This was an outfit I posted before we closed down..

I totally CASEd this from a :wizard: seller...LOL

I responded to this last night, but will again. I love this outfit and think it is even cuter than the "origional" so that makes YOURS an origional now!! Irelands hair will grow back! What don't you like? She looks much older now, but the bangs frame her face nicely.

For those whom asked, I got that animal safarri print at Walmart in the Summer on clearance. I think 2 bucks a yard. It is nice heavy fabric! There is one now that is at Hancocks that has more animals, but in the same color scheme. I would have bought that if I didn't alredy have this. It has lions and zebras and giraffes and maybe gorillas?

Yes, the big giant thread of custom clothing should be back later today.

Perhaps it should be closed and the new thread continued with -- it was a pretty huge thread. What do you all think about that idea?

I don't know, let me think about it.........

I was so far behind on the "mother-thread" but thanks to a couple of little birdies, I've found the way.

I did get to see Heathers pink Cinderella a couple of nights ago and it's beautiful! My niece bought a blue beaded necklace at DTD in NOV that would go with it perfectly. I'll try to find out where. At 1900 PF for dinner, the step-mother asked her if she had taken it from Druzilla.(sp)

CASTLE- I haven't seen a picture of Ireland in a long time. She's really getting big and her hair is adorable. My DD wants bangs too. It makes them look older. We'll see who wins!

Even the doggies are getting customs now!!

Nice to see you posting here! I'm glad you found us again!

Ladies, I have to ask (and I also posted this on the arts and crafts thread) - how difficult is it to applique??? I know that sounds general, but I have a sewing machine, and I love to be creative - this will be probably the last time I'll have to "dress up" dd who will be 7 when we go in May. I'd love to attempt some similar creations, such as appliques and trims on jeans and tshirts, but I don't know where to begin!!!!!

When are you going in May??? It seems like NO ONE is going when we are going!

It depends on what you mean by closed. Do you mean that it will be done away with? Or do you mean that it will be locked so that no new posts can be added? If the latter is the case, will the old post be stickied to the top for future reference? Or will it be in an archive so that we can access easily? Could we add a link to the original "mother thread" to first post of the new thread? If the solution involves in any way deleting the original thread, then I think it's a BAD IDEA!

Honesly, I don't understand how a long thread causes problems for the board. There are millions of thread here. How many are inactive and can be deleted? Is THAT part of the plan? Is there a "time out" feature that automatically deletes threads that have no response after a certain period of time? How much space would that free on the server? I just wonder if there can't be a better solution to the problem than blaming the server issue on very active threeads. Admittedly, I am not involved in any way with the upkeep of a message board. I don't know how it works. I'm just puzzled about this problem.
I'm as confused as you, so I can't help. It really bugs me though!

WWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

That's me mourning our old thread!! I haven't read through this new thread yet, I just wanted to express my sadness. I can't believe all of our silliness has been pushed into oblivioin. Plus, now I have to work my way to the top of the post count again! :rotfl:

I know!!! I also don't like this talk of starting over fresh. If we stay here, I hope it's the same thread as the old one! Just as much silliness and off topic comments and posts. We are also going to need a link to the old thread in the first post.

I haven't been on since yesterday afternoon, so when I logged on and went to my user CP to find the thread, I freaked because it wasn't there! I'm so glad you all didn't go anywhere:)

Castle- I love that minnie outfit! How did you do the little hats?

After I traced the letter I, I just drew a little c shape that kind of looks flattened out, and a little half circle. When I put the two together it looked like her hat. I made it out of solid red material and just painted on the little dots.

I guess I don't like bangs, because I've had them my whole life, and wished I had the patience to grow them out. But never have. Now I have to "do" her hair in the morning... before I could just pull it back. Now I have to "style" her bands, so she doesn't have bed-head in school...:scared1:

I would like the old thread back. Yes it was huge, but it was filled with wonderful outfits, conversation, and lots of our time and energy better spent by doing laundry, was spent there...:rotfl:

I have a question....Yes... Castle has a question...
I made a twirl skirt, out of Minnie dot, blue dot, the whale material, and white. I'm making a sailor top, and I'm wondering if I should just make it sailor-ie, or should I Disney-fy it. I could put a Minnie on the front with a Sailor hat, and the word AHOY with a Mickey head as the O, on the back...
I'm not sure what I should do. I will be listing this one, on you know where, and it seems that more generic outfits, just get lost in the shuffle, where the Disney outfits, stand a better chance of selling. If I did it just in the sailor style, I would put an anchor on the front, and the word ahoy on the back...

Oh well, I was never gonna get caught up over there anyway! I'll just have to look at the photobucket.

Nice to see everyone.

Here's my off topic.

Dh is deciding whether or not to take a job in Iraq for a year! It's safe (as safe as Iraq can be) and a great opportunity. He had basically decided to do it and then at the last minute his fire dept. wouldn't give him the leave that they had already promised him.:headache: It's been a roller coaster around here for months. I don't mind change, but I do hate not knowing what is going to be happening a month from now.

If he does go though, it will be one less person around here to clean up after so I plan on sewing sewing sewing!

I love it!! I didn't know you had a schauzer, too! What's it's name?

I am sad about having to start the new thread. :guilty: I like scrolling back through the other.
It IS so sad! That was our home!

Hello, all. This is so sad. :sad1: I miss our old home.:sad1:

Wow! What a stash!! GREAT deal!

Well, I guess we have to start over trying to up the post count! LOL
Don't you dare try to outpost me! ;)

At least this way we'll get to hear from some lurkers and people who don't post very often when they subscribe to the new thread. There were a few outfits posted yesterday, but I think the last page or two were discussing this new thread. Not sure though - I never got to the end of the old thread. LisaNJ mentioned that we almost made our 1 year anniversary, anyone know when that date was? I know it was in February.
You don't have to post to subscribe, so we could still have lurkers! I'm afraid we'll lose some people when they don't get updates to the old thread.

Sorry , but am I the only one this irritates? I came back this morning to see what you guys thought of my newest creations, and I can't even access the old thread. Couldn't it just be a "sticky"???? Anyway, because I am a shameless wanna be sewer, here they are again

You are NOT the only one it irritates!!

I love your new creations! Tessa has jammies made out of that princess flannel and she also has a AK jumper made with the elephant (and other animals) fabric.

For those of you going to the Phoenix craft show.....hope you enjoy it. I used to go to both shows each year....but in the last two years I have found it less and less enjoyable. There are no bargains to be found, and I just can't stand paying full price for things, I'm such a cheapskate. The crowds were getting out of hand, and rude, so you couldn't even just hang out at the cool booths and watch the demonstrations any more.

When I got the flyer in December about it I realized that I didn't even care that I was going to miss it, and I didn't go to the fall one either, so now it will be an entire year. That's sad.

On the other hand.....it's a great place to get some ideas of what designers are doing.....be sure to take your digital camera and take lots of pictures so that we can all case them, lol.

Doesn't matter to me - I think everything is saved in the photobucket account and the links on the first post. Not sure why we would need the old thread.

The problem with the old thread being completely gone is that the instructions that people so painstakingly took the time to write for us will be gone (correct?). Teresa has a lot of links from the old thread in the bookmarks. If the old thread is erased, those links wouldn't work.

I don't mind starting this thread and locking the old one to new posts, but I certainly don't want all of that information to be gone!! If we can still look at it, that would be fine.

It doesn't sound like they are going to erase us- there are "other" monster threads and I think there would be a coup (sp?) if they took them away:rotfl2:  :sad1: How many posts did we have at our thread- I think it was over 90,000 was anyone paying attention???
I hope our missing sewing friends find us when they get the Mother thread back into view.....

you got it, I am going sunday!!!

I have a link that I would like to share.

http://disboutiquers.proboards106.com/index.cgi

I'd love it if you guys would check it out!

I'm sorry, but I REALLY don't want to start another new board for us! I prefer to stay here on the DIS. Can we just keep it here?

There is allready another board that was started this summer, but I prefer this thread, and don't post there very often. Another board to check just gets too complicated for me!

There is no reason you can't stay here -- and no one is asking you to leave. There were some glitches with really big threads slowing things down and it is being looked into. If the old thread is closed I can either sticky it or make a new thread with the important links.

thank you teresajoy -- we like having you guys here.

I want to keep the old thread and love the idea of the sticky so that we could all still access it whenever we wanted!

DUDE! I found this board at 1:30, and we already have 8 pages of posts!!

LOVE the oufits!

Whaever we decide for the board isfine with me, but I would prefer it to stay on the DIS.

I get webbing on :wizard: a few sellers have a great selection.

Cindee: BEWARE liquidation. I walked out of iquidation a $500 gift card lighter, and a trunk full of fabric and trim heavier. :)

Oh, and look what I got on :wizard: !

I think I'm going to make it into a twirl skirt after it arrives. I have NO IDEA how much is on that roll!! Maybe enough to share...

I agree with Teresa, I don't really want a new board either. I don't think there will be any issues with this board, I mean even if we could never see the other, I think we would all be okay. It would be sad, but all (or atleast most) outfits are in the photobucket and Teresa has the links for us.

I like the dis.

But I forgot to add, thanks revrob for quick thinking and good computer skills. I just hate having to click on each and every thing, i like the flow here of all in one.
