awwwww what a cutie!!! How come New Jersey isn't on your list?! You've got NY and PA...Jersey isn't that far of a stretch! It's the GARDEN state! come on!!!

;)

I think it is so wonderful that you work so hard on behalf of these dogs! Good Karma girlfriend!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I hope Blakely finds a home!!! I can't believe nobody in his "family" wanted him!

We DO adopt to NJ- I skipped alot of states!!

About the scars, Luke has one on one side of his lower lip. It makes that part of his lip a little puffy. I think it is pretty cute myself. I keep saying one day all the girls are going to want to be kissing that scar! :scared1: You can kind of see it in this picture, it looks a little swollen on the lower left side but it's not. Not the best photo but one that was in photobucket. (but it's at Castaway Cay to be almost on-topic  )

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Seriously...Lily gets me every time! She is just too precious for words!!! AND she's wearing Ladybugs! My FAVORITE bug!!!

darling outfit!! Darling daughter!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks! I guess if I had to have a favorite bug it would be the ladybug :rotfl:

Very easy to make - I just made them like giant pillowcases so that I can take them off after each trip and wash them. I don't put them in the dryer.

So they are open on one end or do they fold over more like a pillow sham? and how did you take your measurements? Can you tell I'm scared?

There have been so many wonderful outfits and so many of you look like you had WONDERFUL trips. I am jealous of all of you!! Still trying to catch up but you'll be onto a new thread before I do probably. We are trying to get online at home since soon I will be going to school ***FULL TIME-NO WORKING AT THE SUCKY JOB CAUSE I AM NOT GOING BACK!!!****

I am recovering from my surgery though I am surprised at how sore my foot still is (2.5 weeks later) it was just about a 3/4" cut. I am planning on starting to sew Little's WDW outfits since we now have a date of OCT 17-24th @ the Marriott's Grand Vista Villas. ( I need to add it to my Siggy) But I am afraid she'll either have some HUGE growth spurt or just not grow at all. She is in a 2T now (She'll be 3 in July:sad2: ) I started this Elephant stripwork before Christmas (cut it all out) and started to sew it together last weekend and it is too short, even if I make it a top (which is how I make most of her stuff-just shy of knee length to wear w/ pants or shorts) it will need an under layer. I don't want that to happen again. Plus I have to narrow down the outfit options. Picking is the hardest thing to do. I have been hording some of the booak minnie dot to make her an outfit BUT really want to do JHAM's cinderella zuma outfit(which I am still taking creative credit for;) ) for MK cause I think we'll do CRT but then...should I have a fancier dress for that? Wanting to do something NEW for AK this year, but can't decide on what(made an animal/dot stripwork last year) Have Friends around the world fabric (all of them, I think) for Epcot- though it's tough not to do a nemo outfit, and she is totally inlove w/ I can't remember who's little einsteins outfit.
In a SURPRISE turn of events Big Brother said "Mom, can you sew something for me?" WOW, my soon to be 10 yo wants me to SEW FOR HIM!!!! I think he mostly wants to help. Great, I may be calling Steph to get some applique help I need to see someone do this! Sounds like I'm going to have a lot o applique-ing to do.

I am resolving myself to get at least one outfit done by monday, disney related or not. Will post pictures mon.

I need to get a few of Carla's patterns and the zuma pattern...hmmm I have MOST of my fabrics (thinking of getting a story book to make the story book panel skirt)
OH and I have to make her an ariel outfit for her Mermaid (NOT lil' mermaid) birthday. Hoping to get a weeki wachee mermaid to the house for the party, I know a few-lucky me, just don't know if they can get out of the park w/ their tails!

Glad to here from you! Hope the foot gets better soon. Can't wait to see what you whip up for Little! I am planning on a trip in September but I haven't started sewing yet. Too scared that I am going to chicken out and say I can't do it with the new one's arrival but I SO WANT TO GO! Get busy on your outfits so I can CASE them!

Here is the other skirt that I finished for Parker to wear to school this morning for her teddy bear picnic.

Before school:

After school (orange juice drops all over the top and no hair bow)

Better pic of the monkey on the shirt (the shirt is Gymboree):

And here is Gigi the bear in her matching skirt:
Monkey4.jpg

She was mad this morning b/c the bear had a skirt and not shorts. I finally convinced her that the bear was a girl and not a boy. I think the bear probably needs a shirt or something. I'm not going to make it a peasant blouse b/c I don't even like making those for Parker. I'm thinking a little bikini looking top -- what do y'all think?

Another drama to add;

My son's elementary school is very small (less than 200 kids) so is very family oriented, I belong to the PTA (low in funds) and I was asked to sew some dresses (5 ) for 1 prek, 3 kinderg, 1 fifth grader ;these kid' s parents are not able to dress them for the promotional ceremonies in June (parents already asked for the help) I was given 30.00 for supplies. The good news is that I approached the owner at the fabric store that I always go to and he will be donating most of the fabric, (cotton) nothing fancy but free. He will give me pink or white solid and the thread....

Now I need help deciding what styles. I am thinking not a lot of ruffles (to make it easier and faster for me) but...WHAT STYLES WILL LOOK BETTER? (I would like to keep it simple) I was thinking for the prek to make the halter dress that I made with lace and tulle to make it fancier, the others I have no Idea specially the fifth grader.

Ideas PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I think a basic pillowcase halter dress would be cute for the fifth grader unless she's pretty developed. Are you allowed to do skirts?

For the kindergarteners a sleeveless sundress would be nice.

That is really cute, and love the matching skirt for the bear too!

Today we hit the zoo for a preschool field trip. The girls had a great time and really enjoyed their "zoo dresses." We even saw a baby elephant named Samson. He was so cute!

I love these dresses! I am looking for zoo fabric right now for outfits for my little ones but I need something that will work for both boy and girl. I like them to match when possible. I just haven't found the right fabric yet. We can't go to the zoo until the kids have outfits. :rolleyes1

First let me say that these are some very pretty dresses. Second the dress that the little one wearing is it the Belle Ellyse Pinafore pattern with sleeves added? Cause if it is that is too cool that you did that because i was wondering if it could be done.

Noah has one on his eyebrow (assalt from a toybox :rotfl: ) and I totally think it adds character to his face - but with Emma - it feels different - LOL - not for me, but I know how I analized every one of my facial features when I was a teen. I am hoping it doesn't bother her.

You're right of course, it is different for girls than boys.

C-U-T-E CUTE CUTE CUTE! I love the outfit too. ;)

I love it! I know my dh would say that it look ridiculous too! Once I put ruffles on a pair of dd's old jeans, he told me that it was too big - so I had to take them off and re do them.

Men! What do they know!

In a SURPRISE turn of events Big Brother said "Mom, can you sew something for me?" WOW, my soon to be 10 yo wants me to SEW FOR HIM!!!! I think he mostly wants to help. Hey T! Glad you are doing better, stinks about the pain! I would be happy to help you applique, mickey heads are my specialty (and by specialty, I mean just about the only thing I can applique!).

Oh my, are they cute! I love the picture of them dancing. I really like Sophee's dress, it is adorable.

Cute little monkey! I love the after picture too, looks just like Megan. I would take a tube and sew elastic thread in the top and tack ribbons and tie and you're done. I made a top like that for Megan and it took minutes.

Here is what I made today, completely my own idea (ha!). I did the more modest halter top from CarlaC with elastic thread in the back instead of one piece of elastic and I like the way it fits, although I liked the other one too. I can't tell much of a difference (maybe I did the old one, lol).

I don't like it though. :sad2: It doesn't seem like it matches the pettiskirt at all. I should have picked a solid color for the ruffle, I think the stripes are too distracting. I don't know if I should start again and chuck it or what. I am a little depressed, I thought she could wear it to the princess lunch on her birthday and now I have to start over.

If you can do skirts, this is the easiest skirt I have made for my 5th grader. I'm sure you could just wing it but I think Teresa put my instructions in her bookmarks.

IMG_0121-1.jpg

it looks cute with a t-shirt or peasant top--you could make it with the solid pink and the peasant top the same, and do the border out of a print and the peasant top sleeves to match the border, then it would kinda look like a dress. :confused3 or as someone mentioned, you could do the pillowcase/halter style and make it longer as a dress. She would probably need a tshirt under it though. (ignore the squinty face)

I love it. I am weird about matching so I understand your pain. I CASEd Elisa's crown applique idea to go w/Lily's petti. I'll take a photo for you in a few. Mine was simple (in theory anyway, the crown I chose to applique was a bit tricky)

very cute. We love monkeys around here! And I think my favorite thing is making a skirt to match a store-bought shirt!

I like your halter. I think it came out great! I agree with you though, that it doesn't seem to go. I didn't think mine went with the pettiskirt either..LOL. but I guess the problem is more that the fabrics are different. It's hard combining cotton with a dressier fabric. I would make her a little twirl skirt to go with the halter and maybe make something else. You seem to whip them out faster than all of us...I'm struggling to just get a skirt done. I have a cold and don't like sewing when I'm sick...or doing much else:laughing:

Thanks for all the compliments on the zoo dresses. They were fun. The fabric was from a local quilt shop. I wish I bought more but I didn't. :( Anyway . . . the babes dress is a Simplicity pattern 3511. I loved it. It goes from size 1/2-4. Can't beat a 99 cent pattern.

Steph- I really like the top you made. If you are not happy with the pettiskirt you could just make a skirt to match your top. :) I also bought the Disney petti and paired it with a plain white tank. If you really want to do it again I would do a white halter or tank and applique a crown. Let the skirt be fancy and the applique match one of the designs from the skirt. I put fancy bows and bling on my DD to dress up the top. I think I will make her a top to wear with the petti but she just wanted to wear it then! LOL

here are the photos of Lily's pettiskirt top. It is just a tank top from Old Navy with a crown applique. I used my Aurora crown from my cricut and just traced it onto my heat 'n' bond. It was a little tricky to applique for a novice like me :confused3 Then I glued some bling on with E6000--my first ever experience with E6000--I loved it! I just hope the washing machine does too! :lmao: Some day I'll have a photo with a model. I used the sparkly pink fabric from Joanns for the crown and it matched really well (especially after all that ironing with the heat 'n' bond).

IMG_0235-1.jpg

And here are my ribbon shorts. Lily had nothing to match this t-shirt so I had to make something. I haven't tried them on her yet.
