Disappointed

yes OP Now you are just ruining disney for everyone. because of you and your FP everyone is going to expect something all the time. horrible horrible Disney vacationer. tsk tsk you just HAD to simply ask if it was possible to get a fast pass. Now Disney is RUINED thanks to you

*end sarcasm*

:thumbsup2

**Fights sarcasm by going into jolly mode**

My icecream melted so i didn't get to enjoy everything i paid for!

Come on, usually when people here get something they bragg about it and when they don't get what they want they complain.

Fine by me btw. It makes interesting reading. So please don't stop

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Greedy? man people are acting like this person asked for a million dollars lol. all they did was ask for a fast pass. a little piece of paper to get on a ride without waiting in line... they already waited in line and didn't get to ride

Disney gives out FP's all the time for things like this. This isn't unusual and I certainly don't think it makes the OP a bad person.

they asked for a FAST PASS... not the key to the kingdom lol

I am with you on this one. I am so surprised by the harshness of some of the posts about a FP.

We were at Epcot March 1 and after waiting in line one hour for soarin we were escorted out the back door with no explaination. It appeared they closwed down the whole building. We stopped at guest relations to see about getting fast pass for something else and they were not at all helpful I think Disney should have handled the situation for their guest with a little more epthy.

She said they didn't know why they had to leave the ride and said she went to guest services to see about getting a FP for another ride - not to complain or make a scene or demand compensation. She said guest services wasn't helpful, which goes against one of the reasons people love Disney. They are known for their superior customer service. I don't think it is unreasonable for her to ask for and expect to get a FP for another ride. We once got a FP that was good on any ride simply b/c it took a long time at the ticket window.

I don't think anyone expects a CM to be standing outside of a burning building to hand people FPs. But the OP went to guest services expecting Disney service and was disappointed that she didn't get it. Disappointed. Not angry. Not I'm never going to Disney again. Not I can't believe they didn't give me my money back. Disappointed.

I agree, although it was a safety issue I would still contact Disney. I'm sure they will make it right -- I'm a little surprised they didn't do that on that day but I still think they will!

Make what right? :confused3 Safety is first priority. while I agree waiting is frustrating but exactly what should disney have done?

Disney can't win, if they hadn't evacuated the building and some one got hurt there would have been lawsuits out the wazoo and people screaming how callous Disney is.

Give them a break.

Yeah, but you know what crap happens. plain and simple. Why do we expect compensation each and every time some thing doesn't go our way? :confused3
Yeah it sucks, move on.

They do make "instant FP". You put the card in the machine and the FP that comes out is valid immediately. I wouldn't be looking for a FP that says you can ride 'Soarin' between 6:15p-7:15p. Because, as you said, they don't know when it will reopen.

Yes, I know that. My thinking was that, since they were so ticked about not getting to go on Soarin' (whatever), they were going to want to use it especially for that.

We had to evacuate Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin in Disneyland but we were on the ride, literally the first turn, so we had to sit on the ride for half an hour then we got off and waited. They told us it would get started again soon, so after another 20 minutes they said it had to close for a couple hours. They didn't offer us anything nor did we expect anything. We just left and yeah said, "that's life." If we got something, great, but we weren't about to go complain and demand something.

Because Disney is in the business of selling a perfect, magical vacation so they need to do what they can to make it so for the guests.

Sorry to be a post hog, but this is what "we" are teaching our children too. They come to school just expecting to get straight A's without having to work for it, to make the varsity team and be a starter, etc.

Lastly, I was just watching Judge Judy and she had a case where the lady was suing a lawyer for her retainer back because he didn't win her case for her. That was what she said. Judge Judy pretty much laughed at her and dismissed the case. :confused3

that's not what the issue was. the person didn't have an issue with waiting. it was that they waited all that time and never got to ride the ride and at the time had no idea why.

FP can be given for other rides than just Soarin... I'm not saying the CM should hand them out as he's escorting people from the building but when they went to guest services to inquire I don't see why one wasn't issued. LIke someone mentioned they don't cost anything but the paper it's written on.

no one is expecting to be ushered to the front of every line but when you wait in line for a ride for an hour and then don't get to ride it... it might be nice if that time MEANT something and you didn't have to spend another hour in the next line when you already waited your time lol.

like when you meet the characters there is a line... you wait. if you are already in the line they don't just cut it off in the middle and say "sorry no more pictures... for all you people who waited TOUGH" they wouldn't do that lol and I dont' think it's too much to ask for a FP when you waited an hour for a ride you didn't get to ride. Disney is good at this sort of thing and normally will give FP's if for some reason something doesn't go right.

this isn't out of left field... this is a common occurance for Disney to do this. I think this person was jsut disappointed that the courtesy wasn't offered when they waited in line. fair is fair

If she wasn't mad about waiting then why mention you waited an hour.

Um, yes, they did in the line I was in.

Since when is life always fair? Fair is subjective. Many on here feel that just being safe was fair. I'm sure there are a few out there that would feel that their entire Disney vacation was ruined if they didn't get to ride one ride.

Hey on a lighter note................Per touring plans Soarin' is back up and running with 48 minute wait. :dance3:

Yes and all the person said was they were disappointed... I doubt it ruined their life or anything

I honestly don't know what people are getting so up in arms about and jumping all over the OP about. Have you enver been disappointed in life? do you NEVER tell anyone when you are disappointed?

Man give the OP a break. All they said was they figured theyw ould get a FP and didn't and they were surprised and disappointed... since Disney gives out FP's ALL THE TIME when something doesn't go right.

DISNEY set the expectation of compensating when something gets messed up... not the OP

Please, don't get me started. I just spent two hours at a meeting last night at my middle school because a parent wants "tag" to be outlawed. Her son is slow and she said he is "tramautized" because he always gets caught. So now she wants the rules changed or tag to be outlawed.

See the community board for the entire idiotic story.

I still don't think it warrants some of the hostility towards the OP because they had a disappointing moment.

They aren't ruin Disney, they aren't ruining all our kids, they aren't ruining the world. I think we are making mountains out of mole hills.

The OP certainly doesn't deserve to be treated the way some people are treating them

The way people are talking to the OP... What are THESE people teaching our children. no wonder we have trouble with bullies at schools.

and I don't understand why when you express a different opinion you are accused of "getting up in arms".

yes I get disappointed but generally I don't look for compensation because I'm disappointed.

I'm not up in arms or "jumping" all over the op. I am simply express a difference of opinion.

I'm talking about the people who are accusing of being greedy and demanding. insinuating that it's people like the OP that are ruining our kids and they are going to ruin Disney too because they just go around demanding things....

the OP didn't DEMAND anything. According to them they jsut went to guest services and inquired about the possibilty of a fast pass. and then they were a bit disappointed.

WOW!!!!!!! You people really do wanna just sit here and fight over anything don't you?? Really, this is still going on after 6 pages?? Ridiculous! Talk about waste of time! Move on people!

To the OP, wow, that would be extremely frustrating and I totally feel your pain and would have liked some sort of explanation at the time, but now that you have read on what the problem was I'm sure you are over it and it did not affect your trip. I hope anyway.

Good grief, its like no one lately is allowed to post anything or any sort of comment with out being beaten down with argumentative comments!

Looks like the blind squirrel found more nuts...couldn't resist. I guess I just think the same way you do.

There were reports of smoke in the biulding, seems the important thing was to get everyone out.......This is not the end of the world..

Just my opinion....AKK

Really you're going to complain because Disney put your saftey first!!

And I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot and Disney would'nt have acted as swiftly and as efficiently as they did someone would have complained about it.

Plus exactly how would have a fastpass for another ride made you feel better about missing out on riding Soarin? :confused3 When the problem was fixed all you had to do was go get back in line again.

Make WHAT right? What on earth is there to make right? There was a situation which could have put guests in danger. They evacuated. Yes, it's frustrating to wait in line only to not be able to go on the ride, but that's life.

Unfortunately, people getting themselves in a twist over the weirdest "injustices" at Disney also seems to be a part of life.

Sometime can't please anyone no matter what. :sad2:

I never post or reply here i usually just watch the action.

A very common theme seems to be that whenever something happens people instantly scream:COMPENSATION!!

My only comment to that would be:

"Keep up the good work! This sense of entitlement will get Disney, or any company for that matter, to stop handing out anything out of courtesy."Then you will have something to complain about!

Just my 2 cents:thumbsup2

Yep. Goodbye complimentary birthday deserts!
