Orlando weather throughout the year.

it has been abnormally cold this year,
When we were there the 1/31-2/8, the local news said it was the coldest temps they had experienced in over 10 years. So, I think this is true.

That said, even in the midst of that, 3 of the days we were there had a high around 70 or 71, sunny, and not a cloud in the sky. Absolutely gorgeous. Dare I say, days that felt like San Diego weather.

San Diego. I have no idea where we are going to go when we stop working so much. We both like the desert. 🤷
Harder on you already, living in paradise of San Diego county. (Grew up in Fallbrook as “home base”). Work career was all desert life where golfers will know…La Quinta. (Now retired just north of San Diego county in the Temecula Valley area, which is pretty good living for weather).

Love the thinking re: AP - now that we have them, I rationalize we never really have an excuse 😎 Have you ever been to F&G? It was my first time that same trip and wow - so beautiful (and dare I say the food was just as good as W&D if not better!)
I haven't been to a Flower and Garden festival, yet. We'll just miss it this year, but will probably see some things being set up. At this point in life, I seem to be most interested in atmosphere vs. rides. The videos I've seen make me wish I lived locally so I could visit frequently during the season.

Hi Neighbor! I'm pretty sure we're priced out of Temecula area for retirement. What a great area to retire, though. 😃

We have had visits in every month. We were locked into the summer for many years due to school commitments, but we have somewhat more flexibility now. Retirement can do that! The summers have gotten much too hot….or most probably, I just don’t tolerate them as well as I once did. 😉

Our best weather has been in late April and early May. There was a pretty warm spell in early May a few years back, but it’s been pretty “reliable” for us. We like October and November too. We’ve experienced some humidity then, but it’s not summer-like.

Our last January trip (2020) was overcast and chilly, but not a deal breaker by any means. February has worked well for us on the few times we’ve visited then.

Any month can have its challenges of course. I would personally try to avoid summer, but not everyone can do that….and we’ll be there in June with our grandchildren (we’re now into school commitments for the next generation!) so never say never. 😊

I'm up in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. It's generally cold from December through March here. Snow that fell in January is still on the ground here in late February. This is our time to escape to WDW.

This year we went in December. The first week was lovely, 75 degree days. The second week wasn't bad, 65 degree days. In past December trips, we've experienced days where it was was a high of 50, and a day where the high was 85.

In many years we go in late January or early February. Generally, high temps are in the low 70's. Coming from a colder climate, we're in the heated pool with the folks from Canada, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Maine, and comparing the weather at home with the lovely Florida weather we're experiencing.

We've gone in March for Flower and Garden, and found the temperatures to be in the mid to high 70's. Also a lovely time to go.

We made the mistake of going in September once. It was over 90 with 90% humidity. We couldn't take it. Our day began at rope drop and we left the park at lunch time to avoid the heat. We came back to the parks after the sun was down and the pavements cooled off.

In the winter, you can pick out the Floridians from the folks from the north very easily. The Floridians are wearing parkas and the northerners are wearing T shirts and shorts, in 60 degree weather.

It seems there is a downside to almost every month of the year!

Weather-wise, our favourite month is April. However, it can be tricky to plan around spring break crowds! We have found May to be hot but tolerable and probably our second choice for a travel month.

We were there in October 2025 and there were a few days that were too cold to swim, and we were also very anxiously watching the hurricane forecast. That made me quite hesitant to book during hurricane season moving forward as we cannot reschedule easily.

We have been in June, July, August and September and each time swore we would never do it again from the heat!

We have been in December and February and had days where we as Canadians were wearing our winter coats. A cold day at Disney is definitely better than a day at home, but we generally try to avoid the possibility of cold snaps as our kids' #1 request is pool time.

We love November, March, and April. We were hot 1 day in April and 1 day in November once but otherwise had really good weather. Sometimes November is sweater weather especially at night, but we've always had a few days we could swim. We did mid-May once and while it was fine, it was a bit hotter than I wanted for the parks but perfect for the pool.

My ‘expectations’ of Orlando weather - NO, YES, UNICORNS

Jun, Jul, Aug, Sept - No thanks, don’t wanna spend WDW type of money to be a sticky mess seeking refuge.
————
Dec, Jan, Feb - Prepare for cold mornings and chilly evenings; higher odds of trip being mostly cool and dreary than mostly warm and gently sunny; might get a pool day or two, maybe not.
Mar - Good chance it’s pleasant most of the trip, though the hi/lo can be all over the place.
May - Go early in the month. Yes likely hot, but humidity season hasn’t taken hold yet.

————
Oct - Go late in the month. Comes in hot and cranky and miraculously ends up perfect.
Nov, April - Gorgeous!

We’ve done over 20 trips the past decade and I agree with this:

We’ve had really good weather for most or all of the trip during those ‘best time’ bands, and never had a string of bad or not great days fill most of the trip.

A few of our winter trips were chilly and overcast for days on end with drizzles or rain. Not a hard roll of the dice.

I’ve never done June/July. Our Aug trip was relentless heat/humidity and rained on and off the whole time. Can count on one hand the hours the sun peaked through partly clouded skies. Rest of the time was shades of grey. Yes we hit a bad run but outside of summer when is it possible to hit 6 straight days of 85-90f and rain. We tried Sept one year and was a tad better, not quite as hot/humid and just a few passing showers, but grey or overcast entire time. What saved the Sept trip was low crowds. The Aug trip was extra miserable because it was still busy and never ending ride closures for rain.

My primary annual trip is late February/early March. There are only three temperatures that matter:

Warm: everyone is willing to swim.
Cold: No one is willing to swim.
Kid-Warm: self-explanatory.

Most days have Warm afternoons. Some days ae Kid-Warm. Cold was rare, though it turns out that might be becuase both of my kids loved the water. Cold and wet is very rare.
