Please ignore the yucky carpet. I hate this apartment and hope to be out next year.

Lastly- I tried to semi-CASE LisaZoe (if that is even possible!!) and used 2cutekids idea with the pillowcase. here are the results-

I wanted to do more detail by hand on the face, but I ran out of time- and I don't think that it would have been appreciated. This was for my friend's little girl's 6th bday. They loved it, but really have no idea what is involved with it.

Wow, these are fantastic! You have a very lucky friend!

Happy Mother's Day!! I love everything that I have seen lately...but sorry that I am not quoting everyone individually. I had my gallbladder taken out on Wednesday, so not much sewing going on around here.

campbellscott - I am so glad that everyone is OK! Have fun shopping for a new dishwasher!

Hope everyone have a great mother's day!!

Hope you're recovering well!

I broke out in hives a few weeks ago, and it looked exactly like what you posted only mine was extremely itchy. I am thinking it is something that I ate, although not exactly what. I took lots of luke warm bath with about 1 cup of baking soda and that really help. Also taking Zyrtec helps if you itch. Hope you feel better soon.

Jenny

I found out the hard way that I am allergic to pomegranates. I drank the juice and broke out head to toe in hives that itched. Very Itchy! I agree with whoever else said that since it was on your back it might be something you ate, not came into contact with. Good luck, zyrtec did work for me for relieving the itches.

ms mekenna- Im sorry I missed your post asking about the dolphin fabric. I picked it up at a quilt shop, I can see if theres a SKU # or company name if you are really interested let me know and Ill see if I can find the scraps to see if theres some left with the info

Happy Mother's Day to all!

I have been a Boutique stalker for a while,
but after seeing super cute crayon pouches that kstgelais4 made,
I wanted to share the apron I made for DD's 2nd b-day last year.

I completely faked my way through it,
but I probably never would have dusted off my sewing machine if it wasn't for the DIS.
So thanks to everyone for the inspiration!

and Happy Mother's Day!

Oh how cute!!

took 5 hours to make!

Hope my friend likes it !!

That turned out great! And I LOVE that fabric!

can y'all do me a favor? can you post your favorite boutique disigns for a january trip? for 9 yo, 7 yo and 2 yo? I need to start planning my sewing strategies. :thumbsup2

my 9yo is in the plus sizes for girls and in the tween stage and my 7yo is extremely tall, so neither of them fit in the 6x/7 range, Bella is ok with dresses as long as she has pants to wear under neath/ or footless tights. She's not the girly girl, but the tween one is more glittery cool fun pink but neither are frilly. Do you think it will be 'cool' to make them a princessy something or other for BBB? I'm assuming they'll want to do the hannah montanah thing though, but we also want to do the princess tea party. What about the fouffy skirts? I have a black/hot pink (9), brown/lt pink(7) on order, should I have them wear those or are they going to be way out of place?

Gabby should be fairly easy since she'll love what ever

who knew that clothing at WDW would be so hard

PS 9/7 the ages they will be when we go just to clarify

You can check out my TR (link is in my siggie) to see the customs I made my kids for our January trip. My girls were (still are) 10 and 2. I still have quite a bit to go, I need to get updating that thing!

That is adorable!

Happy Mother's Day everyone! My computer has been down and I've been doing yardwork so I got behind and haven't done much sewing this weekend either. :scared1:

They all look wonderful! You did a fantastic job! I love both skirts and that tigger fabric is just too cute for words.

for me! So I have my first Mother's Day off in 5 years! I'm so excited - Cheesecake Factory tonight for dinner!

Lori! -Did you go to the one on the Plaza? That's where we went to celebrate Mother's day w/ my in laws! It was crazy busy at 5:30-6pm but delicious!

has anything like this happened to any of you?I only worked with one fabric yesterday and it was prewashed, I am concern because I have a lot of sewing to complete

Two questions - did you recently switch laundry detergent and was the fabric prewashed by you? My husband discovered he was allergic to Era after 1.5 years of hives similar to that. Just a possibility?

That's some nice faking! It's absolutely darling, I love it!

I almost forgot - Happy Mother's Day Everyone! Hope it was a good one!

YAY I'm all caught up (well on this thread anyway - will find the other one to drool over shortly :) )

Everything looks fantastic :)

I've been almost completely computerless (well internetless) for what seems like forever (I'm sure it's only a couple of weeks) but things are working better although it's super slow :(

Heather and Teresa I hope you have all had a fantastic holiday - can't wait for the trip report (I haven't missed it have I??)

We have now set a date for our holiday :) 15 October 09 we will be departing for the US :cool1: Now to figure out how to do those countdown ticker thingys - 17months :D

I've been collecting all my fabrics waiting to start sewing stuff for the trip - I've been told 6 months out so we'll see (I'm super slow lol). ATM I'm sewing some merino wool tops and pants to keep the girls warm over winter and some handbags (because they are quick and easy and super satisfying )

Keep the good work coming ladies :)

Whew...got all caught up - didn't get much of a chance to get online this weekend. Everyone's projects look great!!

I  the black and white one and the yellow one! They are all absolutely adorable but those two are my favorites. Nice work! And that painting sure must have been a labor of love! It's awesome! I soooo wouldn't have the patience.

Thank you!! The painting wasn't too bad, although it did take a while. I ended up having to do three coats of the blue for some reason (instead of two). The clouds actually go up really fast though. I am really glad we did it and just love it!!

I'm so excited for you!! Having a little girl. I'm so on the baby fence right now. Oddly enough I've been reading a lot about "Unassisted Birth"...no midwives, no intervention from ANYONE...just me. Is it weird that I am comforted by that thought? My mom said,

"Well I did it...natural birth...it wasn't THAT bad and I just prayed and sang church hymns..." That's my mommy!
I wondered if you two would ever have more kids. I don't know about totally unassisted, but I just plan on having my husband in the hospital and really trying to not use drugs. We'll see how that goes - although my mom had both my brother and me without drugs!!

Hey ladies. i was going to sew but then sickness struck again! I have been sick working with a fever for nearly two weeks now. Finally my boss said go home and don't come back until the fever is gone! YIKES!! That doesn't work well with the paycheck. But this weekend was a higher fever. the rest was just low grade. Its lower, but only because the tylenol is helping with that. Thank gosh. He even made me take my temp at work then sent me on my way. hahaha

I didn't get t sew Georgia's Elvis skirt because of this dang sickness keeping me down. I guess I should be resting still, but I HATE to rest!

Hopefully this week I will get some sewing time in. I just got some Mickey Fabric in the mail the other day.

Yikes! Hope you are feeling better.:flower3: I was feverish for a week and kept working. TMI alert:

Turns out I had a UTI and pneumonia! :scared1: You did go to the doctor already about it right???? Don't worry about the sewing...it won't go anywhere....just rest and recoup!

OK so when do the sisters return from Disney????? :confused3 Not that I want to rush their vacay but I do remember something it going on for 10 - 14 days or something. Does anyone know their return date???

Finally got my pics uploaded. I finished the portrait peasant dress and the simply sweet dress, plus a crayon organizer. Poor DD has been sick so she doesn't look to happy in the pics...

I LOVE these! I love the pooh with the peasant dress, and the crayone roll is great. I really need to make one of these!

Hi Everyone,

GREAT creations lately!!! I love them all!!!

I have a question - when you lengthen th top of the portrait pesant pattern to make it a top, how long do you usually lengthen it? I think Elizabeth would love a little mermaid face top with a twirly skirt - but she doesnt live with me and I cant seem to get her mom to remember to measure her - I think she is a size 7 in the pattern - average build - almost 6 year old girlie - she may be similar in size to Megan,,,,,,would anyone be willing to make a guess at how many inches longer for me? also, do you widen it at all to go over hips, or is it wide enough anyway???? thanks!!
wendy

Hey! What I do is lengthen it with Carla's a-line pattern, but you could draw it or use any a-line pattern. The first one I lengthened I went straight down, and didn't like the way it looked at all.

100_2213.jpg

With the a-line, it doesn't seem so tight around the hips. I attach the a-line just under the sleeves and go down 17 1/2 inches. Megan is very long-waisted and wears a 7/8 in top just so it doesn't ride up. I like the peasant tops to skim her hips.

I hope this helps! PM me if you need more. :)

I think Teresa was telling me her kids are missing 10 days of school, so I don't think they get back until the weekend. I miss them too!

Got a question for all of you making the peasant top patttern...I need one for my DD9...she likes the top, but she wears a 10/12...is there a pattern for that size? It looks simple...again not a real pattern girl...so I think I could go with it?

Oh! I hope everybody had a great Mother's Day! :goodvibes Mine went well. My best present was my DH cleaning the entire house...including polishing the hardwoods and doing all of the laundry that was left from Friday and Saturday!:lovestruc Nice day off for Mom!:cool1:

I met one of the sister's yesterday!!!!

Got a quick chance to meet Heather, Tessa, (a sleeping Sawyer) and her DH... we were walking around MGM (DHS now) and I saw the Bell Dress that Heather had made from the Pooh Toille - and had to stop her! We were on our way from Light's Motors Action to the New Toy Story ride (it was in passholder preview yesterday)! She was super sweet and she's got the pictures to prove it!
