When I went with a friend in February, her 5-year-old daughter got a nosebleed during the night, and got a lot of blood on the sheets. This happened to be the morning of our Cinderella breakfast, so we were in a hurry to leave, but we pulled the sheets off and piled them in the middle of the bed.
When we got back late that night, the bed had been made up again using the bloodstained sheets. And I'm not talking about a small stain, either - I can't imagine the staff not noticing it.
It was late, but we called down to the front desk. They told us that housekeeping was all gone for the day and there was nothing they could do about the sheets. They'd make a note to change the sheets the next day. The little girl did not want to sleep on the stained sheets, so we asked again if we could get some clean sheets. Eventually, and quite reluctantly, someone agreed to bring up some clean sheets, repeating to us that we would have to make the bed ourselves as it was not her job. We waited an hour before the sheets arrived.
No, I don't change my sheets every day at home but I do change them if they get bloodstains! I think what made us most unhappy was the response of the staff. Not only did they not apologize, they did not seem very wiling to resolve the problem even by bringing clean sheets.
