Disboards and the Podcast

I'm more of a lurker now but am still a very huge fan of both the boards and the podcast (and of course Disney). Like many here, friends and family (and more than the occasional stranger) will ask about Disney and trip planning. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of people who haven't heard of the boards! Hello people, it's 2014! And you have access to a site that is BETTER than Disney's own site! My daughter and I were recently at the Chocolate Spa in Hershey PA and several of the therapists mentioned first time trips to WDW or the DCL and had so many questions but hadn't ever been to the boards or listened to the podcast. I started giving out the website address - they were so appreciative. It felt like a public service; it was the right thing to do. I went from years ago feeling like I was the only self-proclaimed Disney freak around with my little notecards in the park to now assuming everyone is on the Disboards, listening to the podcast, and watching Livestream videos. Who knew there were people still yet uninformed? We need to get the word out!

So true! We do need to spread the word. Perhaps we should have little "business cards" with the DIS Boards web address on it that we can give out to people? Maybe something with a QR code on them?

OP...I have done the same thing a lot. I have had a couple of people said that they are going to WDW and I pointed them in this direction and explained to them that I thought I knew a lot about WDW because of the trips I had taken already, but I had learned much more through here.

Yes! I often wonder, though, how many people actually go to the site after I tell them about it. As many questions as people ask me, I don't think they really want to research the answers themselves

What surprises me the most is the amount of people on the boards some who have been on here for years that don't know about the podcast.

I'm love to tell people about the Dis. I'm such a Disney freak and haven't been able to get to WDW for a few years so the podcasts are a lifeline for me!
And a chocolate spa - OMG! Sounds amazing and dangerous!!!
