HI TOM...I just wanted to let you know that I dropped your items in the mail...Sorry it took so long. Hopefully you will get them in time...

Chipp & Dale's girlfriends name is Clarice.
Thank you! I found a small picture of her online and she'd make a cute applique. Now I just need to find a bigger picture!

OK, I didn't like this pattern when I first saw it, but now that I have seen this skirt, I need it! It's too cute:)

Also, I already asked this question a few pages back, and I think it got overlooked, but how do you taper the stitches on an applique? I just don't know if there is an easier way than the way I figured.

I didn't see your question, sorry! I wasn't able to taper the ends of my appliques when I had an older machine. But, now that I have an electronic model, I just put it on zig-zag and gradually decrease the stitch length until I get to .5 at the end of the tapered end. You just have to practice on some scraps until you figure out how many stitches to do at each width to get the taper you want.

That looks like the stuff! I did a search on Joann's a while back and didn't find it! I also haven't found it in the store (I asked, but they are VERY unhelpful), either! Good find!

Here is the Mulan dress I have been working on.

Cindee, it's beautiful! Is your DD wearing it tomorrow or for another trip?

I'm happy to say that we're ready for Chinese New Year, the house is better but still not complete but we're still working today. :)

DD and I had taken a toddler class last year on Celebrations Around the World, I actually have a copy of the same book so we've been reading it. I was surprised that DD became so interested in Chinese New Year but she's embraced the cleaning even so I'm not going to fight it.

I didn't make anything for her to wear, I found a little Qi-Pao dress (it's an infant size) and it works for DD as a top and not a dress (she wears a 3T) so she's got little leggings and a long sleeve tee to go under that coordinate with the dress.

I'll have a couple of pictures I hope by the end of the day. I am almost finished with DD's Dora dress for a pair of birthday parties this weekend and her Valentine's dress isn't far behind. Then I can finally start working on customs for her surprise birthday trip. I've got 3 months and 26 days until our trip.

Now I'm going to go finish that Dora top and find the card reader since DH still hasn't looked at my computer yet to fix the issue of the card reader in the all in one printer not working, but at least 5 of the 6 trash bags rendered themselves visible again and made it to the dumpster. :rotfl:

WOW you really have been busy!!
I love the bows on the sleeves- And I think a red bow on the mickey would be good too- Like someone said it would tie them together
Here is what I made DD last night.

Sorry she was disappointed :sad2: Maybe she will come around to liking it though:)
Patchwork twirl w/ Disney Princess fabric that I made but I didn't make the Cinderella shirt though.

You really made a lot of outfits- they are all really cute!! The ones you that you didn't make you picked out so that counts too- ;)

Since everyone on here is so chatty I had quite a few pages to get caught up on! I love everything I've seen. You guys are some busy ladies!

Love the Chip and Dale skirt Heather!

I don't remember who made the Minnie dot dress for a friend but how cool did you feel when the other mother's looked for a tag! I would have been so impressed with myself!

Have a great day, I've got a ton of laundry to catch up on!

Jham- And how did that make you feel??? :cloud9: Did you tell them you made it??
I had to check one more time before I go to bed and the DIS was back up- maybe we'll get a slice of our old thread back today!?!?! :confused3

My friend, the birthday girl's mom proudly announced "she made it!" Yes, I felt great. :cloud9:

Here is my youngest daughter's Minnie Dot outfit for Chef Mickeys.

I also found these purple shorts at WM. I decided to make a coordinating shirt. Older DD will have pink once the 6-7 shirts come in. They are for the diaper bag.

I also finished the Fantasmic outfit. I am conflicted about the Mickey. Do you think I should add a red bow. I am going to do red, white and blue jewels and bows that can double for the 4th of July.

Even your "diaper bag" outfits are fantastic! I think the Fantasmic outfit looks great with or without a red bow.

I have lots of random princess fabric I've been wondering what to do with

Sorry I didn't answer you the first time, but it looks like Heather did. I usually do my applique at a stitch width of 3, then to taper I switch it to 2.5 for a few stitches, then to 2.0 for a few stitches, etc. etc. till it ends in a point.

A frankenpattern is where you use different parts of different patterns. The bodice is from a sundress pattern. I wanted sleeves on the shirt so I used the sleeves from a different pattern and the pants are capris that I lengthened into pants and they came from a seperate pattern. Like Frankenstien's monster was made from different parts well so is this outfit.

OK, Thanks for the clarification! Very creative!

I have a few questions/comments...

1. Has anyone been to Disney on Ice - Princess Wishes....good/worth the $$/opinions please/outfit ideas?!?!.

2. Someone mentioned that they'd like some of the other Epcot fabric - I'm assuming that means the red one with the flags...I have about 2 yds if anyone is interested?

3. Is there a pattern out there for the cute "Fantasmic" skirt (for lack of a better name?)

We took dd to see the Hannah Montana movie last Sat and here are some pics. She had a blast and is having a Hannah Montana birthday party in two weeks

That is funny you said that! I was just on ticketmaster pricing out tickets for Princess Wishes. We will probably be going March 15th so I won't know until then!

Love the skirt! It looks like she had as much fun as we did! And I too hope you are better Teresa. We haven't seen pics of your kids in so long, we miss them!

The JoJo and the Anastasia- Very cute!!
We will wait patiently for the other outfit-:surfweb: popcorn::

I ran across this foot last night while looking for attachments to my sewing machine. http://www.allbrands.com/products/abp03546-0664.html It's a side cutter overlock attachment so that I can use my sewing machine like a serger. I can't see spending the money on a serger just so that I can finish seams off nice. Just wondered if anyone had anything like this. And I found this. :) http://www.allbrands.com/products/abp06735-0664.html :woohoo: Now where is my tax return???? :lmao:
I want the ruffler also and I want a foot that rolls the hem. That's the best price I have seen on the ruffler.

Since I couldn't get on the boards last night I snooped around in the bookmarks. :) I found this tute for gathering with clear elastic. http://www.indietutes.blogspot.com/2007/07/gathering-with-clear-elastic.html I've never seen such a thing! Where do you find clear elastic? It looks like it would take the tedious work out of hand gathering my ruffles.

I read that tute and got all excited to find some clear elastic, too. Now it's about 5 months later and I've yet to see any clear elastic! If anyone knows where to find it, I'd be interested, too!
You can find clear elastic in the jewelry section. It is used so that it gives a necklace stretch but is also not seen.

Where do you all find the hair clippies- I must be blind because I have looked at Michaels, Joann, and Walmart and could not find them. I know they must have them but WHERE???
