I really like the layered ruffles on the sides. I may have to give that a try.

I guess I am a fan of the big face princesses:) I love your Ariel outfit. We are an Ariel loving household. Leanne has always loved Ariel. She was our first princess obsession.

You did a wonderful job on this. Your DD will be a show stopper at the concert. I also love it with the denim jacket. It really looks great.

WOW! What a day! Hope your DD is feeling better soon! AND, I'm so glad your grandma is ok! Man, she's gutsy! Go Grandma!

I forgot! I wanted to ask you...is it really just as obvious as you're saying (going against everything you learned when you were first sewing) w/the frayed edges? When we were at DL last week, they had these super cute canvas Mickey head bags with the frayed edges and I'm wanting to try...is there anything special you do/use to achieve this look? The guitar is really cool! Nice work!!!!:worship:

I just cut it and left it "raw". The only thing I am worried about are the straight edges like the ruffle on the skirt. They just keep fraying and fraying, but I think over time as I wash it they will kind of knot up and stop. You could just do a straight stitch in as far as you want it to fray and that will stop it. Of course I didn't consider this until I had the ruffle on the skirt!
