I have a question for you....when you make your strips for the skirt is the top of your strips narrower than the bottom? If so what measurements do you use? TIA

I make mine wedge shaped rather than rectangles. What I did was use the markings on my cardboard cutting board (the kind that's about $15 and folds out to about the size of a twin size mattress). It has a section with curved lines that make up a wedge of a circle. I decide the approximate size I want for the top of the wedge and start there to make the wedge the desired length. For these, the bottom width of the wedge is about three times that of the top. I like doing wedges because it allows for a lot more twirl at the bottom without having a lot of gathered fabric where it attaches to the bodice. I've created a few wedge "templates" to use so I use fabric as efficiently as possible. Here's an example of how they'd be layed out on a length of fabric. Of course, it doesn't work out as well with fabric that has an obvious direction to the print.

Thank you soo much for this! I am going to do this next time!

Has anyone seen a Snow White pillowcase? I checked KMart and they didn't have one. They could've been out. They were out of Aurora and Cinderella. Maybe WalMart or Khols?

Thanks,
Chantell

Not as cool as the things you all make, but I'm just starting. . .

Here are some small pillows to give with the shopping cart covers, to help prop up baby, or whatever. . .

These are for my SIL and I. . . we both have the same first initial

and during Christmas break I started calling everyone of my in-laws family by number of addition - FIL is 1, MIL 1, BIL 3, BIL 4, DH 5, Me 6, SIL 7. . . . more to be added later ;) SO, on the shirts for us I put our numbers. . .

Not so perfect, but I will be buying embroidery thread in the future, and hopefully that helps! (this was all-purpose thread):

And here are somethings I am giving to my friends that just had babies (both named their baby with an I name (Isabella (or Izzy) and Idalia).

that is gorgeous...
Stephanie Meyer wrote a series of young adult books about a vampire family. It sounds really weird when you say it is about vampires but it is very well written. http://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Coll...r_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1202182092&sr=1-10
It is very popular with many teens and some adults too.
i think it is more popular with the mom's of the world ...

Well, we went to the Hannah Montana Concert Movie tonight and the kids loved it -- so did I! There was only about 50 people max in the movie with us so we got a great seat and the kids were able to do whatever they wanted!

Before the movie!

After the movie.

I figured all the kids would be more into it but I guess not. I saw one little girl way up at the back dancing once but that was it. Through the first half of the movie we just kind of sang to ourselves and clapped but when she did the change to Miley, Parker started performing. She would sit in her seat and start banging on the armrests like she was playing the drums. After the "moving bug" bit her she couldn't resist it anymore, she had to get down and dance, then Michael joined. When Miley had on the black pettiskirt, Parker yelled "mommy, she has a twirly dress just like me" and just started spinning and spinning! We all had a great time -- definitely worth the $15.00 tickets!

I did a lettuce edge on the pants, but I am still debating on adding something else to the bottoms......... maybe some type of butterfly , IDK, what do you guys think?

This is the first one.

This is the shirt.

This is the second one.

This is a shirt and pants set. The pants are plain.

The printed fabric I used is a really pretty cordurouy.

Wow! This thread moves so fast!! I am gone for just a few hours and I have soooo much to catch up on.

I wanted to share some of the boutique/customs my girls wore to Disney last week. None were made by me. Lori (taylor*tot*designs) made quite a few for them!

Brooke, the girls look absolutely adorable. I love the pictures. Have I mentioned lately how big Cameron looks! My goodness, she is def starting to look like a little girl. She is not a baby anymore.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR to my dh!!!!

I have been cleaning out my house, and craft area. I listed a BUNCH and I Mean like 19 auctions on ebay. He had shipped out about half of those for me. WELL.....instead of using the paypal print shipping label from work, since then our printer wasn't working right. He DID NOT!!! The man bought STAMPS.. yes I said STAMPS~! and put stamps on ALL the packages.

Needless to say, since he did not weigh these and just guessed and loaded them up with lovely (Disney) stamps, 6 packages were RETURNED to me today! I have been warding off questions "where is my stuff" and I kept asking for the shipping recipt and he couldn't find them. Well no wonder why!

SOOOO Now, after much wasted time, and MUCH wasted stamps. I have to double up on shipping costs because my husband didn't do it right the first time! We got the printer working the other day, so I can print my labels thankfully!

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo UPSET with him! His response??
"oooh, I thought it would be easier, and I just guessed on the weight, I was wrong" DURRRR

Vent over!

That def sounds like something my hubby would do! UGH!

I LOVE this skirt. I am going to file that pattern away in my future to do list. Your DD is adorable by the way.

I want the skulls one forsure. which ones would you go with to match the best? Or does anyone know of any other online fabric shop with Valentines fabric. We dont have much around here with a good selection.

Does anyone know where to find Lilo & Stitch fabric? or even fabric like Lilo wears? Georgia would LOVE Lilo outfit, but I can't find hardly anything. and I am not to fond of the little tiny ones they have on ebay.

I glanced at this and thought it said "I'm ADOPTABLE" and I thought-"but we have already adopted Teresajoy" :lmao:

 :rotfl: :rotfl2: and Awww, you are sweet!
thanks everyone, you guys are soo caring and sweet! I just wanted to say thank you to whomever suggested this pattern to me, was it you revrob? I am sorry I can't remember, but I can't go back and look it up!:headache: Anyway, I love how this skirt looks, but it was SO HARD to put together and I still don't know if I did it exactly right, anyway here it is in all its glory!:rotfl:

I think it's REALLY cute! I think a butterfly at the bottom would make it a perfect coordinate.

Your DD is about the same age as mine and I've been sitting here for about two days with that same fabric trying to figure out should I do a skirt or a top. Because of their age you can't always to really cutesy things you would do for the younger kids - my other DD is 5.
DD8 sees ideas and says make that, but it isn't appropriate for her. I love the pink HM fabric and I got some purple fabric with silver stars. I was going to do a top like that with the purple fabric on the top.
