As for me, I doubt I would ever use the service either, because I like to book everything myself. That way I know exactly what I'm paying for.
Perhaps I'm missing the point of your message, but with DISavers, you CAN book everything yourself. When you transfer that reservation to DISavers, you will then get the rebate (minus the $15 handling charge) which based on the lowest cost you have already found. This includes any discounts you can find.
You will know exactly what your cost will be in advance. The rebate is merely the commission paid by Disney to travel agencies- usually 10% of the pre-tax amount.
