after thursday I will have matching stripwork valentines day dresses to share with you. My twins are wearing them to school for their party.

I think it's just way more fun to sew for little girls than for anybody! My 10 year old dd lets me sew for her, but she wants it to look just like something she could by from Limited Too. Why spend the $$$ and time sewing when I could just go buy it??? I mean I know why, because it makes her feel special, so that just makes me feel crummy that I don't enjoy it as much as making my dd6 clothes.

I don't think I've had a guilt free day since I gave birth to my first child!
That is so true . I at least got his pattern cut out but i also have been having Hot Flashes all Da*M Day i hate it ..

Better?

Oh my goodness, I just LOVE this picture!!!! Can't you just see this image on a CD cover?? What a little cutie!!!

I am two days back so you might already have a good idea for this...but you could have her wear a leotard thing and make a cute twirl skirt to go over it that she could easily remove for the gymnastics part of the party.

Aww thank you for the wonderful idea. My DD keeps changing her mind on what she wants me to make her. I have some princess fabric I was going to make a twirl skirt out of but now she says she wants pants?? LOL :confused3

hehehe I am still up there after being absent for 48 hours. I have had a tough day.... so I may have to go to bed soon! I will fill all of you in later

Okay, I've commandeered DHs computer and I'm starting to put my photos on it. Here are photos of Lily in her Minnie skirt. As you can see she loves it!

Here are her Ariel jeans I made with the big Joanns applique and some various fabrics and pillowcases I have to make some sort of top. I've since cut out an a-line top but it is too big for her. I still have no great Ariel top. I think we need a peasant top maybe.

And here is her cupcake skirt. I made it to match a cute sweater she has. She will probably wear it to church on Sunday so I will get photos with a model then. It looks cuter with the matching sweater and t-shirt and tights...

And just because I found this photo and couldn't believe it, this is Lily when she was 2 days old. I know she was teeny and skinny when she was born, but I forgot how teeny she was!

Very cute! That cupcake skirt is going to be very, very cute with the gymbo sweater! (I'm guessing that's the one?)

:rotfl: thanks! That's the one! I took it to the fabric store with me way back when, so it matches very well.

jham ~ That was all sweet, but the cupcake skirt is my favorite! Even when I am buying my girls clothes I am thinking of what I could make to go with it! I love when they have something that no-one else does. That is the main reason I quit the Gymboree crazyness. It's all cute, but what's the point when 6 other little girls are all wearing the exact same thing?

Isn't it amazing how teeny they look when they are born! My girls were 8-10 and 9-14 when they were born and I remember how big they seemed next to the other newborns, but when I look at the pictures now they seem so fragile!

Shameless post just to pass Heather on the list. I'm sure it will never happen again! I know, I need to go do something productive, like go to bed :rotfl: or go read the new book Sugarbees just gave me for my birthday!

what a wee small precious angel

I have a question about making a sailor suit....what do you use for the contrasting fabric for the strips (about 1/2" wide) on the collar - do you cut a piece of fabric and fold it to the size that you want, and sew close to the edges or do you use something like ribbons/bias tape? Can't you tell I am just clueless? Thanks!!!!

thanks spongiemommie for the info!

i just finished reading your tr up until today, and it's great!

and i love the cupcake and minnie skirts!
