According to the Disney rehab schedule the Tomorrowland Transit Authority aka People Mover is closed from May 3rd to June 30th!

What am I to do? From what I've been reading, this was the only ride I would be able to ride during my stay, due to all the FP+ and crowd issues! I planned on doing rope drop and running straight to People Mover, then soaking up the atmosphere for 12 hours, riding it again and then leaving.

Clearly I need a new touring plan...

I get the sarcasm but I actually am bummed out, I love that ride! It is old Disney to me and I have great memories riding it. Like when my 6 yo DS was too scared to ride SM so we rode around and around on TTA so he could go inside SM. There was the year SM was closed for rehab and we could ride TTA and see the inside of SM all lite up with workers, cool. And the year we visited with another family, everyone went on SM or the speedway except me, I rode the TTA alone during eve. emh and thought about how lucky I was to be there at WDW with my family and friends, so cool to see them running through Future Land from up above.

So I will miss it this May.... :sad1:

Rode it a couple of times at the end of Feb. and it's desperately in need of a major refurbishment. Everything is extremely dirty on the ride.

:lmao:LOL...the thread is funny but my 19 year old son is pretty bummed out too....we haven't been to the World in 5 years and the people mover is one of his favorites to go chill out on a hot day and take a break....he was not happy when I told him it would be down.

Clearly, you do! :rolleyes1 Count me in with the People Mover lovers---I rode it last Sunday when Space Mountain was down and all lit up---it was interesting to see:goodvibes. It nice to have that Birdseye view of the park and to sit for a few minutes.

Hah!

If we were going when people mover was closed, my 5 year old would immediately change the plan to - "Back to the Hotel!"

I look forward to the people mover every single time we go. I probably ride it 3 times each trip. It's so relaxing for me.

My daughter would be devastated! We defected to DL last year and she was so disappointed to find out they don't have one any more.

Yes!!!

We noticed that too on our last trip. We're a family of Peoplemover lovers (what is it about that ride?), and we all commented how gross some of the tunnels were looking. Some of the those walls look like they could use a good scrub down, or a nice coat of paint, or something.

It messed up our plans too. We had originally planned a couple of full days from early to close at MK and now they've locked us out of our nap area. We'll have to raft it over to TSI and search for a quiet cave or something :rotfl:

Definitely agree it's in need of a cleaning. I, too, love the People Mover. It's nice to ride in the middle of the day when it's hot. Sit, relax, maybe take a short cat nap. lol

I had not been on the people mover in YEARS. I think I went on it when I was a child and then did not bother to go back on. I went on it this past trip as an adult and really appreciated the ride.

I also was hit with the fact that as a kid tomorrow land was so cool because it was the future and really got your imagination going. The people mover was dirty and did not have that futuristic feel. It felt more like the past. That ride although I liked it needs the refurbishment.

I would love Disney to bring that futuristic element back to tomorrow land as well as Epcot. :)

I think it would be cool if they added displays of the future as envisioned by Walt Disney. They would have that retro futuristic look, but the large EPCOT display would then fit perfectly.

It was closed on our last trip too. Bummed to hear it will be down again while we're there.

It's one of our favorites too and though I'm disappointed it will be undergoing refurb during our next visit, it desperately needs it! The PM is one of DD's must-do's so I expected a bit of a fuss when I told her it'd be closed -- instead I got a "so they're going to fix the holes in the seats?" ha!

OP that was good :rotfl: however, add me to the bummed out list. We will be there at the end of May and our family would ride it multiple times during our MK day...DH and I especially liked to ride it while our DDs were off riding Space Mountain for the umpteenth time. It really is such a classic ride that I agree needs to be updated....just wished it was either before our trip or after we leave :goodvibes. It is going to be weird to see the ride not going while we are there.

This is us!!! I love this ride, and I'm so upset that it will be down when we visit it next month! We ride it when we need a respite, which is quite often:). We also love to ride it at night when the fireworks are going off!
