My 7 year old is in tears because someone told her, "you look like a boy in a dress"

I know that it's a cruel world...and I told her not to let it bother her. *sigh* But I feel terrible...why do people have to be hurtful? Now she doesn't want to wear her favorite gold dress anymore.

That is horrible!! I know all to well about rude people. My whole life has been filled with them, being put down picked on. I never left the house because my whole town is filled with rude people. I didn't find nice people until I found my friends on VMK.

Dont let anybody tell you that if they dont like it too bad block out the people who hurt you. Your friends are there to guide you and protect you remember that. Forget the one who told you that ignore it cause probably they look like a boy in their dress.

That's a shame. I'm so glad my son can't read yet so he is completely oblivious when he is on vmk. It never ceases to amaze me how cruel people can be on there.

The other day this guy was talking to me in the pirates lobby about playing on a team with him. He isn't necessarily the best player, but neither am I. Some girl starts saying, "omg, you're gonna play with him. He is terrible. Don't waste your credits." I felt really bad. I just said, "hey, nobody is perfect."

Then again, some of my cruelest memories revolve around kids at school so it makes sense that vmk would be no different.

Don't worry, I'm sure once these new costumes come out your daughter will forget all about the mean comments.

Hugs to you and your girl. It is really sad that people feel the need to be that way on VMK. Some show a personality I really doubt they show in the real world. Just let your daughter know that for someone to say something like that they obviously have something missing in their life for them to feel the need to pick on another. <<<hugs>>>

someone in my 8th grade class last year said something horrible about me that wasn't true and i almost cried right there in class

This is really a shame. It seems people have been really mean lately...more so than usual. Whenever I see someone say a person is ugly in vmk, I always say "We all look like the dolls from Its A Small World Ride." Maybe if you tell your daughter that, it will make her feel better.

People can be so mean sometimes and it mostly stems from jealousy. The person who said that probably was just angry they don't have a dress like hers. I hope your daughter is feeling better about everything now and she feels comfortable wearing her dress again.

I also don't understand why people have to say others are ugly. I've heard it in the game as well and to me it is really a stupid thing to say. How can virtual characters that basically all look the same be ugly? If you think someone's character in the game is ugly, than you must think your own character is as well. If someone is telling others their character is ugly then they themselves are ugly on the inside.

They were just jealous they didn't have a gold dress.

But it's not just VMK, I've had people say things to me you wouldn't believe, from both total strangers and from friends.

I'm sure this behavior will be more prevelant with all the costumes coming out. So many are complaining about not having the credits for all the new stuff, so become one with the ignore button. It is sad to see the jealousy monster out in full force! Just remember, a true friend (and not just a friend by association on your list) accepts you for who you are~not the costume you decide to wear that day. Have a magical day!

my five year old brother cant read yet i im lucky there and my sister (8 years old) is one of those losers that do taken and walk around being rude if you ever get a rude coment from a player named dawwwna let me know

that's terrible!!!!! if it will help, i'll try to come on at opening today to tell her how pretty she looks in a gold dress.

and catycatcat4, i used to dream that i owned a doll from small world, that ride is enchanting for little kids!!!!!

oh and catycatcat4, my sister (7) one day complained to me that all her vmk friends had boyfriends and she didn't.......................... i told her there is no way she could have a boyfriend on vmk, and luckily for me, she thinks her skin looks cool blue, so not a lot of guys talk to her.
