LOVE the shamrock and ladybugs. Cute frog halteralls.

Okay, I haven't been on in a while, and I definatally haven't had any time to sew. Im still trying to whipp up something with the nemo book panel I won here.

Since were all family, im going to share some personal obstacles were trying to conqure with my oldest DD.

She is 8. We adopted her at 13 months. Diagnosed as ADHD, high anxiety, Bi-polar, and many underline small things such as sensory, fine gross motor, vistibular, propreoceptive delays, Learning disabled, .... ( god I love her ). Anyway for the last month or so she has thought worms have invaded her body. She thinks they are in her hair, she is litarally pulling her hair out. She has them on her skin and scratches and often scrubbs too hard in the shower. Due to anxiety ab out the "worms" she broke out in hives on both arms and the trunk of her body (front and back), she is trying not to go number 2 because her boo boo has worms in it, and she is scared. She is biting her fingers/nails down till they blead to help the worms out. She also has scratched one of her wrist to a big bloody scab. We have been to the psychologist twice a week, psychiatrist every other week, and we go to a peer group once a week when we have been peeking in on the nurse. We also have visited the family doctor (of course). Her meds were increased 1 1/2 percent. She was percribed a lotion for the hives. We have to change bed sheets every night just so she feels comfortable enough to sleep because she thinks the worms are in her sheets. I put some shampoo in a cough syrup bottle and she thinks it's magic worm killing shampoo. I spray water on the sheets because it's magic spray to kill the worms. We switched to all free and dove white. We also had to go to a plain white dryer sheet. (till the hives are gone). I have been so busy. But the good news, today she told me that the worms havent been around as much. :thumbsup2 What a relief!

Thanks for letting me share. I've been so frusterated, and the time change messes us all up and threw us for a loop. We'll get it together...hopefully soon.
Wow that is stressful. I know from experience that it is also stressful to your DD. I went through the same thing as a child, but my parents weren't like you. They told me I was crazy so I had to keep it to myself. I still get the feeling that I have worms under my skin, but I guess because I had to deal with it by myself as a child it doesn't bother me now. to you and your DD.

Thank you and I totally agree on you with the ycmt patterns! I have found that the 6 month size seems to fit her really well! I used the 6m size for the simply sweet pattern and it fits really well! I did use the 12m size on the aline, just because it fits snugger than the other patterns! I am trying to decide whether or not to buy that romper pattern!:confused3 I am afraid my dh is going to put a lock down on me because I have bought 3 patterns in the past few days!:scared1: Oh well, maybe I can sneak in another one!;)
I have bought 4 of the YCMT patterns in the last week. I'm contemplating buying another one, but I think that I should wait awhile. :rotfl:

All of the outfits that have been posted are too cute. I absolutely love the froggy fabric. I saw the same fabric at Hancock's but didn't buy it. I might need some of that.

I got the fabric at Waldemort for $2 a yard. They have a BUNCH! I really like it.

I really like that frog fabric, too! Awhile back they had the green dot coordinate fabric in the remnants bin for like .50 or something. It was only 2in short of a yard so I bought it! Now I need to get the frog fabric to match!

I just realized something! I AM A DIS VETERAN!!!   When did that happen?:confused3 Not sure, but YAY!!!!!!!!

I made the fully lined, reversible version of the Butterick 5019 pattern (altered)

Now, here's where y'all can help me. I want to do something crazy and fun at the hem like hand-washable pom pom fringe. What do you think? I ran out of the darker print to do her pants with so I need to go back to HL soon!!

So far the bottom hem is just overcast stitched so it wont unravel. I'm thinking FUN trim because this is not from my "Everyday Collection". I love it so much I don't want her to wipe her boogers on it or get any food on it. WHY am I like this? :sad2: I'll have to think of a great occasion for which she can wear it!

I want this dress pattern!! I have seen it several times on here. Which one is it? PLEASE! :flower3:

I LOVE this dress pattern. LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out, love the fabrics, love everything about it. I wouldn't put pompoms on it though. What about a super wide ric rac? Or a pleated 1" ruffle?

Wendy - It's beautiful! You should invite Misty and her daughter over for tea (by tea, I mean diet pepsi) and have her wear it then.

She poses beautifully!! That is very pretty fabric. Great Job!!
Oh and I love your chocolate bunny smiley- too funny!! :rotfl:
Tinalala- Your dd will be the most beautiful Belle at the ball!!

gallafamily- Your little dd is so precious- we like frogs here too- All the outfits are really great!!

Megan wanted me to tell you she thought you and the ladies did a great job on the bags!

Cute! I hope the Diego outfits go quick!

Very cute: I love that Nemo fabric! Megan looked at your pictures and asked where is all her thread. I told her it was all organized, not scattered around the dining room table like mine!

Steph - I love the preppy plaid sets!! I'm looking for a plaid like that - hopefully they'll have it again this year. You could do matching tees (or polos) for your guys. Just put a small Mickey head on the chest. I made 2 for DH for, 1 for AK and 1 for dinner on the cruise. He wore them happily. I wish I had made him more to wear!

Thanks: maybe I'll try that. Why are men (and boys) so difficult?

I hate the cutting fabric part! It always takes me forever! If I just counted the sewing time, minus ironing, seam ripping, threading the bobbin, etc... every pattern would probably be a 1 hour pattern! :rotfl:

It's too bad they put so much pressure on little kids to do well on the standardized tests! Poor Jacob!

Yes, all the little stuff slows me down big time. I will be almost done sewing on a ruffle and realize that bobbin thread ran out half the skirt ago!

So cute! Great job!

Oooh yes, I know that feeling. I made myself a skirt once that wasn't all flow and lovely, so when I went to put it on, I was like um did I gain weight??? hahahaha Lesson learned. I love drawstring!

GOOD LUCK for testing Jacob!!

Thanks! I like the drawstring too.

I love them! I like that they are the same fabric but not exactly matching. The girls will look so cute! I have the exact same trouble with the underdress. I usually make the jumper too short and then the underdress too long so it looks weird.

Arminda always get so worried when they do these tests here too. It's so much pressure for little kids! Last year one of the teachers told the kids that if they didn't do good on the test that some of the teachers would lose their jobs!!!:scared1: I told Arminda that if the teacher lost her job, it wasn't Arminda's fault! I was SOO mad about that! Arminda is the kind of child who takes everything to heart, so she thought it was up to her to saver the teachers jobs! GRRRRRRRRRRR

Ramble away! The teacher told the kids if they were late they had to sit in the office until it was over and take it on the make up day so Jacob has been freaking out about being late! He wanted me to drive him to make sure he was early. I e-mailed the teacher and she told me to keep our routine the same so onto the bus he went!

That is so cute! I love the ladybugs!

Hey did everyone see that Enchanted is coming out on DVD next Tuesday- Yep just in time to get into the easter baskets;) :rotfl:

Thanks: I'll have to pick it up!

Very cool: thanks for sharing with us! Welcome to the thread!

I made that shirt too! It is a little tight under the arms for me. The girls look so cute in them though.

STEPHERS!!!
Okay, I know it's really stephres....but I like stephers better (I call my dh Chetter and his name is Chet, see a pattern?)
I had to comment on your ADORABLE plaid outfits you made for you & Meggers (:rotfl: )...LOVE THEM!
GOOD JOB!!! AS always!! :worship:

Aw, thank you! :cloud9: They were so easy!

Adorable jumper: you did a great job on it. Have fun using your new stash!

I am soo stressed out!

The reasons I have not been sewing are becasue I have been working soo much and taking care of Georgia and my husband.

I am working close to 75 hours a week. I hardly see my kid. Which is putting a stress on her. I just feel awful. Tonight I told her that I do not have to work tomorrow night, BUT Grandma will be picking her up from school instead of me because I do have to work during the day. She was not happy.

My husband lost his job (he can get it back..) due to medical issues. He is going through Methadone withdrawal! I hate his dr. really i do. He has chronic back pain they gave him methadone nearly two years ago for it. I was so unwilling to have him be on it, as was he. But nothing was working for his pain. So now, he is on week two of COLD TURKEY withdrawals. He is really sick, the shakes, he either sleeps for 23 hours of the day, or he can't sleep at all. He hasn't eaten anything in nearly five days. Tomorrow after the girl scout meeting I am taking him to the ER.

There is a chronic pain program but its doesn't start until the middle of April!! We can't go through this until then. He can't! I have been talking to his mom about him going to stay with her for a bit until he is getting better. I just dont know what to do anymore. Georgia can not see her dad like this anymore. I would rather her miss him when he is at grandma's house, then see him and remember him like this.

So coming here, reading and looking is like a saving grace. I know it sounds silly, but it really is. Its my own little get away other than work.

Wish us luck tomorrow that someone does something for him.

I'm sorry about your husband and your work schedule. I hope things get better for you both soon.

Better too big than too small! She looks great in her everyday outfit!

I think that shirt would look great repurposed. I am always jealous of those ladies on Craftster who make cute little outfits out of ugly adult clothes. Good luck!

Okay here's a picture of the secret dress I'm working on. It still needs some work. I'm carrying the gold swirls up top and champagne shear ruffle on the sleeves. DD8 doesn't know anything about it yet. Sunday I'm going to let her try it on.

Gorgeous! I love the gold swirls!

You guys are such an inspriration! I absolutely love all the outfits. I had 2 days off, so I am getting caught up on about 15 pages of stuff. I wanted to share some of the outfits I got done while I was off. I think I am improving.

 Hang in there! I have had a lot of issues with my DS8. Some times are harder than others. We watched an episode of "Most Extreme" on the discovery channel that involved parasites :scared1: I had to reassure him over and over again for weeks that "they don't live where we do" :rolleyes1 :guilty: Now his issues are with food and "germs". It is frustrating. I hope your DD is working through it enough that she can not be stressed out all the time.

Hey everyone! I am fairly new to the DISboards. My name is Danielle, I'll be 23 next month. My husband is in the army and is currently deployed. I have a 19 month old little girl named Violette Bleu and we live in Fayetteville NC. We are planning our trip to disneyworld for Sept when my husband comes home for his R&R. I love boutique clothes and have been making tutu dresses for my daughter Violette. That's the only thing I know how to make. I don't know how to use a sewing machine but really want to learn. I want to make Violette some cute little sundresses and outfits for the trip. Can't wait to chat with you ladies. You seem like a fun group!

How cute is she? i love the idea of the shirt into a halter dress I am excited to see it when it is finished.

That is gorgeous!! You realize that the beauty of the reversible top is that the boogers and various foods disappear just like that to the inside! But I agree, you need at least a semi-special event for this outfit. For the bottom, what about one of those ruffles like Heather just used on the HK dress out of the dark fabric with the blue ric rac (from the top) down the middle where it's gathered?

I LOVE this dress pattern. LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out, love the fabrics, love everything about it. I wouldn't put pompoms on it though. What about a super wide ric rac? Or a pleated 1" ruffle?

Hey, I know you! Hope all is well with you guys!! I see that you are planning a trip, are you going to make some customs for the girls??
