Hi. I just love looking through your guys thread. you all are so very talented. I have recently found out I am pregnant and was trying to think of some things I could make myself instead of purchasing. I love customized/personal things and it would definitely be cheaper. The thing is....I am really new to this. I have a machine but rarely use it. But I have plenty of time to learn before the baby is due. (guessing early December). Do any of you have advice for some things I could make? I was thinking burp cloths, a blanket, maybe a swaddler. Any advice would be welcome! Thanks.

Try posting on the Disboutique thread itself. Everyone is very friendly and we'll all see your question and be able to respond!

PP was right everyone that posts to that thread is so helpful! There is a link on the first page called bookmarks and you can find almost anything there that you would like to make & they are all free patterns.

Here is a link to a burpcloth pattern that I use all of the time for gifts: It is a contoured cloth and everyone I have given it to loves it. I have used flannel, cotton and terrycloth and all work very well.

Hope this helps and certainly go on over to that thread the women & Tom are great! They have inspired me to sew, and I have now become more of a fabric addict than ever! :rotfl2:
