Glad y'all are ok!! One Christmas Eve my grandmother's dishwasher caught fire... fire, lights, sirens, firefighters and I slept through it all next door at my Mom's house.

Truthfully appliances catching on fire is one of my biggest fears... we have friends who lost their house and dog when their dryer caught fire. When we had our new washer and dryer installed last year the installiation guy said we were lucky our dryer hadn't caught fire yet :scared1: and the dryer was only 5 years old and wasn't even the reason we replaced the set (we upgraded to HE machines)

My Mother taught me to always turn off the dishwasher, washer and dryer when you go out. I've always stuck to that.

I finished a few more things. We are meeting some online friends when we get to Orlando. I made these for her kiddos-

Please ignore the yucky carpet. I hate this apartment and hope to be out next year.

Lastly- I tried to semi-CASE LisaZoe (if that is even possible!!) and used 2cutekids idea with the pillowcase. here are the results-

I wanted to do more detail by hand on the face, but I ran out of time- and I don't think that it would have been appreciated. This was for my friend's little girl's 6th bday. They loved it, but really have no idea what is involved with it.

I LOVE everyone of these. I'm only going away a week you guys keep coming up with ideas for more outfits! I'd have to go for a month to get all these fun things in!. Well, not that it would be hardship.

Just had to stop by to wish everyone a

Happy Mother's Day!!!:flower1: :flower1: :flower1:

I worked Friday night and last night, was supposed to work tonight, but some very kind PRN girl is working for me! So I have my first Mother's Day off in 5 years! I'm so excited - Cheesecake Factory tonight for dinner!

Hope everyone is having a GREAT day!

Hi Everyone,

GREAT creations lately!!! I love them all!!!

I have a question - when you lengthen th top of the portrait pesant pattern to make it a top, how long do you usually lengthen it? I think Elizabeth would love a little mermaid face top with a twirly skirt - but she doesnt live with me and I cant seem to get her mom to remember to measure her - I think she is a size 7 in the pattern - average build - almost 6 year old girlie - she may be similar in size to Megan,,,,,,would anyone be willing to make a guess at how many inches longer for me? also, do you widen it at all to go over hips, or is it wide enough anyway???? thanks!!
wendy

can y'all do me a favor? can you post your favorite boutique disigns for a january trip? for 9 yo, 7 yo and 2 yo? I need to start planning my sewing strategies. :thumbsup2

my 9yo is in the plus sizes for girls and in the tween stage and my 7yo is extremely tall, so neither of them fit in the 6x/7 range, Bella is ok with dresses as long as she has pants to wear under neath/ or footless tights. She's not the girly girl, but the tween one is more glittery cool fun pink but neither are frilly. Do you think it will be 'cool' to make them a princessy something or other for BBB? I'm assuming they'll want to do the hannah montanah thing though, but we also want to do the princess tea party. What about the fouffy skirts? I have a black/hot pink (9), brown/lt pink(7) on order, should I have them wear those or are they going to be way out of place?

Gabby should be fairly easy since she'll love what ever

who knew that clothing at WDW would be so hard

PS 9/7 the ages they will be when we go just to clarify

These are all so cute. I love the LisaZoe CASE. It turned out so cute.

Thank you so much! I was looking for the classic (with the anchor). All I could come up with was http://community.livejournal.com/egl/10887844.html .It's very small, but I figured with enough patience and muslin I could measure Kaitlyn's head and make it work.

The other style's cute as well. It seems easy to make - a heavily-interfaced band that's about 1.5" wide and a circle gathered and stitched to it.

Thanks!

Deb
That girl has some interesting peircings. :lmao:

Happy mother's day all:cheer2: :cheer2: I just wanted to let you know what kind of effect y'all are having on me. What did I say when asked what I wanted for mother's day FABRIC!!!!
That's what I want too and the same for my birthday. :lmao:

Well its a balmy 60 and overcast...practically had frostbite eating Mother's Day lunch outside on the deck of our favorite restaurant. Tell me again .... how nice is it in FL right now????? But I wanted to say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: Enjoy your day! I will be sewing of course! Yaaaaa! :woohoo:

Happy Mother's Day!!! For everyone!!!:flower3:

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day. I get to fight a nice cold that sprung up on me last night.

My kids woke me up this morning to my mother's day presents, they joked about all the make up in my face, I thought nothing about it , (told them mommie has a natural beauty:confused3 ) checked my emails, did my round of dis, only when my husband came to bring me breakfast that he asked me what was wrong that I checked in the mirrow and notice all the hives all over my body from the tip of my head to my feet ; is not itchy just red all over, I spoke to my mother and she told me that is the fabric, they have some kind of chemicals that some people are allergic to it, also tinka_belle also mentioned possible allergies,

has anything like this happened to any of you?I only worked with one fabric yesterday and it was prewashed, I am concern because I have a lot of sewing to complete

this is how my skin looks now

I have been a Boutique stalker for a while,
but after seeing super cute crayon pouches that kstgelais4 made,
I wanted to share the apron I made for DD's 2nd b-day last year.

I completely faked my way through it,
but I probably never would have dusted off my sewing machine if it wasn't for the DIS.
So thanks to everyone for the inspiration!

and Happy Mother's Day!

And just for you in the words of Dory :fish:Just Keep sewing sewing sewing!! Now it's stuck in your head isn't it.

WELCOME to the Disboutique!!!

I guess it's how allergies affect you. I would think since you were working with prewashed fabric, that wasn't it. It doesn't bother my skin, but I have to be careful walking into some fabric stores, and even those small boutiques stores. I can smell the dye in the fabrics and it makes me sneeze, eyes water and I get dizzy. Again, since it's on your back, I wouldn't think it was fabric unless it touched your skin. I'm not a nurse, but it could be an internal allergy.

Your apron is awesome! Kirsta DOES NOT need one of these!!!

So who wants to make us some customs for out trip in October? Is there a list of sellers somewhere in this thread? Thanks!!

Can someone please tell me the best and most reasonable online fabric stores? My Joann's is pathetic and that's the only fabric store really closeby.

I want to see pictures when you get them done! A tutorial even! So far I have only cut stuff then traced it onto my heat 'n' bond (like the ladybug on this shirt. I made this outfit today for my 19 mo. old neice BTW)

th_IMG_0203-1.jpg

Love it! I wanted to see the back. I think I will eventually have to get this pattern!

And here is Lily in her Disney petti. I got it when it was 40% off so I think it was like $14.50 or something. SOOO worth it! She LOVES it. Did not want to take it off. Then she wore it out in the sandbox

th_IMG_0210-1-1.jpg

Love the ladybug outfit! Very cute! I have got to get one of those pettis for my girls, they would love it. Good luck getting the sand out of it though! :rotfl2: :scared1:

Everyone's outfits are so cute this week! I hope everyone at WDW & Disneyland this week are having a great time!

I finally have enough posts and figured out how to log back in so I can post pictures of some of the sets we have worn to Disneyland. We live in SO Cal and have annual passports, so we go to Disneyland a lot! My model is my granddaughter, Kadie, who is 4 and LOVES to go to disneyland!!

This was her 4th birthday in front of Ariel's Grotto, her favorite place to go!

Wow, your outfits are beautiful Sue! Please share more!

OH and PS...guess what happened to us tonight...

about 1am...we're all snoozing...Sally and Teddy and sleeping away...Jay is OUT...suddenly I sit up in bed with my little bunny rabbit sniffle nose going b/c I can smell SMOKE! And it's hurting my lungs and making me cough!

So I jump out of bed and check on the kids, both sound asleep...but the smoke smell is so strong...but the alarms aren't going off.

I have to SHAKE Jay to wake him up.

We check all over, can't find the source but it's strong. So we called the Fire Department...non emergency number of course...not 911.

They tell us to get everyone OUT. So we wake up the munchkins and put them in Jays SUV...along with the dog.

A police officer::cop: arrives, walks in and says "It smells like a CANDLE...do you have a CANDLE burning..."

I wanted to slap him. Seriously. Do you honestly think we wouldn't have y'know...figured that one out for ourselves?

AND I have strep throat AND a fever so I'm NOT very patient right now.

Police officer tells us that the fire chief:firefight will be along shortly...

Next thing you know FIVE fire trucks pull up in front of our house...lights going, sirens screaming...about 30 fire fighters:firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight ...no joke...all suited up HEAD TO TOE come streaming OUT of the trucks.

I'm a little freaked out...cuz the smoke is thick in the house.

Turns out our dishwasher caught ON FIRE and was burning the bottom of the counter. But it was a weensy fire.

good GRACIOUS.

the thirty young firefighters who were SO amped to put out some fire and save some damsels in distress were pretty bummed.

So NOW...we have to buy a new dishwasher.

Our neighbors hate us.

Sally can't fall asleep.

and the smoke made my throat hurt worse AND I'm having a wheezy asthma attack and had to use my wheezer IN FRONT of people which I HATE to do.

not a good night for the Campbellscots.

:headache:

okay...it's 2:15 am...must try and sleep.

night loveys!!!:goodvibes

Oh, gosh, I'm so glad you are all right! Thankfully your nose was working! I would love a new dishwasher, I'm just looking for an excuse to get one but I don't want it to catch on fire! Hopefully you're all doing well today!

Happy Mother's Day!! I love everything that I have seen lately...but sorry that I am not quoting everyone individually. I had my gallbladder taken out on Wednesday, so not much sewing going on around here.

campbellscott - I am so glad that everyone is OK! Have fun shopping for a new dishwasher!

Hope everyone have a great mother's day!!

I broke out in hives a few weeks ago, and it looked exactly like what you posted only mine was extremely itchy. I am thinking it is something that I ate, although not exactly what. I took lots of luke warm bath with about 1 cup of baking soda and that really help. Also taking Zyrtec helps if you itch. Hope you feel better soon.
