It rang up as a $1. I pretended I didn't even see it ring up as that!!! oh yeah got a cute summer swisuit new for a $1. Thank goodness it fit when I got home!

Lori
GREAT deal!!!!!!
I was engaged to my "best boy" by the time I was two. (He called me his "best girl"...)Our mom's were best friends and we were born 6 months apart! We were deeply in love...he told his parents when we were four that he and I would be living in their home so mom and dad would have to move down the street.

We held hands everywhere we went, he opened car doors for me, helped me buckle my car seat and tied my shoes for me! He got VERY upset one day when he saw my sister HIT me! He told his mother to talk to my mother about it before he had to "step in"...we were about five then.

Alas...we hit 7 and everything changed. We were on the teeter totter at my house and he broke it to me that we couldn't get married. He said he couldn't marry me b/c he was going to be Magnum PI...

*sniffle*

I cried my heart out. Went in and told my sister and his older brother. They made him say he'd marry me...and he did. Reluctantly!

I would just like to point out that even though he and I did not ever marry, he DID name his first daughter for me! He DID! We have the same middle name...even though his wife doesn't know where he got it, I sure do!

The boy carries a flame!

 ;)

That is such a sweet story!!!! And, I love it that he named his daughter after you!!!

I don't know what happened but this post just reposted. It was originally posted a page back so that was odd.

Magnum PI!?! Too funny!! :lmao: My mother told me not long ago that she always knew that if Tom Selleck could meet her she was sure she'd be the woman of his dreams! :rotfl:

Sorry! I had full size pics in there at first and then thought they took up too much space, so I edited them to be thumbnails. Next time, I'll post them in all their ginormous glory!

Very pretty indeed!!! I love your Mulan. I really love Mulan, and we just don't see much of her.

And, Edie's top is gorgeous!!1

When you post pictures though, don't use the th_ we want to see nice big pictures of your work!!! All the more to admire it!!! :thumbsup2

My eyes is getting old, I can't see the tiny pictures!! ;) We like to see those details!!! I can't wait to see your Mulan all finished!!

Okay, we had fun making this "card"--it was my first real attempt at making something with my new Cricut (other than helping Sugarbees with something). It was fun! Nothing is too good for my future DIL ;) :lmao:

Now I feel like I need to mail it to you Heather! If I ever find a 12x12 mailing envelope and you pm me your address I will send it to you!

ETA: AAACK!! :scared: I just realized she is missing a piece of her right arm! I'll fix that!

Okay, not a good photo :confused3 but I fixed her arm!

IMG_0100-1.jpg

You know...there are some of those 13x15 padded envies that fit 12x12 pages! hahaha I know for a fact since I use to sell premade and custom scrapbook pages. The package store LOVED me. hahah

I love that! Soo cute. I have yet to get a cricut because well, I can't balance my sewing and scrappy habit either. I used to make cards for everything now I am lazy and buy the dang things. I have a whole craft room sitting with LOADS of supplies for paper crafts and knitting. oh and fabric too but that is getting used right now. hehe

I purchased some on :wizard: a few weeks ago. Not a bargain by any means, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

Sewin' Sister you are soo right! I got my first yd from :wizard: too. But i must find more I am too nervous to cut into it!

Oh how cute is that!

Georgia has one of these boys...

They are totally alike its crazy. They are both High Functioning Autistic, they both have the same obsessions Elvis, and Disneyland! They have the same color hair same color eyes, same height, They have the same spinning speed. (hahaha I Know sounds funny, but when they spin on the black top or around the poles they do it at the exact same time and the exact same speed)

Anyway, Dean's mom told me today, that yesterday Dean's aide was watching the two of them play at recess and they were holding hands skipping. When she asked how they were doing Georgia replied Dean was her Prince and they were going to take their Elvis dolls (yes, they even have the same Elvis dolls) to Disneyland and ride on the rides off into the sunset. Bwahahahaha isn't that just the sweetest thing?!

Dean's mom and I joke about how we are going to have Spectrum grandbabies and we should just start having family trips to Disney together now.

Does anyone know where to get free touring plans for Disneyworld? I know that there are many sites who sell them (tourguidemike, etc.), but I am too cheap to pay. We will be there April 20th-26th, and I really want to have a plan so that we are able to make the most of our time.
Someone said it earlier- Get the unofficial guide from the library, then you can access their site and use their "tools" like the crowd calendar
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TESSA:cake: :cake: party: party: :bday: :dogdance: (I think this last one one kinda looks like a bear)
Ok - here it is - DD's Easter/Spring dress. I still need to do the buttons/buttonholes and hem but am waiting on DD to come home from school.

Very Cute- And good thinking making it spring and not just easter and a one day outfit.
Hi Guys. I am sorry for the drive-by, but things here are really stressful. DH works for Bear Stearns, and we still don't know whether he's going to have a job or not after the takeover. AND all of our retirement was in Bear (It's practically impossible if you work on Wall street for your stock holdings NOT to be in your company, since they give you stock as a bonus, then make it next to impossible to sell it while you still work for the company :headache: )
Sorry I'm not being very active. We leave in 31 days, and I haven't even sewn all week with this stuff going on....
 So sorry- I hope things get better soon!!!
How cute! I was determined that I did not need a Cricut, afterall I have a Sizzix and love the Girls Are Weird die cut font. Well, while home on maternity leave I caught an informercial for the Cricut and now I really want one. I spent the rest of the day day-dreaming of all the great projects I could "whip up" with the machine. Of course the next question is the basic or the newer one?
I have the smaller "old" one and I wish I had the bigger one- The Biggest disney one I can make is about 5 inches maybe 5 1/2 inches tall.
Watch for sales and get the big one!! If you don't you'll be wishing you did.
Here it is by itself and twirling (of course!)

That looks very cute- DD might get one of those- one of these days :rotfl2: It seems all I make is jumpers- She could sure use an underdress.

Teresa- For your family!! Hope it all turns out OK!!:flower3:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TESSA!!!!

Teresa, I Hope that everything is ok with your SIL in the end. Sounds like things will be smooth for her (hopefully) its never easy but smooth is another story. Keep us posted if there is anything I can do let me know!

Great outfits everyone. I love the pirates! so cute.

I didn't get to sew tonight like I Had hoped for. But hey I worked all day then did girl scouts with some unrule six year old! that is another post. Then had to come back to my dear sweet Georgia Peach having some meltdowns because her eating chair was moved to the wrong spot. such is life, right?!

BUT at least I Know what pattern to use for her Easter dress. I wanted to get it done before Saturday (thankfully I do not have to work!!) for the Community Egg hunt. We will see. I work tomorrow and Friday from 8:30am to 9pm both nights. Maybe cut tomorrow and sew Friday?!

I lost your quote jhammy- I LOVE lukes card for Tessa SO CUTE!! I have enjoyed my cricut- dh got me 2 of the disney cartridges- but I think they would be better if I had the bigger cricut.

I had a shopping day today- I went to 2 walmarts, target and the grocery store. I bought Fabric at BOTH walmarts- Lots of good clearance deals at the better one, It's all in the dryer right now! ds picked out fabric so he could have something made for him- He was feeling a little left out. AND I bought Enchanted at the first one for 14.xx and saw at the second that it was marked 19.97- I don't get it the walmarts are only like 15 miles apart how could it be that they are so different in price- oh well glad I got it at the lower price :goodvibes I feel bad though for all the people who don't know the difference and are getting ripped off! I have to wait until tomorrow evening so I can watch it with the kids. I can't wait til easter so I'm calling it an early easter gift for the family :rolleyes1

Going to bed "early" tonight got a long day tomorrow- Going to grammys to have some help sewing ds shirt- I know cheating aren't I, But I am going to make the shorts. I also have several appliqued shirts and pants/shorts planned for him. I am also going to Joann tomorrow to pick up a few butterick patterns as they are on sale. But I am not buying anything else I swear

I'm skimming to catch up.

Teresa ~ Sorry to hear about your SIL.

Utahmama ~ Thanks for the reminder about the free YCMT bag pattern. I had forgotten!

Love the creations lately. The pirates ones are so cute. And the Easter dresses. I didn't make any Easter ones. :sad1:

We are heading out for a few days. I'll be back on Saturday. There will probably be another thread started by then. :rotfl: If I don't get back on here:

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Everyone's getting ready for Easter! Hope it's a nice sunny day for all of the hunts!

I love the American Girl outfits. It must be hard to sew something so small!

I've just finished DD8's pirate skirt and now I'm working on DD5's princess skirt. Then off to finish DD5's Giselle dress and DD8BF's pink/silver Ariel dress. Plus I still need to pack - we leave in less than a month!

Morgan has her "boy" all picked out as well  (the story of these two child is truly amazing!). He is a little boy she knows from China (he lives here now :cheer2: ). It is so WONDERFUL to see the two of them together. She tells everyone-he is her "baby" and she if going to marry him. He recently told his mom that he loves Morgan, but does not want to get married (he is 5 LOL). When I told Morgan, she said, that's ok she still loves him :lmao:

Thank you. I am so overwhelmed with how caring everyone is on this thread!!! I tried to talk to Brian about our SIL last night, but he doesn't deal well with things like this (plus there are some really serious things going on with his side of the family right now too, I don't think he can handle all of it at once.) So, having a little extra support from you guys really helps. I'm sure Heather will appreciate it too. We really love out SIL, she has put up with our brother for 12 (I think) years! (Love yah David! ;) )

I bought Enchanted at the first one for 14.xx and saw at the second that it was marked 19.97- I don't get it the walmarts are only like 15 miles apart how could it be that they are so different in price- oh well glad I got it at the lower price :goodvibes I feel bad though for all the people who don't know the difference and are getting ripped off!

Isn't that crazy about Enchanted! I went to buy it the other day, and it was $19!!! I was a bit peeved!! But, the same day, Heather's husband went to a different Walmart and it was $14. He picked one up for me, but my family FORGOT to get it from Heather last night at the party!!! I was so disapointed when they got home and didn't have it! :(

Have fun sewing with your grammy!!!

I love these little "love" stories!!!

I had my husband all picked out at 5 myself, but then, tragedy of tragedies!!!! We were placed in DIFFERENT kindergarten classes! I thought my heart would break!!!

I think it all turned out for the best though, he's been in jail several times now!

The American Girl clothes aren't too bad. The dolls are kind of big. Now Barbie clothes are just plain aweful to make. DD's grandmother crochets Barbie clothes for her and her great aunt makes plastic canvas furniture for her too.

As a long-time lurker on this thread, I finally have something to show.
I will preface this by saying that the only thing I had made before
this skirt is a pillow in Home-Ec. So, I'm pretty pleased. Thank you
all for the wonderful inspiration and encouragement that each of
you show.

I bought the Cinderella shirt at K-mart in case anyone is interested.

That skirt is adorable!!! I have yet to make a patchwork twirl skirt, but I love them!!! I HATE to gather, but someday, I am going to make one of those!! Thank you so much for coming out of lurkdome to share with us!

Teresa, :grouphug: to your family! My family has been touched by cancer as well. My mom had ovarian cancer, but luckily they caught it early. She has been cancer free for 9 years now. From what the other posters have said, the type of cancer she has is very treatible. You and your family will be in my prayers.

I know I am a little behind, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY TESSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finished a few things last night, and I will post pics when my models come home from school! I took the day off because the girls' Easter parties are today. They always want me to go to all their parties, so shoot, I had to take the day off.:rolleyes1 haha!!!!

I am getting so excited for my trip. It is almost here!!!!! I do need to finish my projects, though.:scared1:
