Here is some. I think this is the Minnie Dot I bought on here a long time ago but the dots are quite big--bigger than the Wal-Mart Minnie dot.

They also have tons of pink polka dot. Check the "ruler" at the bottom of the picture to check dot size. Some of those dots are huge!:rotfl:

oooh thanks for that pink linkage! Georgia will be so excited! Oh crap...do I tell her or not. She has no clue we are going to DL in May. SHe is going to freak out too. She is always I mean like every hour "when we go back to Disneyland" hahah

I use a regular pants pattern with straight legs. When I'm laying it out on the fabric, I overlap the leg pieces at the side seams just enough to remove the seam allowance at the hip. The pant legs end up being kind of full but not so full they'd be bell bottoms/flared. I usually have the inseam taper the same as the original pattern but it I want the legs even fuller, I just have the seam go straight down from the crotch. I started doing a seamless leg on pants when I was using a gingham check for some pants for Zoe. I wanted to make sure the checks matched at the seams when the idea to just eliminate the seam all together occured to me. Anything that makes sewing more streamlined is something to repeat IMO. :goodvibes

BTW - If you want to try this, make sure the grainline markings on the two pieces are evenly spaced all the way down so the fabric doesn't hang weird if it's off grain.

you are talking about the pattern right? Do you think if I cut off the seam allowance from the sides and tape them together that would work, or no?

I need opinions: do you think these are too "young" for a 10 year-old?

I bought this same pattern...I would say no, it isn't too young. Just watch the material you use. Some of the florals make the outfits, and dresses look babyish.

Ugh! Still not feeling well, but dragged my butt to church so Megan got to wear her Marie outfit (she was a little upset because it wasn't Tuesday, but got over it):

I am not sure why photobucket is insisting on turning my pictures. I even loaded them onto my pc, rotated and then loaded them to photobucket and they turned them.

Heather: cute chipmunks! You did a really great job on them.

AZ: That cake is to die for! Both my kids were way impressed.

Elisa: cute aurora dress, like the short skirt. Megan's bangs are growing out too, she wants them cut! :confused3

Teresa: in our serger class, we had one spool smaller (and a different color) than the others. does that help?

I'm sure I forgot lots of other people, but my head is foggy right now. Have a great day everyone!

I'm so jealous that you have the Marie fabric...we are still waiting for ours...

You can put your pants pattern on the fold, to avoid the side seam.

wouldn't that give it two fronts and or backs on the same piece, instead of one on each side? does that make sense, or I am just a pattern dumby?

Does anyone havea pattern or know of one for pants that doesnt have the side seams?

What size are you making? I LOVE the Growing up with Rosy gauchos on YCMT but I think they only go up to a 4T. I've made them long and capri length and sugarbees has added elastic and made bloomer bottoms. It is a very easy pattern! You can ruffle or not.

Oh, I really like the hot pink dot. It seems to be home dec fabric, though, and dry cleaning is recommended. Anyone bought some and washed it? I'm always so worried the fabric will shrink, bleed or just not hold up to washing and we are SO not a dry clean only family. :rotfl:

me too! The smaller hot pink dot seems to be a regular cotton fabric though and the dots still look like they are about 1/2" if I recall. We don't do dry-cleaning around here either! Lily's Christmas dress from last year is in need of dry-cleaning. I told my sister she could have it for my neice if she wanted to dry-clean it. She said "no thanks" :rotfl2:

I need opinions: do you think these are too "young" for a 10 year-old?

I think it depends on the 10 year old, and for that matter the fabrics you use. My DD10 would probably love it but the skirt/top does seem a little older than the dress.

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have a nice totebag pattern that a 16 year old girl would like - maybe as a caryon?
thanks, wendy

There is a free tutorial for a bag on www sewforum com - you have to register with the site first, then look under 'Show Off Your Projects'. There is a post titled "Smoon Purse Tutorial..." (currently on page 3; it usually stays somewhere in the first 3 pages.) I haven't tried the bag yet, but it looks rather easy and fully adjustable to your size needs. You can search for "smoon" and find examples of bags others have made with her pattern.

There is another popular free bag pattern on the site called the TLG bag (again you can search TLG for examples) - you have to PM TLG (Tommy Lees Granny) for the pattern. I have this pattern, but again have not tried it out myself. It's a popular pattern though - at one time there was a count for the number of bags people had made with her pattern and I think they were up to somewhere around 800 bags!!

ETA: There seems to be some problems with the site's search function... I just tried a couple of those searches and came back with nothing - I know there should be something there. But if you just play around on the site, especially the Show Off Your Projects area you should be able to find mention of both bags.

So i finished the first outfits ever for DS(4) and DS(2). Yes he is a boy I just can't cut his curls and DH likes the surfer look.

And just because she has to have her picture taken I let DD(6) pose in her outfit that eeyore3847 made. I have not made hairbows for it yet so she wanted to wear a set of her valentine bows. She is a Diva

Hey everyone! Thanks for the compliments on the cake. Ds was so excited. He loved it.

Ok I'll try to answer a few questions I remember being asked about the cake.

The top was twizzlers rolled in chocolate buttercream frosting. It turned out better than I thought. I was afraid it would look like I just stuck candy on top. :rotfl2:

Oh yes DOH! I meant Color Flow icing for the signs and Brer Rabbit. Sorry, I'm going on like 10 minutes of sleep with my in-laws here, the birthday party and this cake. (I wont admit I'm blonde and a little ditsy now. :rotfl: } Plus I think I've enhaled too much powdered sugar!!!! The color flow took forever as it was my 2nd attempt at it. I learned that I should have done the sign in solid blue then done the words on a different piece of wax and then put them on top when the letters were dry and they would not have run so much together. Well, next time I'll get it right.

Anyway thanks again.

I LOVE the boys outfits. All of the new ones are cute but the boys are adorable. I'm trying to figure out what to do for my son for our Oct trip. At this point I'm just collecting boyish Disney fabric. :thumbsup2 Sure is fun to hunt for!

oh since you are so close to me - well 45min is not bad - I am going to have you make a cake for nicholas 2nd bday!!!! do you take orders

Lori
