Okey Dokie, Im not doing the whole multi quote thing but do want to comment.:cutie:

Jham, Looks like you have a GREAT time, thanks for posting the photos. Where did you get your dd's red shoes with the dots? I love them. How much were they? I also love the material with the Mickey, circles, flowers, and maybe paisleys that you oldest DD was wearing ridiing the horse, where did you get it and how long ago?
Thanks, we did have a good trip. The shoes are puddle jumpers. You can get them at puddlejumpers.com for around $30. I got mine from sweetsoles.com for 40% off at their Thanksgiving sale. I got the mickey purple flowery fabric at Hancocks in late November/early December. Right around the same time that they got the Little Einsteins fabric in. I love that fabric, still need to make something else with it for DD2.

I love the Cinderella dress, I have yet to try a princess dress. Well at least he liked his jacket, lol. Boys are so hard to make customs for, especially when they get older. Less is more I suppose. I love the crocs with socks!

The minnie outfits are great! I love that style skirt and I like that you can use just a little minnie dot and it still is definitely minnie. Hope that made sense!

Thanks! I like those skirts because with a Minnie shirt they are Minnie skirts, but they can still wear them to church and not look too Minnie.

Now Tessa's saying she's going to marry him. So, he's moved from boyfriend to fiance in 1 post. :rotfl:

Crocs, crocs everywhere! I am one of the last holdouts on crocs. I hate the way they make my feet look and when I tried on Teresa's, I didn't like the way my feet "sloshed" around. I'm thinking I might try the Mary Janes. I have some sketchers flip-flops that are made out of the same kind of stuff and they are WONDERFULLY comfortable- like walking on air!

LOL! I think they're ugly on men, but not so bad on women and children! But, it's all about the comfort!

It's a good thing Tessa is outgoing, on this trip Luke decided he was suddenly going to be VERY shy around princesses! They do make a cute couple though! I like my Mary Jane crocs. They do not feel so obvious. For my "regular" style crocs I bought the khaki color so they don't stand out too much either. Well, less than most colors :rotfl: I have to say my feet and legs never ached the whole trip!

I actually have sewed on my sewing machine! :lmao: I haven't made anything. I'm playing with the stitches and making sure I know where everything is. I am currently searching online to see if I can find a users manual for the machine. It was one mom bought at a yard sale many years ago. She wanted to buy me a new one yesterday and I told her not unless I start sewing. If I start sewing regularly, I'll take her up on that. In the mean time, I'm hoping I can find a user manual online. I was able to find one online for mom for her knitting machine that she got second hand.

The machine is a National Sewing Machine Co. model B400. Of course, the National Sewing Machine Co. looks like it went out of business years ago so it hasn't been easy to find anything about this particular machine.

I'm so excited, my first outfit to share on the new thread!! After much debating, i finally decided on my first ever twirl skirt for dinner at The Crystal Palcace! I love the way it turned out! I'll be making more of this type of skirt!! It is made from a storybook kit from Joann's.

th_IMG_2970.jpg
th_IMG_2971.jpg
Awesome idea and great job on the skirt!!! :thumbsup2 You know, last week when I was at my Joann's from H - E - double hockey sticks, I saw these story books and stood there debating if I should pay full price for a couple of these. I was thinking of using a "page" as an applique for the top. It never occured to me to continue them around in a circle for a twirl skirt! What a great idea....is it ok if I CAB it? :cutie:

"Drive by" post:surfweb:

I decided to check out the "new" thread and could not resist posting this pic (I made it before I "dropped out" but DD did not get to wear until recently;)

th_AKstripe.jpg
What do you mean you "dropped out"? You can't leave us!

I love this custom! Hehehehe its funny how Jimminy is playing with her hair! :rotfl:

I've seen the Hannah Montana satin but I haven't seen the Hannah flannel. DD saw the HM satin and wants an outfit with that. So I guess that is my next project.

Here is DD's Mardi Gras dress and hat.
th_CIMG0513.jpg

DD with the crown.
th_CIMG0514.jpg

The applique on the top of the dress. This is my first ever actual applique. I did the detail on the face myself. I wouldn't have done it without the motivation of you people. Thanks.
th_CIMG0516.jpg
Great job and I love all of the colors and details!

here are the kids Halloween costumes my Mother made... my son is really in character, very funny.

Great job on the costumes!!! Your son is hilarious with his serious face! :scared1: :rotfl: And I love you daughter's dress too!

Oh man you must be soooo excited!!!!

Quite a few! I won't be sleeping this week because I'll be sewing in the middle of the night. I've got school (those pesky jobs get in the way), school (grad. classes - what am I thinking), C&C shows, and packing to do!
I wanted to show a couple of things I've been working on. This is Mayme's AK outfit:
th_IMG_1869.jpg

th_IMG_1872.jpg

and this is the Ariel top I've worked on today. I love the way it looks, but Ariel is very stiff. I used wonder under to attach her to white, appliqued, and then wonder undered that to the blue fabric. Any ideas of what I can do to make it not so stiff? This may just be a play shirt.

th_IMG_1878.jpg

th_IMG_1876.jpg
I love your DD's name! Great job on the customs! I have to say I love the "fuzzy looking" fabric or at least it looks that way. It really makes the twirl top pop!!! Was it hard to work with??

I made an applique top too. Mine is slightly stiff as well and I only had one layer. That was a good idea to do the white backing...I will have to remember that!:thumbsup2 They can out wonderfully!

BTW, I have Mary Jane Crocs and they are my favorite shoes EVER!! I too thought the crocs were ugly but had heard how comfy they were and thought the MJ's weren't "too bad" but they're so comfy I started taking my good shoes w/ me and changing into them at the office and wearing my crocs under my desk until I had to leave my desk for some reason. I'm a closet croc junky!! they have added a few girlier shoes to the line since then that I am looking forward to getting. My kids love them too. Mac has Sketcher's version of the beach shoe and Lily had a cool tie died pink and purple pair from payless but she lost one at Epcot the first day she wore them:sad2:

...t.

JHAM - I love the outfits!

Camping griswalds: I'm heading over to see your PTR. I need to get some of my outfits sewn up so I can post pics to my PTR. :)

I know I missed a bunch of people. Sorry. :( Too many posts to catch up on!

keep em coming!!

I'm posting a quick sneak peek at the custom Gracie is going to wear to the Princess Tea party in March.

DSC_1725_2.jpg

The colors are actually lighter & brighter. She will wear this over a light pink pettiskirt.

Here we are at the PPP, now let me explain some of the footwear options :rotfl: DD10 insisted she needed nothing other than crocs and her feet would be fine, do not pack her any other shoes! So of course she got blisters at the airport, I had to buy her some socks at Disneyworld and she wore lovely socks and crocs for the first half of the vacation. DD2 is wearing Minnie pants and shoes under her Cinderella dress because she wore her minnie outfit the first part of the day. I brought all the pirate and princess stuff to change into and we stored it in a locker, then after dinner at Ohana, we went back to MK and changed. I forgot the leggings and shoes that go with the Cinderella outfit, so she had to be half Minnie and half Cinderella (got a few comments on that).

IMG_0489_edited-1.jpg

The next day was epcot. Lily wore her Nemo jumper and gauchos and the big kids wore appliqued mickey head/Nemo fabric shirts. Lily got THE MOST attention in this outfit! It was pretty much constant attention. By the end of the vacation, she would automatically smile and wave at everyone she saw as if she were in a parade. Instead of saying "thank you" when she receives a compliment, she nods her head and says "uh-huh!" No modesty there

IMG_0570_edited-1.jpg

Dinner at Garden Grill, Seth would rarely remove his jacket, even when it was hot! :headache:

Jayden in her Mickey/Minnie peasant top (at WCC which is why she is riding the stick pony)

Ha ha about the shoes! All your kids are so cute! I am really enjoying the pictures and remembering your making the outfits.

Okay, I'm having major computer problems, but hopefully I can get this to go through before it crashes again! Here are some pictures from our trip:

Here is Lily in her Valentine's jumper and bows I made at the last minute for the plane trip. This in at our layover in Atlanta after a long plane ride (hence the hairdo). I woke and dressed her at 4am so this is the first time she realizes she is in a pretty new dress!

th_IMG_0183_edited-1.jpg

Here is Lily on our first day in the MK. I bought the dress (long story, should be in my TR if I manage to write one). There was only one style of Cinderella dress in the entire park and at first I HATED it! But when I saw it on, I liked it. She loved it and that's what matters. I had to use this photo of her on the slide at Pooh bear's playground because I love it.

th_IMG_0280.jpg

And not to be left out, here is Jayden in her Belle dress at the BBB (which we loved! Even DH refused to take the boys out to walk around because he wanted to watch!)

th_IMG_0263_edited-1.jpg

Okay, better post this batch before my internet crashes again, more photos on the way!
Lilly and Jayden looks absolutely radiant in their princess/valentine dresses...gorgeous. You had to have gotten non-stop compliments!

Here we are back at MK and lo and behold, Minnie's house (scheduled to be closed) was open after all! so I was able to get the required photo and can stay in the club!
th_IMG_0410_edited-1.jpg

Mickey loved the boys' shirts! He kept poking the Mickey heads.

th_IMG_0427_edited-1.jpg

th_IMG_0412.jpg
Yaaaaaa it was open! Great "required" pic! Thats funny about Mickey poking the mickey's on the shirt! Thats a terrific family shot!

Well...I don't have...to sell it...if someone happens to offer me a free Disney cruise, then she will have a chance to wear it...LOL
Seriously.....why doesn't Disney give away a free vacation to people on the Dis??? It could be a drawing for all registrants over like 50 posts or something...I personally think this is a great idea :cool1: :rotfl:

Love this picture of Seth (in his iron-on sweatshirt) at WL perched on a totem pole

th_IMG_0837.jpg

Breakfast at Chef Mickey's--I can't believe it was only YESTERDAY! I made the skirt (and added ribbon to the socks) the sweatshirt is from Wal-Mart!

th_IMG_0852_edited-1.jpg

Both girls had matching shirts but Lily's was covered up by her sweatshirt

th_IMG_0855_edited-1.jpg
Ohhhhhh love the casual princess and your DS is so cute by the totem pole! I love the details of the Chef Mickey custom...cute socks too!

So do most people/children wear crocs???

I've seen them, though we only have the basic pairs here -I've never seen girlyfied ones - all are the same clog shape, I thought they looked strange. So are they actually comfy??

DH has some knock offs that his dad gave him when they were boating, and I just can't see the appeal (sorry) maybe I need to find out more lol ;)
I wouldnt put them on for the first year I saw them since they were clearly the ugliest things around. Then one day I tried a knock off and they were great. Well before our trip last year, I ordered the girls and I all REAL matching pink crocs. Well, its the only shoes we wore for the next 6 months. I did manage to get the girls in some white sandals in the summer occasionally. So then school started back up in September. Here were my feet after putting real shoes back on:  :headache: :scared1: :scared:

I almost forgot Animal Kingdom! And a funny story that goes with it. All 4 of my kids had black t-shirts with various animal print appliqued Mickey heads, the girls had bows so I guess theirs were Minnie heads :lmao: We spent the day at AK then had dinner at Boma at AKL. After dinner we were browsing around the AKL gift shop and this couple (probably in their 50's) cry out "there they are!" and run up to us. They seem so happy to see us :confused3 The woman blurts out "where did you get those shirts? I have looked in every gift shop and have asked everyone and no one knows what I am talking about!" (they saw us earlier in the park)
I said "oh, I made them" and both of their faces just fell. It was funny but sad. They really wanted those shirts! In hindsight I should've sold them the ones off my kids backs (just kidding) but it was the end of the day for us. Hmmm...
Awwwwwww that is so sad and funny all at once! Note to self: make two of everything and sell the extra's each day! :rotfl:

More gorgeousness! :cheer2: Love the fabrics and appliqued shirts!

Personally I think they are rather ugly on women, not so much on men and frankly cute on children. That being said, I own several pair and love them! I have wide feet and I hate wearing shoes at all so in summer I mainly wear crocs and in winter I mainly wear Uggs (also ugly). They have a crocs store in the Orlando airport (was in it just yesterday). They sell lots of different styles including some very girlified ones that look nothing like my big beloved ones. I love the mary jane ones on my DDs and they come in colors to match every princess dress out there!

When I move to Florida in 9 years and 89 days, I am only wearing crocs year-round. I love the new winter ones with a fuzzy lining! Too bad they are $40 each....I am a shoe cheapy. :headache:

Thank you for sharing these great pictures and your customs! Please see the first post for the "NO APOLOGIZING" rule! ;) Did you make this Aurora dress? It's so cute!

*****

I wish I could say I made it but I bought it from an online costume co. Ran out of sewing time - I didn't find you guys until just before our trip!

This is what I did yesterday. It is size 3t but I tried it on Megan just to see how the mickey head looked. I can't believe I put it too high. I guess I didn't judge how much room the casing for the neck elastic would take. Does it look bad? The bottom is not finished because I ran out of minnie dot and I am getting some more to put a ruffle on. Be honest!

100_2196.jpg

100_2198.jpg

What if you put the elastice through the top casing instead of the casing you planned for? That might would smooth out the rippling. Just an idea.

My littlest dd (20 months) is sitting in my lap 'helping' me look at all the great pics & when she saw this one she pointed & said Lellella, which would be Cinderella in baby. :lmao:

You have some cute outfits & some even cuter kids.

Your son and daughter look great!!! Such beautiful children!

Ok...7 days to go and how many outfits to make?? Quite a few! I won't be sleeping this week because I'll be sewing in the middle of the night. I've got school (those pesky jobs get in the way), school (grad. classes - what am I thinking), C&C shows, and packing to do!

I love the family picture with Mickey too!!! Thanks for sharing!

So do most people/children wear crocs???

DH has some knock offs that his dad gave him when they were boating, and I just can't see the appeal (sorry) maybe I need to find out more lol ;)

Knock offs don't cut it. They are NOT the same and just aren't as comfy. Except for Brian, we all have a pair, and love them. Lydia has Mary Janes and Corey has the flip flops. Arminda and I have the regular ones, but I am considering getting us Mary Janes too. Does someone have a close up picture of how Mary Janes look on an adult? It looked like Jham's looked good from what I could see! I couldn't STAND putting my tennishoes back on this winter. The Crocs had me spoiled!

Ok, I'm going to ask once again. WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL THREAD? It was stated that it would be back in 24 hours. It has been well over 48 hours. The thread has not been reposted. Where is it?

Yesterday morning I requested that a MOD respond. I even reported my own post that contained the question to a MOD. No one has resonded to me. Not even "forget it, it's not coming back."

When is it coming back? Is it coming back? Could you please just respond to the questions? Anything.
Woops, I'm sorry, I see that Cindee allready posted this!
The last I read was that they are going to see how things work on Monday, then they will start putting the old threads back up, but broke up into smaller threads. (I didn't quite understand that part!) So, I guess it won't be until at least Tuesday before they get the old one up. Then, I guess I will be busy going through the bookmarks to see if they still work!

Cute! And your first ever appliqué looks great! And I did not notice the tree at all. You will find that I am not as nosy as some of the other people around here. :snooty:
Oh yeah!?! Right back at yah! :snooty:

I just had to post this little funny -

So Elizabeth, DN (5) comes into Sunday School today wearing a nice skirt and a pretty sweater - looking nice. Well, the minute her mom dropped her off, she whipps off the pretty sweater, and guess what she was wearing underneath? Her Mickey Mouse Icon Tshirt with the princesses on it!!!! It totally cracked me up, and I think her mom would have had a cow if she saw how she looked without the sweater on! I guess you just never can tell what kids will do!!! :lmao: :lmao: I just love being with the 4-6 year olds Sunday school, you just never know what they will say or do!!!

Here she is at the table and then in the group shot (of course we took pictures today)
100_0386.jpg
100_0398.jpg

and here she was a few weeks ago at EPCOT - same shirt!!
100_0270.jpg

Ok, I know this is going to sound bad but I am finally getting around to uploading some pics to show you guys our THANKSGIVING trip!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We had SUCH a great time - it was our first famliy trip with our daughter to Disney.

Had early reservations so had whole Main Street to herself...love the skipping to the castle! She was SO amazed to see the "REAL" everything!
Wow love your customs and you all look like you had a blast!!!

The Mary Jane style with Mickey Head holes instead of the plain round holes. The only problem with the Mickey Head shaped holes is that the jibbitz fall out.

Good idea!!! :goodvibes

:snooty: Really is wasn't my fault. Jacob was the strangest, most well-behaved baby in the world. I just didn't realize it then. When I took Megan in for her checkup at 18 mos., I asked if she could be autistic because she wouldn't let me brush her teeth and hair and I had to physically hold her down with my knee to get the car seat buckled. He laughed at me and said she is a toddler, look out! I really didn't know if both of us were going to make it out alive for those 3 years!
Hahahahaha thats too funny! I remember taking my first child to the doctor sure he had a virus and diareah....nope the doc said....thats just normal baby poop~ Sorry TMI! :confused3

This is what I did yesterday. It is size 3t but I tried it on Megan just to see how the mickey head looked. I can't believe I put it too high. :thumbsup2 I like it where it is...it looks fine. But if you are really concerned, perhaps you could add something underneath like her name or something so it looks more centered from top to bottom???? :confused3

I did a pre trip report of all of my daughters outfits. Please take a peek. I don't know if this will work, so if not, it's under the Trip Reports Thread, then under the sub heading of pre-trips. The title is, "Mommy and Me "Do Disney" all by ourselves."

Goofy face, and horrible hair, but the excitement of us leaving in 3 days is so contagious! She keeps switching from Snow White, to Cinderella, to Mulan, to Tinkerbelle, to Ariel.
Ohhhhh I love trippies...I will be over tonight! ;)

I just wanted to post that this is my 500th post!! I'd like to thank all my disboutique friends for helping me get to this very important milestone in my life! ;)

On another exciting note, we're getting a new dog today!! It's been a little over a year since my sweet 16 year old dog, Tomia, died. Here's a link to her story on my website: http://www.geocities.com/heaths32/tomia.html
!
Congratulations (double-sized)... on your 500th post and your new family member...how exciting!!! :cool1:

I was at a second hand store that my friend suggested. Usually I can't stand them, and stay far away, because of the smell. Long story...but I hate that musty moldy attic smell....ick
Anyhow I found something that doesn't fit my dd but had to have...
